Rant/Rave/Questions? I just want to know that there's actually something in there! cannot wait for my anatomy scan on the 18th
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life? I would love to be musically gifted in some way. I always thought it would be cool to play the stand up bass. I also thought it would be fun to act!
Appointments this week?: Not really, just need to get blood drawn to complete my NT blood work.
Symptoms?: Fatigue, round ligament pain
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rave: my belly finally popped a few days ago! I love my little bump
Rant: I realized this morning that I have no clue what hospital my dr delivers at! I never thought to ask since I'm always rushed in and out during appointments and it was never something that was brought up. I called this morning and the only hospital they deliver at is the one I didn't want (they don't have an adequate NICU, very c-section pushy when I want to try a vaginal birth, etc). Now I'm torn between sticking with this (need to do research on this hospital since I hear mixed things) or switching to a doctor that delivers at my preferred hospital. I feel so dumb for not thinking to ask about this earlier
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life?: I wish I was better at cooking/baking! I'm not terrible, but I would love to make beautiful dishes that really "wow" people.
Symptoms? ligament pain and cramping which scares me a bit. Still nose bleeds, back and hip pain
Rant/Rave/Questions? I had my 18 week scan last week. I need a follow up US because there was something they couldn't see in the baby's stomach. He said either, his tummy was just empty or something could be wrong, which is rather rare. Then they have me waiting until the 22nd for a follow up. If it's just a matter of a stomach being empty, why are they torturing me for so long
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life? I'd like to travel and get into photography. I'd also love to take some drum and piano lessons.
How big is baby? Pomegranate or large order of fries
Appointments this week? None
Symptoms? RLP, still gagging when brushing teeth. Fatigue, forgetfulness. Headaches off and on.
Rant/Rave/Questions? Rave: sharing gender with coworkers and friends this week. We might do something on social media but probably will wait a bit. I do have college friends who would love to know it's a girl and don't feel like contacting them all individually. Haha. Also can't believe I'm 17 weeks. It seems surreal. DH is finally starting to think about names. I think seeing her on ultrasound moving for the first time made a difference for him.
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life? I have little to no interest in learning to meal plan and cook better but I know it would help. So that would be one. But one I'd really enjoy would be pottery or ceramics or photography.
Symptoms? I'm sick with a cold so that's no fun. Pregnancy wise - irritable lol
Rant/Rave/Questions? My 2 year old has coxsackie and I have a cold. That's not a fun combo by any means. I want to feel the baby move more. After 3 kids you would think I'd be more patient or aware. Nope.
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life? Gardening - like self sustainable living
How far along are you? 16 Weeks! Excited to say 4 months!!
How big is baby? A Dill Pickle!
Appointments this week? Tomorrow we go in for the quad screening, they said something also about an internal sonogram to check on my cervix and something else. They also need to see if I still have my clot. I'm jeleous of everyone talking about their a/s coming up. The doctor said if the baby cooperates we might be able to find out the gender
Symptoms? Doing better this week. RLP is a bit better, only threw up once this week. Stuffy nose is driving me crazy, just bought a humidifier, hopefully that helps
Rant/Rave/Questions? I want to be able to feel the baby! I'm waiting for the "flutters" to start, but I got nothing
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life? Good question. Maybe be able to do my own photography with a dark room, or pottery. I have no artistic skills so it would be nice.
Heartburn. Uterine stretching. Some movement though, as a FTM, I am not fully confident it's really baby that I'm feeling.
Rave: My husband is reading up, on board with pregnancy/child care classes, and has been so good to me. He talks to our son nightly via my expanding belly.
I would love to take professional cooking classes. I get by okay but am self-taught and could benefit greatly from professional instruction.
Nausea has lessened. Still the occasional puking in the morning. I really feel like an old woman this time around. My body just hurts at times. Sleep is not great either.
My son is getting more excited about baby brother each day. He asks to look at this app and have me show him how big baby is and what he looks like. He will also come up and put his hand on my belly and talk to baby brother saying, "Kick me baby!" I love it and can't wait for him to actually be able to feel baby brother's kicks.
I'm not sure if this counts as a hobby but I would love to just be able to travel the world. There are so many places I would love to see.
Symptoms? Food aversion seems to be going away - finally!
Rant/Rave/Questions? Just ready to feel this baby moving! Otherwise, I still have days where I just don't feel pregnant.
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life? Either photography so I could capture the most perfect photos of kids or cooking (which I hate)... so, probably photography!
2! Anatomy scan Wednesday and regular OB appointment Thursday
Symptoms?
leg cramps, round ligament pain, hip and back pain, still get a pain in my right buttcheek lol, occasional headaches, and ughh the gagging/throwing up while brushing my teeth has to stop!
Rant/Rave/Questions?
Sometimes the front desk ladies at the OB office are so clueless it gets annoying!/No bleeding since the one scare on Thursday / full bladder or not for AS?
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life? oh I would love to be artsy of some sort, learn photography, painting, singing, instrument, etc
@Nolegirl1185 I've never been asked to have a full bladder for the anatomy scan. But I guess it could be specific to the type of ultrasound machine your office uses? Maybe others can chime in on their experience.
@M&Max I asked when I got the appointment today and they said yes I need a full bladder since I am not yet 20 weeks. I had a full bladder when I left work at 1:00, appointment was at 2:30 and they didn't call me back until 3:40. AS took 50 minutes and finally at 4:20 she asked me to empty my bladder because it was too full lol. Go figure.
Symptoms? Finally got a bump! It popped out last Thursday.
The nausea is gone, but I've felt heartburn and indigestion, and randomly threw up this morning. I guess the baby wants to keep me on my toes?
Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm feeling a bit more irritable lately, and find myself annoyed at the smallest things. What have you ladies done to help with the mood swings?
GTKY: If time and money were no object, what hobby or talent would you like to cultivate in your life? I'd love to be more crafty and DIY.
@Nolegirl1185 I can't believe you held it that long either! I tried to have a full bladder at my last one and couldn't handle it. Fortunately that was fine with them and I really hope they don't ask it of me at my a/s because I would be so miserable I couldn't concentrate on baby girl on the screen in front of me!
@Missa0830 honestly for crankiness I've just been making sure I go to bed early and avoid too much sugar or caffeine. Not much else I can do. I imagine exercise would help if mt body would let me do it more.
I get notifications about prepping for my appointments. I remember at one of my ultrasounds after 12 weeks I had called and asked before I got a notification and the nurse said I need to have a full bladder for every scan until I reach 3rd trimester.
Well at my 18 week scan the instructions said nothing about a full bladder so I didn't bother and it was not an issue at all! I never drink as much as they say either, nor do I hold it for that long and they always make a point of saying what a good job I did drinking and how well they can see everything. So I take their whole full bladder thing with a grain of salt LOL
@M&Max you have no idea! It was literally painful lol. And the tech was NOT happy that I drank gatorade on the way to the appointment because little man was SOOO active. She kept getting frustrated and digging the probe harder and harder on my belly. Then she would be really soft and quickly jab me trying to get him to move 'just so'. It was worth every second, but man it was uncomfortable/painful!
@HGRich I have never been told by my OB to have a full bladder for any ultrasound he has done and I have had 4. No one mentioned anything to me about having a full bladder for the AS either. I just read about it and asked around so I went with a full one just in case and ended up needing it to be full. However I totally could have emptied it twice while waiting haha!
Re: Monday Ticker Change 11/7

Roughly the size of a large mango.
