Anyone heard of NaNoWriMo, aka National Novel Writing Month? It's when you join thousands of people across the world in writing 50k words of a novel in the month of November. I've done it four years and reached the 50k goal two of those. I decided to do it again this year but I'm so exhausted and the pregnancy brain is making me kind of idiotic. I may not make it to the end this year but I'm glad it fell during the second trimester!
We just got an accepted offer on a house! With a lot of work and some good timing, we should be in by Christmas!! I am DONE living with my mom, so this couldn't have happened at a better time!
My birthday is Friday and I plan on celebrating all weekend. Mani/Pedi, Brunch, Dinner, Cake. I'm so excited. I love making a big deal out of my birthday. Maybe that's a FFFC
@HGRich I've never done it myself, but I was planning on doing it with my Young Author's Club this year. Until the club basically had to die because I keep having to cancel from being sick/too tired after school.
What's your novel about this year?
Me: 31 DH: 36 Married 5 years DD born 8/30/13 #2 expected 4/25/17
Anyone else watching "This Is Us" this fall? I am hooked. It's the only show (other than Pretty Little Liars- consider that a FFC on a Wednesday) that I actually watch each week versus just watching reruns of shows. Kind of reminds me of Parenthood and I feel like I am going to get way too emotionally invested in this show!
@cafedisco I'm actually hoping to be a rebel and add 25k apiece to the two novels I finished in previous years. One historical fiction set in ancient Persia and the other sci-fi involving time travel. I got bogged down in research on the fiction and physics beyond my skill set in the sci-fi so I'm hoping to change a lot of things.
@wagnerw I haven't watched it but my sister does. She said the adopted brothers story line is the one that's any good so I didn't bother. She also loved Parenthood but I never watched. Family dramas usually aren't my thing, but I adore Mandy Moore and for that alone I might try it.
@wagnerw Love 'This is Us' and holy hotness, Milo Ventimiglia in that opening scene! He could have really spiced up Gilmore Girls back in the day.
I'm trying to watch the new series on HBO - Westworld. So far, interesting. It was slow to start but I'm sticking with it because of how different it is.
Any "The Affair" fans on showtime? That starts up soon! I've never been into dramas but this one gets my attention. It's as drama as they get.
After reading my post, I should probably go outside sometimes.... :P

@wagnerw, I am LOVING This is Us! It is the only show I follow every week otherwise it is very hit or miss when I even watch anything on TV. I loved Parenthood too and was sad when it was over.
@wagnerw will my pregnancy hormones be able to handle it? I really want to watch it, but have actually avoided the show because the previews made me cry so much! I loved Parenthood, so it is probably up my ally.
I am loving This Is Us. I generally am a week or two behind on TV though since I am essentially going to bed when my toddler goes to bed so I watch what little TV I can in 15-10 min time slots. It takes forever to watch a show!
@super_sam03 Dh really wants to watch Westworld, we just haven't gotten around to starting it yet.
I LOVE The Affair! It's probably one of my favorite shows. I like the way they tell the story and each character is written very well, the casting is perfect.
I am loving This is Us though I did cry my eyes out last week. @super_sam03 The Terrible Towel scene?? Yeah, that certainly got my attention!
Anyone else into Timeless?
@super_sam03 & @ashleym112 I, too, am looking forward to the return of The Affair, though I thought they could have ended it at last season's conclusion. I really like the way they show scenes from multiple perspectives.
@ashleym112@thecavfamily Is it just me or is Pacey's character just the best? He's very endearing and you just want to pat him on the back and say *there*there* (Joshua Jackson will always be Pacey to me) - It's really a great, original show.

I really enjoy 'This is Us' and I was also a huge Parenthood fan. I am also watching 'Designated Survivor' which is really interesting.
@rachelmiller03 The previews really worried be too... the whole baby thing had me freaked out. But it was honestly just one really sad episode and it actually turned out to be okay. Some good came from all the sad. The rest of the episodes aren't as sad (they still have their moments) but its a lot more of the ups and downs of life and getting through it as a family.
@super_sam03 I love that you called him Pacey and I nearly missed it. Yes, his character is my favorite. I slipped that name (Cole) onto our list but DH vetoed.
@super_sam03 I'm really hoping he spices up Gilmore Girls in a couple of weeks on Netflix! @rachelmiller03 Parts of it can be really emotional, but there is also humor!

agree. I love Joshua Jackson, I think his storyline is rough, not only with their loss but with his family too.
I haven't seen "This is Us" I'm going to have to look it up. However, I have been watching American Housewife on Tuesday nights. Its a 30 min sitcom but its SO FUNNY!

I STILL haven't watched the Parenthood finale. Can't do it. I also don't think I can invest so much emotion into another show, so I'm going to avoid "This is Us" for about 5 years and then binge watch it over some free weekend DH is gone for something lol. That's definitely in my 5 year plan
Also, both DH and I watch PLL, we just don't talk about it in public!

@Tinkerbell413 That sounds like a good plan! I am excited for PLL to end and finally get answers. I keep watching because I figure I've stuck it out this long but gosh is it hard to sit through some of the episodes now! Excited for the final 10 episodes, even though that will be right after baby is born. Maybe that'll make middle of the night feedings more exciting

Don't kid yourself. PLL will NEVER give us answers.

Never. I'm sure the last episode will have a clift-hanger in the last 30 seconds like all the other episodes haha. I just need to know how it ends!
My sister in law just had her 4th baby and it was a surprise girl!!! All the ultrasounds and drs had told her that she was having a boy (which would make 4 boys under 4) but it's a little lady! She and her husband and all of us are just shocked! So crazy - now they need a name and clothes completely on the fly.

I really hope this is me. But I doubt it...
congrats to to your sister in law though, how exciting!
I feel like I just got over a cold (that turned into the sinus infection from hell), and yesterday my husband informs me that he's definitely coming down with another one. Bracing myself for round #2...... Ugh!!
