Infertility

Introduction

Hi folks

I've been an inactive member here for a year, basically popping on to research real life stories as new scenarious came up in my TTC quest. After a bit more than 3 years of trying to have a baby with the various testing, drugs, exams, and surgery, that come with infertility and I am about to start IVF.

I'll adjust my siggy to incorporate a slim run down of my history, like most of you, because it's pretty darn helpful when reading responses to topics that I connect with. It seems like there are a 101 ways to struggle with conception and 101 ways to deal with each of them lol.

Otherwise, I like practicle approaches, hate people trying to tell me to relax and let it happen; funniest moment yet, doc telling me I have "stumpy" fimbria; suckiest moment yet, low ovarian reserve.  So that's me in a nutshell.

  • @cakeforbreakfast I'm sorry it's been a struggle.  We all know hat it's like.  If you are starting ivf soon, please come join us in the October/November thread.  There's also a December thread, I think.

I, too, hate being told to relax and let it happen.  That makes me so mad.  Low ovarian reserve is tough.  It doesn't mean it's the end, though, just that it may take a little longer.  You can do this.  Remember, this is not a sprint; it's a marathon.  Keep that mindset and if it hopefully happens sooner, then that's wonderful.  That's the best advice I can give anyone starting ivf.  Good luck!

  • Being told to relax and let it happen is the worst, this whole process is just one long waiting game after another. Like the gal before me said, definitely a marathon, not a sprint. Welcome and good luck to you!
  • Hello,
I so agree about getting annoyed wen every1 repeatedly says relax.  I have been told all sorts of crap, plus some of them give me examples of people who nvr had kids and are happy, for God sakes who told u I'm nvr gonna b pregnant. And there are some self declared doctors who give advice on all sorts of things. At the moment when I hear these comments I get irritated n enraged, but later I laugh at these people these days.
Lots n lots of babydust to all of us......
