Do you know the sex yet? Team Blue, Pink, Green? Pink! I still can't believe that... totally thought I'd be a mom to all boys.
Appointments this week? Normal check up on Thursday - excited to hear the heartbeat, 4w between visits just feels so long!
Symptoms? None really at this point. A little round ligament pain but that's about it. Food aversion seems to largely gone away (about time!).
Rant/Rave/Questions? We almost officially have DS new room cleaned out and ready for paint. We bought prints and sheets for the nursery. Excited to start decorating for this little girl!
GTKY: Where are you at on the name front? Have you picked one? Options? We have one that we are about 90% sold on. So weird, with DS I fell hard in love with a name. With this baby, I've been so wishy washy. I like the name and can totally see it being her name but just have a hesitation for some reason.
Do you know the sex yet? Team Blue, Pink, Green? Team pink! Appointments this week? Nope. A/s in two weeks and I'm getting nervous.
Symptoms? Just started leaking colostrum. Whoo hoo. Congestion. Pelvic pain. Headaches. Sleepiness yet insomnia.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Hoping the baby movement ramps up a little. Feeling super lucky I've been feeling her at all though. Rant: I'm at the doctor's waiting to get blood drawn for my husband's work health program (we get points if I do this too) and they're super late getting to me and I had to fast first and I'm starving and I feel like I'm gonna throw up if they don't hurry and do it so I can eat. Ugh.
GTKY: Where are you at on the name front? Have you picked one? Options? Well we decided to NOT name her my favorite name because it's too popular. But now we're back to the drawing board and I think I'm going to have a new favorite every week. Currently loving Mila, Micah, Gianna, Charlotte. DH is not being remotely helpful.
How far along are you? holy crap, I'm 20 weeks today! It just hit me that I'm half way there :O
How big is baby? Banana
Do you know the sex yet? Team Blue, Pink, Green? It's a boy!
Appointments this week? None this week
Symptoms? Still cramping, back pain, overall discomfort in my pelvis. Nose bleeds are still frequent
Rant/Rave/Questions? Can't think of anything
GTKY: Where are you at on the name front? Have you picked one? Options? We have a few on the list but nothing concrete. We've kind of stopped thinking about it for a bit. We kind of keep going back to Miles.
@HGRich I love love love the name Charlotte! Unfortunately it was a veto by DH. Hope your blood draw gets done super fast! Prego mama that's hungry is no bueno!
@m&max thank you! They did get to me about a half hour later and I got to devour some breakfast after that. Thank goodness. And yes--I love it and DH hasn't vetoed it yet. We were in NC when we conceived, though not in Charlotte at the time, but we did spend time there that same week. I thought it would be an amusing tribute to our successful vacation. Haha.
Do you know the sex yet? Team Blue, Pink, Green? Finding out next week!!!!!
Appointments this week? Nope
Symptoms? Just a bit of tenderness in the lower abdomen as everything stretches and moves around.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rave: Finally starting to make some decisions to get the house ready for the baby! We bought some prints for the nursery, and a new comforter for the guestroom bed that will go into my DSS room.
***TW*** with a previous loss, it seemed as if we waited a long time to do anything because we weren't sure if this one would stick around. Now that I'm nearly halfway it seems more permanent.
Question: My husband didn't sleep well last night, and said it was possibly just the stress of all the unknowns and lack of control that come with babies. Does anyone have any advice on what they've done to help ease their partners mind?
GTKY: Where are you at on the name front? Have you picked one? Options? We have a girls name, and my husband insists we call the baby by that name even though we don't know what it is yet. (He really wants a girl). We haven't settled on a boys name yet. Although we'll share the gender with family and friends, we will keep the name to ourselves.
@Missa0830 no advice, but I can commiserate with waiting to do things because of loss. We haven't bought a single thing yet. Not one. I can also commiserate about partner's anxiety. My H is really easily stressed about the future and finances. I don't know what to do to help him besides remind him that we're in it together and people get by with much less money and fewer resources than us! I'm a major control freak too so it's been good for both of us to stare ahead, together, at the gaping chasm of the unknown. Lol.
Do you know the sex yet? Team Blue, Pink, Green? Team PINK
Appointments this week? None
Symptoms? Congestion, heartburn, constant hunger
Rant/Rave/Questions? I am gaining waaay too much weight but can just cant bring myself to care. I'm happy, baby is healthy so oh well bring on the pasta!
GTKY: Where are you at on the name front? Have you picked one? Options? We have decided on Landrey
Do you know the sex yet? Team Blue, Pink, Green? Hopefully finding out on Fridy
Appointments this week? A/S on Friday!!!!
Symptoms? None anymore. Exhausted today but I am unsure if its pregnanct related. I've also had some redish brown speckles appear on my nipples
Rant/Rave/Questions? I hate to keep bringing this up. But I am so worried and stressed out. I feel like I should be showing at this point, and I am terrified that I am going to find something terrible out on Friday. It's all I'm thinking about. Yesterday I brought it up to DH when he got home from work and he was really supportive. I had a good cry. I thought today I would feel a little better, but I'm not. I just want some sign that I'm pregnant but I feel normal, and I think I look exactly the same as I did before I was pregnant. Ugh. I dont know. I'm just ready for Friday to be here already. I want to be excited and start planning again
GTKY: Where are you at on the name front? Have you picked one? Options? We like Isla and Henley for a girl, and Sawyer and Lukas for a boy. I think Sawyer and Henley are our tops, but I think we will probably have two names picked out until baby is born.
@SDSwenson I think the worrying with DS went away a ton once I could feel him moving. For DH it was the same, once he could feel DS move it was so reassuring. We're almost there! I think prenancy is just a totally worrisome part of life. If it's not that baby is doing ok, then you'll be worrying about how that baby is going to get out! Well at least for me that's how it was. Around 32 weeks it switched to worrying about labor and delivery. Hope your AS goes well!
Baby is approximately the length of a banana, though he's measured about 5 days ahead at my last couple of ultrasounds.
Team blue.
Appointments: I have a standard appointment this afternoon. Our anatomy scan was last week. The high risk doctor said our son looks perfectly healthy and he added, "big hands, big feet, big noodle," telling my husband that if he were him, he would beat his chest with pride. Haha...what??
Symptoms: Heartburn. Congestion. Trouble sleeping. Some movement despite anterior placenta.
Raves: I'm off today, I enjoyed an amazing 20-week celebratory pedicure this morning, I have a pot roast in the slow cooker for dinner, and I'm looking forward to my prenatal yoga class tonight. Wahoo!
Rant: Can someone tell me why The Bump congratulated me this morning on being "almost" to the halfway point?
GTKY: Our list is ever expanding. When we finally choose a name (if it's prior to delivery), we'll likely keep our selection a secret.

Hahaha this has me cracking up!
Also, I am particularly glad to hear that you are feeling some movement at 20 weeks with an anterior placenta. I am not so patiently waiting to feel baby. It was always my favorite part of pregnancy.
I'm still gaggy but I haven't puked for several days. Still tired and wake up sore in the mornings. I don't think that will be going away.
I have been feeling little man moving around from time to time in there. It's nerve wrecking right now though because I don't consistently feel it. If I don't feel him for a while, I start getting nervous. I have to keep reminding myself that he's still small and I won't be able to feel him all the time.
Right now, we do have a name we both like (I love) but we aren't settling on it just yet. Micah is at the top of my list. I think it also goes well with our last name and our DS's name. DH mentioned Caleb the other day and I do like it too. My hiccup with it is it doesn't blend well with our last name. Our last name starts with B too and I fear it will come out sounding like Kayla instead if for instance he's in class and a teacher uses both his first and last names.
4. Still some nausea, but less. Still exhausted. My skin isn't perfect like it was pre-pregnancy. Wah!
5. I'm eager to feel movement. I think I've felt her a few times but nothing regular. I have a Doppler so I know she's ok, but I felt both my girls prior to this so I'm ready to feel this one regularly.
6. Depends who you ask. Lol. DH has chosen a name. I like it, but I'm not ready to commit. He shoots down all my other suggestions. Sigh.
Do you know the sex yet? Team Blue, Pink, Green? it's a boy!
Appointments this week?
yes on Friday, regular appointment but a week ahead to check my blood pressure
Symptoms?
mostly just RLP and trouble sleeping
Rant/Rave/Questions? I finally decided for sure last night the "things" I was feeling is indeed baby! It's been going on for about 2 weeks, but it was so small and sporadic I didn't know what it was for sure. The past few nights it has been consistently more and more!! I can't wait until it gets strong enough to feel on the outside so DH can experience it as well. He is so excited!
GTKY: Where are you at on the name front? Have you picked one? Options? The name is for sure Jordan Matthew after my DH....just wish I felt as happy about it as he does...
@KirstinH88 I have an anterior placenta too so I feel you on the wanting to feel this little one move. I've felt some random movements but totally unsure on if it was baby or something else. Hoping before too long I'll be able to feel her!
@M&Max I'm 20 weeks and, with an anterior placenta, can feel large movements (e.g., when he rolls over...confirmed when I felt it at our anatomy scan, told the tech, and she checked again because he was being uncooperative).
Were you feeling much more at 18 weeks with your boys?
@thecavfamily with DS I started feeling movement confidently around 16-17 weeks and pretty consistently by 19 weeks. I think I'm just anxious to be feeling this LO as it takes away a lot of my anxiety about how the baby is doing, etc. Hearing that at 20 weeks you can feel the big movements is reassuring though!
