Re: IF Check-in Week of 11/7

  • 1. How far along are you? 10+2 today!
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Pretty much all the same ones (nausea, exhaustion, sore boobs), plus my lower back is bothering me now.
    3. When is your next appointment? We have a consultation with MFM specialist on 11/15. Next prenatal appointment isn't until 11/30... so far away!
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I took my last PIO and oral estrace yesterday and today feels so strange med-free! Anyone else going off their IVF/FET meds soon? I know it's standard practice but it feels so strange to stop everything cold turkey like that!

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays? We have plans with close friends who live in our neighborhood for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! Haven't thought ahead to Christmas/Hanukah yet but I really want to host a Hanukah party. The only problem is that the first night of Hanukah is Christmas Eve and the 8th night is New Year's Eve, so I feel like most people will be preoccupied or traveling. I was thinking that a Hanukah/New Year's Eve party sounds like a lot of fun! But with this baby making me pass out so early these days I'm not sure I'm up for anything on New Year's Eve. I unfortunately won't be able to see any of my family for the holidays this year as they live far away and traveling on the holidays is crazy!

  • 1. How far along are you? 7w3d. My EDD was updated to 6/23 after my appointment last week!
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? The fatigue is still going strong. Every day I feel like I get a little more nauseous and today is pretty bad. Still haven't actually gotten sick but I think I'm headed for that soon, plus my boobs are hurting more each day.
    3. When is your next appointment?  One week from today, November 14th! This will be our first visit with my OBGYN after being released from our RE.
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: My in laws were in town this weekend and we told them about the baby, and they are so excited! They also filled us in that DH cousin and his wife are having a hard time getting pregnant and have been going through IVF without success yet. We will see them at Thanksgiving so his mom is going to tell his aunt so that they have time to process before having to see us. Definitely glad to know so that I can make as little fuss about our pregnancy as possible at Thanksgiving.

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays? For Thanksgiving we will be going to DH's family in the Philly area, and we are hosting my family for Christmas this year for the first time! I'm super excited but also kind of nervous about being in charge.

  • I don't know if introduced myself to the other IF thread

Marisa! Had an early MC in May 2015 a little after 6 weeks. Then this past summer tried 3 rounds of IUI and then finally IVF where it worked!

    1. How far along are you? 9 weeks 6 days
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? This week just tired and slightly sore boobs. Nausea has subsided .
    3. When is your next appointment?   Next Tuesday
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: my mood swings are out of control.

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays? Thanksgiving we split between my inlaws and my aunts and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I host!

  • 1. How far along are you? 8 weeks
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Breast tenderness, food aversions, constipation, fatigue
    3. When is your next appointment?   Friday for our last ultrasound before we “graduate” to our OB!
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions:

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays? We are hosting Thanksgiving this year for my family.  We still have to go to DH’s family’s Thanksgiving for lunch.  Christmas is always crazy, but it may be different this year.  The downside of being from the same town is that holidays are always crazy because both of our families expect us to be at everything.  DH is finally breaking it to his siblings that we will no longer be purchasing gifts for adults (except parents/grandparents).  It’s just too expensive to buy gifts for people that really don’t need or want anything and half the time will return whatever they get.

  • 1. How far along are you? 8 weeks today!

    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? still no symptoms at all. I am still feeling really tired all the time and my hips and butt are getting huge but I am still feeling great.

    3. When is your next appointment?  Our last appointment at the fertility doctor is this Thursday and then we get released to our OB.  I'm so nervous and not ready to leave. The weekly u/s are so reassuring that we're doing well.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: um....just starting to freak out about Christmas!  Usually I'm almost finished by Black Friday and this year I haven't bought a since thing!  Also, thankgod tomorrownis Election Day. I can't handle anymore anti-whoever TV and the wasted trees sitting in my mailbox. Makes great kindling for the fire pit though.

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays?  Thanksgiving will just be at my moms with DH, my sister and her boyfriend. Then we usually go shopping or to the casino. Christmas Eve is the big holiday for our family. Also at my moms but with all the extended family. Then we go to church together and afterwards DH and I wrap all the gifts and play Santa for my stepson. We are also planning to announce our little gummy bear to our family at Christmas too!

@ClaireCF I'm in the Philly area!  It's a great place to be for Christmas time!  If you're going to be close to the city, head to Macy's on chestnut for the light show and dickens village. The German Christmas village is also within walking distance. My absolute favorite Christmas activities!!
  • 1. How far along are you?  9 weeks today!  New EDD by the way after seeing the doc, I am now due 6/12/17

    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week?  constant nausea, and exhaustion....
    3. When is your next appointment?   Wednesday!!!!!
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: just sick and tired of being sick and tired!!!!

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays?  home to NJ!  I get a week off of work for thanksgiving *yay* and the week is already booked solid with friends and family!  woo!
  • 1. How far along are you?  9w1d (because my due date just got pushed back one day from 6/10 to 6/11)

    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? tired, very sore boobs

    3. When is your next appointment?   It was today. Had a great u/s and I have been released to my OB.

    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: sick of my husband being on patrol. This past week he worked 6 out of 7 days, and it was a long week being pregnant with a three year old....and I broke my toe this week too.

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays? Nothing planned for Thanksgiving, DH is working, my parents will be Canada and my SIL will have a week old baby, who we will visit but not do the huge dinner.  Christmas we will celebrate but it will be small since we are closing and moving into our new house December 15-17th.

  • 1. How far along are you? 9 weeks today
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? sore boobs and just tired
    3. When is your next appointment?  ultrasound on Thursday and I can't wait to see baby again
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: Ready for my ultrasound on Thursday.

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays? My mom always cooks Thanksgiving dinner at my house (she lives with me) and my sister comes over and we pig out and veg out all day. We always have a family Christmas party at my house the week before Christmas and all my siblings and nieces and nephews come over and we eat, hang out, and open presents. Mom & I have our own Christmas on Christmas Day. I also travel to my cousins on my dad's side for the family Christmas party the week of Christmas. Things will be different this year since my dad is no longer with us. It'll be odd not having him around for everything.
  • How far along are you?
    8 weeks
What symptoms are you experiencing this week?
mild boob soreness, mild nausea in afternoon/evening, GAS, BLOAT, constipation, fatigue
    When is your next appointment?
    Next week
    Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rant:  I've gained 5 lbs somehow.  Rave:  I love my snoogle pillow.  That thing is great if you have sore hips/legs at night. Also glad I broke out the maternity pants.  Ahhhh.

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays?
Thanksgiving at the inlaws, even though sadly my MIL is a very bland cook.  My parents own a Christmas tree farm so they are super busy right now and don't really have time to do Thanksgiving.  I will be going there to pick up my tree and wreath though.
Christmas we usually try to do Christmas Eve with the inlaws and New Years with my side, but might just have my family come over to our house this year instead of driving to them.

  • @kdanjou I've gained about 5 pounds as well, which is upsetting to me because I feel like it's too early. But I'm wondering if some of that has been from IF treatments? I don't know, definitely trying to be careful though!

  • 1. How far along are you?  8w6d
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week?  The past day or two seems to be letting up a bit as last week was the worst.  Horrible morning sickness and fatigue.  I almost feel human again.
    3. When is your next appointment?   Friday - I'm hoping to graduate to my OB.  FX this LO is growing healthy and strong.
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions:  As of tomorrow the political ads will be gone!  YESSSSS

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays?  I'm hosting Thanksgiving which should be a disaster since our sides don't really get along.  Christmas is easier since we spent Christmas Eve with DH's family and Christmas Day with mine.
  • 1. How far along are you? 11 + 4
    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week? Constant nausea and evening/nightly headaches. I think the headaches are coming from dehydration. Water makes me so sick! I had DH give me some IV fluids at home and even after a liter of normal saline, my veins are still flat. Ugh.
    3. When is your next appointment?   Tuesday the 15, a week from today!
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: I feel like a balloon and I don't think it's just bloat. The only food I can handle are the bad ones and it's not looking too good on me.

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays? We are getting a head start by doing Thanksgiving this Friday with the in-laws. They are heading to Florida for a few months so we have to celebrate early.
  • @Elyse1384 If my appointment goes well Friday, I get to graduate to my OB, too!!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 aww that is sweet of you thank you!  Actually it did not go well at all and I'm really depressed.  I had extremely high BP and she sent me to the hospital to get monitored for a few hours to see if it would go down, and it did, very slowly.  So she put me on lebetalol and told me to come in today for  a recheck, and next week, and that she would refer me to a perinatologist for a high-risk pregnancy.  I feel like I've done something terrible, even though I know its not really my fault, and I just hope my baby is ok.  :-(
  • @JessErinF I'm so sorry your appointment did not go well.  I can't even imagine the nervousness and fear you must be experiencing right now.  I hope your appointment today goes better.  If you do have to go to a perinatologist, remember, a lot of ladies with high-risk pregnancies have healthy babies.

  • @JessErinF I'm so sorry you had a scary appointment :( Did they do an ultrasound to make sure your baby is ok? The little beans are pretty well protected in there so hopefully all will be well. I hope you have a better appt today!!

@kmd0501 Congrats on that beautiful ultrasound photo!

AFM, I actually had a rough night myself. I noticed some light spotting right before I left work yesterday at 6:30. I freaked out because I just stopped my PIO on Sunday, so I was worried that something bad was happening. I called my OB office and spoke to the on call doctor and she did ease my mind a little. She said it's normal to spot after stopping progesterone and that spotting during the first tri is normal anyway. She said to only go to the ER if it gets heavy like a period, but otherwise she said if I need peace of mind to call the office in the morning and schedule an appointment. I was actually still spotting slightly this morning so I called as soon as the office opened and was able to be seen at 9:30. Everything looked perfect, we heard the HB again, and my baby was measuring 10w 5d which is exactly what I am, so I feel relieved. I'm pushing this out of my mind now and just trying to relax.

  • @wifeinraleigh28 glad everything turned out for you!  I would be a wreck.  Already am!!!  No, they didn't do any scan or even doppler for heart rate.  Very disappointed.  Today is just a BP check, not even going to see the doctor I hope, but next week maybe they will scan again.
  • @wifeinraleigh28 I'm glad everything turned out OK.  Stopping meds is always nerve-wracking and I end up analyzing every little symptom change wondering if it was because I stopped meds and something was wrong.  I'm eager to stop meds now, but I know I'll go through the same emotional dance when the day comes.

@JessErinF Sorry you're appointment didn't go well. I hope things go better today
  • @wifeinraleigh28 so glad everything is ok! I actually had a similar experience yesterday. On Wednesday I had noticed some slightly discolored discharge and on Thursday it was sort of brown so I called my OB and they had me come in, did an ultrasound, and everything looked perfect. I was supposed to have my first appointment with the OB on Monday so they just did all my initial stuff yesterday instead. Of course that included a PAP and she warned me that I could have some spotting from that, which of course I am having, and am trying to remember that I was reassured that everything was perfectly fine just 24 hours ago.

  • @JessErinF Sending you good BP vibes today!! When you had your previous scan did you find out if you were having twins or a singleton?

@Elyse1384 It is SO nerve racking stopping the meds!! I feel like I've been waiting for something to go wrong since I stopped :( But the doctor I saw today actually said that if your placenta hasn't taken over by 8 weeks that all the progesterone is doing at that point is postponing an inevitable miscarriage. But most doctors keep you on progesterone until 10 weeks just to be safe. I have a feeling my body is just adjusting to not having that daily fix of hormones lol.

  • @ClaireCF There is nothing about pregnancy that is for the faint of heart! I really wish we could have a constant camera on our uterus so we can always know what is going on in there! I find that if it's been more than a week since my last appointment I start to wonder if maybe something horrible has happened since my last a-okay scan. Ugh! Glad everything is going just fine for you :)

  • @kmd0501 Congratulations on graduating!!!  I know what you mean about being a little sad leaving your RE, though.  The staff at my RE’s office is unbelievably wonderful!

@wifeinraleigh28 I’m glad everything was okay this morning and you were able to get that reassurance.

    2. What symptoms are you experiencing this week?  I eat a lot and still don't feel full, then I got a call from my fertility case manager today to remind me I don't need to eat for two.  How did she know??  Other than that, just feeling tired and having mild cramps on and off.
    3. When is your next appointment?   I graduated too!  My next appointment will be with the OB on 11/30 at 11 weeks.
    4. Rants/Raves/Questions: So relieved to see a healthy growing baby on ultrasound yesterday.  It looks like a gummy bear!

QOTW: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays?  I have to be on call for work Thanksgiving week.  I'm planning to use it as an excuse to not attend any family events to avoid any drama.  Really don't want to see DH's family if I don't have to o:)
