June 2017 Moms

When to worry? 11 weeks!

So I am going to be 11 weeks tomorrow and I haven't gained 1 pound, the nausea is gone, I have no belly (1st time mom) and I feel FINE. What a dream right? Well now I find myself feeling extremely apprehensive tthat the baby isn't growing or that something has happened and that is why I'm doing so great. Is anyone else feeling this way or nervous?? I'm due June 3rd so I know I'm at the early stage of this month! Thanks in advance!!

Re: When to worry? 11 weeks!

  • This is all very common, and I totally get your freak out :) I'm 11w1d with #3 and my pants fit again (see ya, blump!) and I feel relatively normal again. The baby is still very small and tucked behind your pelvic bones so you may not see any real bump for a while. Hopefully you have a doctors appointment in the next week or so to help ease your mind, but it is very normal to feel this way.

I didn't even get a bump with my first until after 20 weeks. Don't worry, everything sounds normal.

ETA: its very normal to not really gain weight until you're farther along. Don't worry.
  • Okay thank you, I feel silly but I've just had this really nervous feeling now that everything feels "normal" that it means something is wrong. On top of that, my friend who is also a first time mom and is a week ahead of me already has a little belly. I do have my 12 week appointment next week and I know that will ease my mind. I HATED the nausea but at least it made me feel like the baby was okay! I love having this community of support!! Thank you all!!!!
  • I agree with what the others have said. As for the lack of any bump, go stalk the Hump Day Bump Day (HDBD) posts on the April and May boards and you will see that there are some ladies inching toward 19 weeks that still have hardly anything and have already had great anatomy scans even!  I think you will find some comfort looking at those!

  • I am feeling the same way and only at 9.5 weeks! My symptoms are all basically gone, not that they were super intense to begin with. I do have a bit of a bump, but I've had that for a couple of weeks now. I just saw baby last Friday and we had a strong heartbeat at 164. I have to wait until the end of the month for my next appointment, just trying to tell myself that this is a dream pregnancy!
  • I have a close friend of mine that had such a smooth 1st Tri that she literally had no clue she was pregnant until almost 4 months in. Try not to sweat it, you may very well just be one of the lucky ones! I would gladly give you some of my symptoms if I could! Lol.
Good luck with your 12 week appointment, let us know how it goes!

  • Apparently the placenta takes our hormone production by 12 weeks and as a result a lot of women feel a lot better symptom wise. By 11 weeks the placenta isn't working at full capacity yet but it's already making a major contribution to hormone production. One of my pregnancy apps told me that once the placenta starts to take over it tends to lead to a reduction in symptoms. So that sounds very normal!

As far as the belly: none of us are showing yet. It's all just bloating. The uterus doesn't rise out of the pelvis until 12 weeks and most first time moms still won't have a noticeable baby bump till a couple of weeks later. They may notice they they're body is a little bit different but no one else is likely to notice until later. So I'd say not having a belly at 10 weeks is totally and completely normal.

  • You're my due date buddy! I'm also due June 3rd. I will say that last week was so awful for me that I missed 2 days of work because I was so nauseous and exhausted. Then this week, my symptoms miraculously disappeared. I had a beautiful ultrasound yesterday though with a strong heart beat! I only scheduled this appointment to put my mind at ease following a spotting scare + absence of symptoms. Everything was perfect though, and my doctor told me that after seeing a strong heart beat at this stage your chances of loss are less than 1%. Try not to worry! And like others have said, bumps often don't pop up until several weeks later!

  • Don't worry unless you are bleeding freely.  with DD I had only gained 5lbs at 16 weeks and aside from one week of sore boobs was basically symptomless.  it was a completely normal pregnancy.  in all likelihood, everything is fine.

If it makes you feel better I feel way worse the second time around, and had already gained 5lbs at 8 weeks (likely mostly bloat related to constipation), so there's that.  and my abs basically immediately were like "oh we remember these hormones, we give up" so i have a total bloat-bump.  enjoy this while you can.
  • What you're experiencing is totally normal. Your hormones are leveling out, which is why you feel better.

I didn't show at all until after 20 weeks with either of my girls, nor had I gained much weight until then.

This is me. I am somewhere around 9-10 weeks (having my dating u/s on Sunday) and today I feel pretty awesome. Hungry even! Yesterday I felt awful, but today I haven't gagged too much, I'm not that nauseated, and the gross taste in my mouth has mostly dissipated. You would think I'd be happy but instead I'm an anxious mess.

  • I am due 6/3 too! Not a lot of us Saturday ticker changers on here. I have friends who loved being pregnant... you maybe one of those women. Enjoy it! This is my 2nd pregnancy and it is a lot different, my first I had non stop nausea and vomiting so that I lost 5lbs my first tri. Symptoms have been more mild this time around.

It's hard not to worry, but what you're describing sounds normal.  Enjoy feeling good for a bit!
    Edited for spelling.

  • I'm gonna post this here without starting a new thread because my question is very similar, but I'll make a new one if I don't get any response...

I am 9wks + 5 and i have had some.... aching? i guess to call it?  in my abdomen/uterus area the past couple of days.  I don't want to call it cramps because it isn't painful and does not feel like period cramps or diarrhea cramps.  I thought maybe I was constipated but i had a BM this morning...  I am super neurotic and FTM and panicking about EVERYTHING, but when do i worry?
  • @JessErinF sounds like your uterus doing normal uterus things. I've been having these feelings since I found out I was pregnant.
  • @JessErinF that sounds like it's just your uterus expanding. Totally normal. It's got a lot of growing to do, and growing a lot in a short period of tome is seldom comfortable.
  • Sounds pretty normal. I didn't feel or remember any of the lower abdomen aches with my first pregnancy.... but this time around I get a sore achey feeling in my lower stomach. I think it's just round ligaments and your body preparing for all the changes.

Id say if it's sharp or painful or on one side, to talk to your doctor!
