Did you or will you have an appointment this week? Yes, the 1 hour glucose tolerance test today.
How did it go / what are you looking forward to? It went so much better than expected! I know people gag and vomit about the weird drink, but it was just like a flat soda to me, and I had no issues. I sat still and read a book for an hour and all was well. Much relief! I hope it goes so well for all the other March mamas as their time to take it approaches.
Raves & rants: A rave for the very gentle nurse who took my blood the first part of the hour and a rant for the very stabby nurse who took it at the end. Ouch!
Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? No, everything is going well so I won't have any ultrasounds for a while. Kind of sad to not get to check in on my baby, but he holds dance parties every morning at 3:30 a.m. now, so I know he's healthy.
How far along are you? 24 weeks.
Multi or rocking the singleton? One kiddo only.
Do you know the gender(s) yet? Yes, it's a boy!
Have you announced yet? Yes indeed. My family is very excited.
When is your next appointment? Nothing until December 5th, which feels like forever away.
What are you looking forward to at your next appointment? Just hoping to continue to get good news.
GTNY: are you ready for thanksgiving/holidays? Both. No to Thanksgiving (we have a lot of house cleaning to do beforehand and I haven't had the energy or mental power to tackle it yet, plus I have an ENORMOUS stack of essays that I have to finish grading to get back to my students before then) but yes to Christmas. I adore the holiday spirit all throughout December, and having cute decor around my house, and making Christmas cookies with friends (usually we also drink during that party, but I'll make it up next year), and Advent services at church, and finally getting to wear cute sweaters and scarves in hot southern California, and so on. Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday.

How did it go / what are you looking forward to? went well! blood pressure was good, back up to my pre-pregnancy weight after losing a decent amount in the first tri, no protein in my urine, baby's heartbeat was in the 150s...doctor was overall pleased
Raves & rants: he said the only place we can't go in the US is Miami, so now we can start to plan our baby moon!
Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? not at the OB anymore...only with the perinatal

How did it go / what are you looking forward to? Fantastic! Easiest appointment yet. My doctor said I finally didn't look green and he's right. I think the worst of HG is over. I've gotten sick a couple mornings this week but otherwise I've been fine and haven't even needed my zofran

Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? Yes. Baby is now breech and still wouldn't show us her sweet face
How far along are you? 22 weeks 5 days today
Multi or rocking the singleton? Singleton
Do you know the gender(s) yet? Baby girl
Have you announced yet? Yes! We announced it really early, back when we got the NIPT results. Heck I announced we were pregnant at like 7 weeks. I'm so excited that I overshare. This baby is truly a miracle. We've been married for 19 years, told we were infertile, adopted four kids and now we're pregnant.
When is your next appointment? 12/1
What are you looking forward to at your next appointment? Hopefully catching a glimpse of our girl's face
GTNY: are you ready for thanksgiving/holidays?
Thanksgiving - yes! We both have big families and we've hosted it at our house for the last five years. This year someone else is hosting and I'm sooooo grateful. All we have to bring is rolls. Christmas - no! I haven't bought a thing yet. I'm seriously slacking this year. Amazon Prime will be my BFF next week.
Did you or will you have an appointment this week? On Monday 11/7. I'm super late on updating.
How did it go / what are you looking forward to? It went well! Anatomy scan, cervix check. Everything looks good! Measuring slightly ahead. They are 13 and 14 oz each (or were 5 days ago, they should be close to 1 lb each now).
Raves & rants: My ultrasound tech was a little bit rough. It can be complicated to get all of those pictures for two active babies. I have bruises on my belly now! Ouch! My appointment was scheduled right after lunch, and I had a sip of my husband's Coke, so Baby A was going NUTS kicking and punching and flipping. Fortunately, we were able to get all the pictures we needed.

I have to go in every 2 weeks for cervix checks now, despite everything looking good with my cervix. Better safe than sorry for twins.
How far along are you? 21 weeks 3 days. Appointment was at 20 weeks 5 days

Do you know the gender(s) yet? Found out at the appointment: 2 boys!
Have you announced yet? Yes, at this point I look like I'm 7 or 8 months pregnant... so if I hadn't announced it would be pretty awkward.
When is your next appointment? 11/21 cervix check only. 12/5 growth check.
What are you looking forward to at your next appointment? Nothing LOL. OK I guess, looking forward to continue to hear that everything is going ok, but its hard to get excited about a transvaginal ultrasound in which I don't get to see the babies...
GTNY: are you ready for thanksgiving/holidays? NOT AT ALL! I can't believe that we're less than 2 weeks away from Thanksgiving. I'm happy about it, though, because I'm taking that whole week off of work! I'm not going out of town, my Thanksgiving dinner is about 20 min away at my mom's house, and I don't have to cook anything! I'm hoping to really maximize that week off getting some much needed rest in between all of the nesting.
I make a family recipe dessert for Christmas Eve with my Dad's family (he is one of 10 kids, this party is always HUGE). I'm probably going to ask for some help with the prep for Christmas eve dessert making. My family doesn't really exchange presents, so I don't really have a lot of shopping to do.
I guess what' I'm trying to say is that the holidays snuck up on me, but I suppose its OK because I don't really have to do anything too crazy.
