Polyhydramnios

Has anyone had it? My Dr. diagnosed me today. She didn't act like it was a big deal so I didn't feel the need to talk about it. And then I googled it and I'm starting to freak out. From what I'm reading it sounds like it be nothing or something could seriously be wrong. It's super encouraging.

Re: Polyhydramnios

  • I have it too. Like you, my Dr played it down and I wasn't worried until I googled it.

  • And since no one is biting I guess it really is as rare as they say. That's comforting right?
  • I wouldn't worry about it until your doctor says that you should worry about it.  It seems like the cases come in a wide range and if you only have a mild case it doesn't seem to be too big of a deal.
  • @whitneyp26 I just got back from l&d, and I'm collecting my urine 24 hrs too. I think I have the opposite thing. My AFL was 5.4 and I have to go back tomorrow to do another BPP to check again. Only did a cursory google since you said it was scary.  :'(

  • @Austenista I am so sorry. It's really a blow to the gut to be flipped to high risk like this. Hugs
  • @Fauxpa I think we are worried now. I went back in today and was confirmed again by the other dr. Not even borderline, and they think I have had GD all along (not diagnosed thanks to the horrible dr I saw the first 28 weeks). Doing the 24 urine catch and getting more labs Friday.
  • @whitneyp26 Yeah, I just realized you also posted about it in the other thread.  I'm so sorry! All of the positive thoughts and energy your way.
  • @whitneyp26 I'm sorry you're going through this. My nerves are just through the roof worrying about baby. I googled because of course I did. I can't imagine sleeping tonight and waiting all day tomorrow to finish this 24 urine catch to go let them check again. DH is outside installing the car seat because we hadn't done that yet.  :#

  • @whitneyp26 My levels have been borderline but my midwife isn't too concerned. Personally I can't google things anymore- all I do is freak myself out. I'm sorry for what you're going through! I know it's hard to not just constantly worry about our babies. Keeping you in my thoughts!!
