Re: Monday Ticker Change 11.7
GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy? I really had to change my birth and even pregnancy expectations. Since I never had any health issues before, I just assumed that I would get the home birth I wanted. I had no idea how hard and unpredictable pregnancy truly is. I never would have thought I'd be visiting the hospital and taking medication. Learning lesson for sure.
GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy? FTM so I thought I would be able to keep up with my exercise routine fairly easily since it's what I've done for the past 4-6 years. Was I wrong.

I've tried not to have many expectations, but I am a little surprised how our friends have disappeared since we've gotten pregnant. Oh well, they'll come back when it's their turn.
Im carrying THAT around?!

GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy? As a FTM, I had no expectations and just took it one day at a time. I feel lucky that I haven't had any major complications. My main concerns has been gaining more weight than I had anticipated (which seems to be sitting in my legs and face), as well as swelling everywhere. But, if that's the worst, then I think I am still doing OK with the time I have left. My hair has also gone to crap and I don't feel that pregnancy "glow" they all talk about it. The old wives tale of beautiful skin and hair when you're having a boy did not get to me. At all.
Non-me related... I thought people would be nicer to those who are pregnant: opening doors, getting out of the way when you're walking by, etc. Nope. None of those perks, ha.

GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy? I've been pretty blessed this pregnancy to be honest. If I could think of one thing it would be that this pregnancy has been a constant worry. Being an IVF pregnancy I thought that once I got pregnant I would stop worrying, but I didn't. Then I thought once I got to the 12 week mark, then the 20th, & 30th. I think I'll be ok once he actually makes his appearance.

GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy? I'm going to copy @Kacie209 here because I'm having a very similar experience: As a FTM, I had no expectations and just took it one day at a time. I feel lucky that I haven't had any major complications. My main concerns has been gaining more weight than I had anticipated (which seems to be sitting in my legs and face), as well as swelling everywhere. GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy? Not being induced. I was induced 3 weeks early with my first son because his size. He was 9 pounds and his head was 16 and 3/4 inches. So to prevent a CS they induced. Well I am now measuring ahead and after tomorrows ultra sound I am sure they are not going to want me to go full term...I really wanted to experience the whole natural labor experience. So I hope that my body wants him out at a decent time too! I am going to try to hold off on being induced for awhile.
36! Officially "early term"
Bump says papaya. I think chihuahua is more apt haha
Checkup this Friday, I think.
Question that crosses my mind every so often: If you don't get any belly stretch marks, does that mean you're super stretchy and might not tear during delivery?
Rant: The cute baby kicks are starting to really hurt.
Rant: We narrowed our baby name list down to 5 but I am still not sure who this person I'm carrying around is.
I have had Twix and Snickers on the brain, so I hid some from our trick or treaters and I am still eating a couple per day. I am a horrible human being.
GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy?
Honestly, I didn't have any expectations going in. I will admit that I definitely feel more handicapped than I thought I would. I never thought that I'd have to psych myself up for putting on socks.

I had an unexpectedly free weekend and got ambitious about getting stuff done.
GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy?
@ea301 I am totally on the same page with not expecting to feel so restricted. Pants are now my nemesis, we do battle everyday. I also wasn't expecting to have almost everyone I encounter make a comment on my pregnancy. Whether they step out of line and say something inappropriate/offensive, or just ask generally about my baby, I didn't expect to have 20 conversations a day about it. Luckily, I'm pretty short (5'2"), so whenever I am buying something at a high counter, sometimes people don't notice or comment.
GTKY: What expectations have you had to change during this pregnancy?
This may be TMI but I've given up completely my expectation of staying fresh and dry...ugh I'm constantly sweating and feeling swampy and clammy everywhere! I did not have this problem before pregnancy! I've also given up on the expectation that being one of those adorable pregnant women with all the adorable professional maternity clothes and heels is something I can accomplish - first off I discovered that I hate spending money on maternity clothes and secondly, I just plain don't feel like putting in that kind of effort! I just want to get by with what I have and spend money on some back to work clothes when the time comes!
