Re: Friday Ticker Change 11/4

  • How far along are you? 16 weeks

How big is baby? The apps agree this week, an avocado

Appointments this week? None until the 17th

Symptoms? Not a whole lot, my sense of smell is still crazy good and random foods taste funny. This week quite a few things tasted salty, pork chops, tacos.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I started wearing maternity pants to work last week! So far I have 4 pairs and 1 pair is an ok length, 2 are too long and the last is too short... shirt girl problems. My MIL said she'd hem them all for me but our schedules just haven't matched up.

GTKY: What do you do for work? Do you enjoy it? What is your dream job? I have had the same job my entire adult life working for a property management company. I don't love it, I was actually trying to find a new job right before I got pregnant, so I suppose it worked out that I didn't end up getting offers. After the baby comes I'll be on the hunt for something new again, hopefully part time if we can afford it. I think I'd really enjoy working in the medical field with a focus on dermatology, but I'd prefer not to go back to school .

    The size of an orange

Had an appt on the 4th and it took the dr a terrifying amount of time to find the heartbeat but when she did all was good and baby looks good!

I still have some mild exhaustion and a couple lingering aversions and have developed rhinitis!

I currently work at Safeway in the meat dept. I started there in February 2005 in the deli and graduated university with a B.Sc. In Human Nutritional Sciences in 2011, but with no work in the field I wound up staying at Safeway and being promoted to deli assistant manager. My dream job is to be a nurse and while I was on mat leave with DD my DH was fully supportive of my going back to school! I've been jerked around by the college I was already accepted into so wound up withdrawing my application and am now finishing up admission requirements to apply for U of M (in Canada) and will hopefully get accepted to start nursing school in Jan 2018 while still on mat leave. If that's the case I will not be returning to work after mat leave is up. When I came back after mat leave I stepped down my my position and moved over into the meat dept where they needed more help. It's not terrible but it's not what I envision myself doing for the rest of my life, even though I actually get paid a rather decent wage for what I do but I guess that comes with nearly 12 years seniority

    How big is baby? artichoke

    Appointments this week? nope

    Symptoms? none

Rant/Rave/Questions? can't sleep on belly anymore really need a maternity pillow

GTKY: What do you do for work? Do you enjoy it? What is your dream job? I am a bank teller. I like the job, the management and coworkers are another story. But I'm part-time so I can handle it for 20 hrs a week. I am trying to figure out a way to breach the subject of me not going back after the baby comes with DH. I basically only make enough for daycare and with the second I won't be able to cover that anymore so really what's the point. DS is on my insurance through so that's a problem. I have always wanted to be Joan Cleaver or Annie Camden.

Baby is the size of an artichoke

    No appointments

On and off headaches and nausea that's creeped back up a few times but a lot better than it was!

I waitress on weekends.. It's not my dream job but it gets me out of the house (I was a stay at home mom until DD went to school) and it gives us extra money while having flexible hours.

    Rant/Rave/Questions?
Lately I've been eating a lot but not gaining a lot of weight, just lost a couple pounds in the past week actually. First pregnancy here so not
too sure what to think. Also, I love sweets but the thrill of sneaking some just for myself and not sharing them is also part of the fun.

I'm currently a stay at home wife but I have a BS in Marriage and Family Therapy. I had been working at a child care center recently but I decided to dedicate all my time to my lilttle peanut and maybe go back to work in a couple of years.

@Virginialeigh I totally agree with how working part time helps with dealing with dislikes at work. I used to work at a bank myself after college and most of my coworkers were petty girls I could barely stand. Don't blame ya for wanting to leave! I'm sure yours might be better than mine were though, hopefully! Got plenty of stories.

@LittleChick2 Maternity pants are one of the best creations ever! I don't think I'll be able to go back to regular pants after pregnancy haha it's unfortunate that you haven't found the perfect fitting pair yet but once you do you won't want to let go!

    How big is baby? Artichoke/Slingshot

Appointments this week? No appointments this week...but we have our anatomy scan the following week and we will be finding out boy/girl and I am so excited :) This is bound to be the longest week ever!

Symptoms? I had some pretty severe groin/inner thigh pain on Saturday after my run...and then on Sunday I struggled with some pubic/pelvis pain. I am going to take it easy on the walking/running/working out until I can talk to my doctor. Other than that I feel great!

Rant/Rave/Questions? I'm frustrated with the hip/groin/pubic pain and I am hoping it's not going to put an end to my running.

GTKY: What do you do for work? Do you enjoy it? What is your dream job? I'm a 4th grade teacher...and I would say 99% of the time yes, I do enjoy it...There are those days when it's physically and emotionally taxing...but it's always balanced out by those amazing moments I get to have with my kiddos :)

My dream job? Hmmm...I can't imagine being anything but a teacher...but if $$ were not an issue I would want to teach part time (mornings) so I could have my afternoons to get things done and have my evenings/weekends free for fun stuff only :)

I am a teacher.  I like it, and it's nice to have the summers off for family time and getting projects done around the house.  I would love to be some sort of a travel agent.  I love planning vacations!

GTKY: What do you do for work? Do you enjoy it? What is your dream job?
I work part-time as a bookkeeper for my church which is great because I get to work from home and earn some spending cash. Before my first born, I was a dental assistant which I loved and would like to get back into someday even if only part- time .
