Can I ask about how much you're paying—particularly if you're in the Midwest?

I've been doing very random and sparse bump pictures, but would like to get prettied up for some offish photos. Still feeling great at 32 weeks, but not sure at what point women generally do their photos. Don't want to pay too much, but also want something more than a friend with a decent camera, haha! Would like DH in a few but nothing too corny. Can you tell I'm having trouble getting to sleep tonight? :P

My close friend did my maternity shoot for me at 29 weeks (I'm 32 this week)! I was nervous that my bump wouldn't be pronounced enough but it was fine! Also, my friend recommendrd anywhere 29-34 weeks. Did a bunch of just me and some with the hubby! It was really fun, the locale was at a lake around sunset and it was virtually empty so it was super serene, and I felt super beautiful! Got these 3 below as a sneak peek - dying to see the others she took! Definitely do it if you have the chance, we could all use a day to get pampered and it'll be a great memory! I didn't pay since it was a friend, but I do some photography on the side and I'd say $150-$250 with a disc is typical.

My work had a pro photographer at our family day to take family pix but I was barely had a bump (it was about a month ago) and the pictures are fine but I don't really look very pregnant so it was disappointing. So now I have thought about getting some just so i have a few but idk. A local photographer is doing fall mini sessions for families Oct/Nov it is a 20 min session for $35 so I may end up signing up - I just want a few pictures actually looking pregnant but not a full on photo shoot or anything. I have no idea what I would wear for something like that anyway

I just had my maternity session last week. It was a combo maternity/family session. I just did it more casual rather than buying a dress for just the pictures. I just got the proofs last night so I will post a couple edited ones when I get them back.

We did ours recently, I had one taken of me solo but I didn't like any pics without DH in it so he's in all of them. I bought 3 dresses for the occasion and narrowed it down to one, DH was in matching suit, I went to get hair and makeup done beforehand. With editing and everything, ours will come out to about $1K. I also booked our newborn sessions and that is a $2K package, where I will get my fav pic turned into an oil painting. Total costs around the same as what our wedding photographer cost years ago. I saw cheaper deals online but I'm very picky about pics - and if the stroller and crib each cost a grand, I feel our pics deserve the same attention

We just did ours last week and putting myself in front of a camera is not something I would normally do. We found a newborn photographer that we ended up reserving and she had a deal going that if you purchase the newborn sitting, she'll include a mini maternity session and a canvas newborn photo. So while we paid $125 for the newborn sitting in advance (and essentially the maternity session), we know that the real cost is in the price of the photos and those packages start at $400 when we go to view our baby portraits.

I did mine last week at 33.5 weeks... I didn't do them with DD and really regret it. The ribbon around my belly was blue, because he's a police officer but I like the black white version better.

My SIL took some for us Sunday morning and I'm just waiting for her to share them with me. I will probably have my mom do some newborn pictures. Both of them have really great cameras and a lot of talent but neither of them do it professionally.

We are doing ours in a documentary style — so less posing, more hanging out. Photographer is coming over Saturday morning, husband will make breakfast while I sit and watch (as usual) and we'll probably walk the dog. We recently bought our first home and did some kitchen renovations, so I'm excited to have the photos taken at home. They'll be useful as photos to remember the pregnancy, nice photos of husband and me, and photos to document the house.

We had some done because my husband and I are notoriously bad about taking pictures together. I have mixed emotions about them because of how different my body looks now. I hadn't realized how round my face has gotten and how much bigger my arms are. But at the same time there are some good ones of us that I'm glad we now have.

I paid $250 for the session and then $1000 for the digital files. She wasn't the cheapest photographer out there by any means but her pictures are beautiful and it was worth it for me.

I did some last month around 29 weeks. Family maternity shots with my husband, toddler and I. Pleased with how they turned out. We went to a local park during the golden hour of light - hour before sunset.

The photographer I used was just starting out and building her portfolio so our hour photo shoot with 20 edited photos was $70.

We have a family session planned in two weeks. It will be $100 for unlimited time and outfit changes and flash drive of 150-300 photos. We'll do a newborn session too, which will be $225.

We plan on doing something simple with a fall theme. My sister has been taking our photos for all baby related needs and she will take these as well. Payment is taking her family out to dinner or lunch. But this time I want to gift her a date night for her and her hubby as they have been under so much stress lately they deserve a break and it gives me time with my nieces... Double win! I want to take some with DH so yes he will be there for sure I mean it's his baby too ;-)

Know that if youre paying below 200$ chances are youre not working with a professional photographer who pays taxes, licensing fees and insurance. Just putting that out there.

I took some at 33 weeks (i'm now 35 weeks) when I went to visit my best friend. She is a photographer. H was not with me, so we do want to get a shot in the next week or two with both of us, but I was super happy with the ones my friend did and I am glad I did it. She never lets me pay her, but I do take her out to lunch at least.

We did our shoot at a park on the Ohio River in downtown Cincinnati. Loved having pictures showing where we are from.

Well, I definitely can't recommend anyone since I'm in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

We did our shoot at 33.5 weeks. My brother is a professional photographer so we didn't have to pay for the session. But his packages also start at around $250.

We did a studio shoot as part of a maternity / newborn photography package for $450 total (though I ended up buying a couple of extra shots on top!). We did ours around 37 weeks

Did an impromptu shoot with our own camera Sunday at 38w2d. Here's a couple of my favs (I may have cheated on a few and pushed the bump out a bit more because it looked better lol)
