2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Viability this week!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Got a lot accomplished over the weekend- made big dents in regards to starting our registry, finished my baby shower invitations (my mom just needed help making them on vistaprint because she is technologically challenged) and got a few things for the nursery. Everything I do to check off my "getting ready for baby" list makes me less and less anxious- I am super type A planner and doing all this definitely distracts me from PGAL brain.
Had an ultrasound this past Friday just to double check my cervix and placental position and all looked well so feeling good about that
4. GTKY: What is your favorite thanksgiving food item? Its a tough call- its all good but I love mashed potatoes and my mom makes the best stuffing and pumpkin pie (from scratch- no stove top stuffing or pumpkin from a can in her house!)
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I just want to fast-forward 4 months and meet a healthy baby...
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: This week was really tough. As I mentioned last week, Saturday was my EDD for my most recent pregnancy/loss. Being PGAL for that was tough... I had a pretty bad emotional breakdown the next day (yesterday) and convinced myself that the baby was moving less and that something must have happened. Just when I think I have adjusted to the PGAL anxiety brain, this happens.
4. GTKY: What is your favorite thanksgiving food item? Honestly, I love the combination of Thanksgiving foods - it's no one item but the whole meal together that makes it so freakin' wonderful! But if I had to choose something, I would say stuffing.
@JustAnotherUsername16 I am so sorry that you were having a rough weekend with your loss EDD....it definitely is triggering and can stir up a lot of bad memories which impact what should be a happy time now. Being around my friend and her 6 month old this weekend just got me more excited and impatient on my LO being here! I hope you feel better soon *hugs*
@justanotherusername16 I'm so sorry that you had a rough week. The EDD are so difficult. Maybe try to do something nice for yourself this week? New clothes or pedicure or massage? I try to do things like that when I'm down.
1. How far along are you? 21 weeks 4 days
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Probably 24 weeks. My doctors always discuss pre term labor with me because of my uterine abnormality and lately every pain and/or twinge makes me wonder if it's pre term labor. Getting to 24 weeks would at least make me feel like there was a chance if I were to go into pre term labor.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Just feeling a bit sad today. Not sure why. Maybe it's just because it's Monday! Ugh!
4. GTKY: What is your favorite thanksgiving food item? Probably potatoes and stuffing. I do have to say that lately it's been the turkey though and we actually host Thanksgiving and make the turkey. It's probably the best turkey I've ever had and I can't believe I make it.. lol
@sarahbobby I love turkey too- last year we hosted thanksgiving and bought a freshly killed turkey from a farm. It was the best turkey I have ever had- a lot of flavor and I felt good knowing it didn't have any antibiotics/hormones in it!
How far along are you? 23 weeks 4 days Next milestone you're looking forward to? The next thing I'm really looking forward to is frequent movement, I'm hoping that will really help PGAL brain. Rant/rave/positive vibes: I usually try to avoid this board because that's what works best for me, but today is a horrible PGAL day. The 1 year anniversary for my loss is next week and it's been giving me nightmares since I had an ultrasound thanksgiving week and that's when everything happened. I have one this week and I can't stop crying. I'm terrified that the same thing is going to happen. I apologize for basically being a stranger and dumping this here, but I'm hoping that talking with people who understand and have been there gives me perspective. GTKY: I absolutely love the homemade stuffing and homemade cranberry orange relish. And basically everything gets covered in gravy. Except the relish.
@samm1225 Everyone has their own way of coping, and for some that is avoiding threads like this all together. However, you are always welcome to drop in a join us if you find that your needs change - like they are right now. I am so sorry that you are struggling right now - anniversaries of losses are never fun. I will be thinking about you next week for your scan and sending you lots of prayers, positive thoughts, and love/care. Be kind to yourself.
@samm1225 this is a safe place for us PGAL mommas- you can join as often or as less often as you like. We will always be here for you if you need to vent or talk....I am so sorry that you are dealing with your loss EDD. I had mine last month and it was hard for me too- I hope your upcoming scan goes well, I'll be thinking of you!
Thank you @JustAnotherUsername16 and @Spartanrd4 I can see me being part of this thread more often now. I hope your babies let you enjoy all the stuffing on Thanksgiving! It's so nice to see other people who enjoy it as much as me lol
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? I'm looking forward to feeling and seeing movement from the outside. DH is getting really anxious. Also, I'm pretty ready for these months to fly by so we can meet our little boy.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My glucose test is coming up at my next appointment. I'm really nervous for it but also really want to get it over with.
4. GTKY: What is your favorite thanksgiving food item? Mashed potatoes! Yummmmm!
@samm1225 We're all here for each other no matter when/how often! Dealing with your EDD can be so hard--I definitely struggled with mine too. I hope your upcoming ultrasound goes well!
@Spartanrd4 Checking things off the list definitely helps me too. Every little thing that we can do to get ready and prepare makes me breathe a little easier. Glad everything looked good at your ultrasound!
@samm1225 Welcome! It's great to see both familiar and new faces on this thread. I really hope you have a good appt. this week so that you can feel some reassurance in time for what will be a tough week for you.
@JustAnotherUsername16 Sending you a big Bump hug and hoping you start feeling better soon. PgAL is so tough, and it's completely understandable that your EDD was a trigger. I am nearing the date of my loss and although I am currently too busy at work to dwell on it, I worry that I'll get the down time to do so during Thanksgiving break. Here's wishing a better week for you and a wonderful holiday season this year!
1. How far along are you? 23+1
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? next week - viability!
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Rant: Just wanting to feel more definitive kicks; thanks to an anterior placenta, it may be a little while longer. I've begun feeling the sensation of bubbles popping in my stomach and lower abdomen, so I'm hoping that true kicks (plus ones DH can feel!) are just around the corner.
Rave: Starting to plan the baby shower, which my BFF is throwing. This means I also need to get a move on our registries! Hopefully, all this planning will help make the upcoming loss anniversary a little easier to bear. Feeling stronger kicks will help too.
4. GTKY: What is your favorite thanksgiving food item? This is a hard question. I'll tell you my least favorite item, which is the cranberry sauce. It's hard to rank all the other foods though!
1) 22 Weeks! Got a coconut in there 2) looking forward to viavility 3) Having a major PGAL moment today. I'm filling out benefit elections for next year and really should contribute to the child care FSA but running though my head is what if we lose the baby and then I lose that money bc it's use it or lose it. Ugh! Did any of you ladies set up a FSA with work for next year? 4) Stuffing made with my family's secret ingredient, fried pepperoni
@BaylieGirl fried pepperoni?!? That sounds like an amazing addition to stuffing! I'm sorry you're having a rough PGAL day. Sometimes all we can do is get through the day and hope the next one is better. Would you be able to cancel the FSA if you really needed to for any reason?
On a happy note, since our GTKY? is about Thanksgiving foods... I literally JUST finished this cake that combines two of my favorite Thanksgiving things - turkey and dessert, haha.
@BaylieGirl I am sorry you are having a PGAL moment- I never sign up for those FSA things so don't really know the details of it. Sad that we even have to question the future like this when simple things like that come about.
