GTKY: Do you have more friends that are guys, girls, or an even mix of both?
It has changed throughout the years.  When I was young it was more girls.  After HS, I had more guy friends.  I have more girl friends now.

R/R: DH is working early shifts this week so he has to be up an hour before me, which is not typical. The cats get all riled up when he gets up and start chasing each other around so I end up waking up too

GTKY: Do you have more friends that are guys, girls, or an even mix of both? Girls

  • @KhRun17 Would discussing hiring a cleaning service scare him into helping? DH and I have split chores and most of the time we do what the other doesn't like doing. If we both hate it, I am doing it now and he will do it when we have kids. He works 24 hour shifts, so chores are a little tipped towards my side.

I used to have more guy friends now it's even I think because a lot of our friends are couples.

  • @NYTino24 that sounds reasonable to me. FX!

@KhRun17 What others have said about giving DH his own chores that he's responsible for. Also my DH says he's more likely to help if we do th chores together. I like to put on music and have a beer when I clean to make it more fun. LOL Also I've found that getting mad is only going to stress yourself out. My DH hates doing dishes and although I don't love it either, I just do it sometimes because it stresses me out way more to see the sink full of dishes!

R/R: Our first wedding anniversary is in a week! It would be the best gift to get a BFP, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen. Definitely having PMS symptoms.

CS/Q: This may sound crazy, but on 6 DPO, I slipped down the stairs and got a bit bruised up (I'm dumb lol). After that, I was just emotionally spent and kind of had a bit of a crying break down. Could all of that affect implantation? Dr. Google simultaneously made me feel crazy and made me paranoid (reading about women who say things like don't take hot baths or exercise around implantation time lol). I'm fully aware that this probably sounds insane, but I just was kicking myself for doing anything that could jeopardize our chances.

GTKY: Do you have more friends that are guys, girls, or an even mix of both? I'd say a mix of both.

  • @NYTino24 - I KNOW! I feel like, if I can get on at all, it's like...8PM and by then I'm all "what's the point now?". Work has just been batshit nuts and my mornings are now a circus compared to at least having a few minutes to jump in first thing. Oy. Hopefully it'll all start unwinding soon - I'm about to reorg our team and hopefully take some of what I've been juggling OFF of my plate. I'm going to try to be better. ha

I thoroughly second this -- always great to see you! You are on my short list of people whose BFPs would excite me even more than my own!

  • @spiderlover25
Acupuncture is a tricky topic but here's my two cents. I first went about three or four years ago when I developed terrible jaw pain (TMJ) and my doctor basically told me there was nothing to be done about it except avoid chewy foods (wtf) and hope it goes away. "Hope it goes away" is a ludicrous suggestion and I was desperate -- I was in pain and could barely eat. My mom suggested I try acupuncture, but I was super skeptical because I thought it was dumb and could never work, plus at the time I couldn't find any research evidence about it. But like I said, I was desperate and acupuncture was covered by my insurance at the time so eventually I said what the hell and went to a place near my house. I went one time and my jaw felt SO much better. I went a second time and my jaw pain was completely gone. I went literally twice and that was it. I couldn't believe it. I am not a believer in things like that but I couldn't deny that my pain was gone. Maybe it was the placebo effect but it was gone! (fwiw my dentist told me that TMJ that goes away with acupuncture is stress-related so my experience may not be typical. Mine was definitely stress-related)

Since then some medical trials have shown small but statistically significant impacts for acupuncture on things like pain and chronic illness -- typically things that western medicine isn't great at treating. I have horrible pain from endometriosis so I started going again when I went off BCP in order to TTC. I find that it really alleviates my severe menstrual cramps. I've also been going a few days before I ovulate because my acupuncturist suggested it to help fertility -- though it's been six cycles without a positive, so it certainly isn't a smoking gun. That said, I find acupuncture incredibly relaxing. I stay destressed for hours. If it has no "real" effect except that it helps me destress enough to get pregnant, that is worth it to me.

I live in NY, which is an expensive part of the country, and pay $70 per session. It's just $50 per session where my parents live in Arizona. Sometimes it is covered by insurance. If you are interested, I recommend you look for a practitioner with a Masters in Acupuncture/Chinese Medicine specifically. Don't go to a chiropractor or somebody who "also" does acupuncture. You should also check whether your state requires licensure for acupuncture, as this will ensure that the practice is following public health standards.

Happy to chat more about it if you have questions!

Also, hi! I'm not sure we have talked before. Welcome to TTGP.

Argh. Bump ate my post. I totally understand what other posters are talking about now!

    Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD/DPO: 18/4

    Timing: EOD

Testing: Have a bunch of wondfos so will start 8DPO

R/R: Bummed about the Broncos loss. Also I've been feeling very unmotivated at work lately so I'm staying in bed as long as possible.

GYKY: I would say even mix since most of our friends are couples

FX for the pee pact ladies tomorrow! I'm SO excited to login tomorrow morning.

@CallaLily25 I think you should be fine! I understand the crazy though, I wanted to take a hot bath last night but made the mistake of consulting google.

@KhRun17  I second everyone else saying you should make a list. Find out what chores he hates the most and designate those to him.

  • @adirat Thanks for all the info.  I am also in NY but way upstate and the challenge here would be to find someone certified.  I would probably have to travel a bit. Thanks for the welcome too! I've been lurking for a while but decided to jump in this week.   I intro'ed under my other name (purpleroseinNJ) but the bump wouldn't let me sign back into that name so I made a new one.  Since I'm not in NJ anymore, I think I'll stick with this name.

  • @spiderlover25 So if I recall correctly, there are acupuncture schools in both Albany and Seneca Falls, so there may be more options than you'd think. FX!

@laurad75 Oh yeah, if I go to acupuncture in the evening, I basically come home and put on pajamas and that's it for me.

  • Month/Cycle: 6/6

    CD/DPO: 24/10

Timing: excellent, but not good enough

Testing: BFN today, I was weirdly nervous prior to testing this morning, I don't know why since I have no reason to believe a non-medicated cycle would be successful.

R/R: we are 98% done with raking leaves...60, yes 60 yard bags worth!! its monday and I'm just waiting to see how long my LP will be this cycle.  Oh I do have one more rant. I have a fairly specialized job and am on call 24/7/365. so if I want to go more than an hour away from my house I have to find someone to cover for me at this point there is only one other person in town that can cover for me... well that person had some medical stuff come up and has no idea when they might be available to be my back up again.... so that means I can't go anywhere for the foreseeable future.  UGGG it just feels so restrictive.... there are things I want to do and can't.... Ok pitty party over!

CS/Q: nope, temp up, hopes down

GTKY: Do you have more friends that are guys, girls, or an even mix of both? we have made more couples friends especially after the kiddos but my closest friends are girls

@NYTino24 sorry work is invading your dreams and isn't the happiest place.

@khrun17 we actually do have a chore chart.  We have listed all of the chores that need to be done on a weekly basis. I had him help me come up with what chores should be on the weekly list. I still have to ask him to do some of them but I think DH likes to cross things off the list. GL I know its super frustrating... when DH and I were living in 2 separate cities for a while his apartment was a disaster...

@hupp0013 I so feel you on the time change thing.... what a cruel joke

    @starla sorry for the BFN
@ColoradoHiker sorry CD1, be good to yourself

@krys Hooray for a longer LP!!!

@AngelaPlus3 I am so sorry for your loss and hope your stay back here is short.

    Month/Cycle: 1/1

    CD/DPO: 13 or 14DPO

    Timing: -1 or -2

Testing: Tested this morning, BFN. No AF yet, but moving over to the WTO thread because I am pretty certain I am out. Best of luck to all of you and I will return to this thread at the end of this month!

ETA: Experienced some spotting today, so pretty sure it's AF.

R/R: I just want AF to arrive!!! (never thought I would say that)

    CS/Q: nope

GTKY: Do you have more friends that are guys, girls, or an even mix of both?

Honestly, I don't have a ton of friends that are nearby. I had quite a few in college, but then we moved away from each other. Now, I have one really good friend (girl) and then mostly hang out with DH's friends (a mix of both).
  • @KhRun17 I agree with having a conversation and kind of laying out who would be responsible for what chores. There is no reason for you to try to take it all on on your own. @lulu1180 Yes, you did it!!!!! FX it works! @ColoradoHiker Sorry for AF!! @AngelaPlus3 So sorry for your loss. @wabash15 Sorry for the BFN

    Month/Cycle: 6/6

    CD/DPO: 25/11

    Timing: -5,-3,-1

Testing: Still holding out for the Pee Pact tomorrow!! FX everyone!!!

R/R: Eh, nothing really. Pretty tired today, but other than that it has been a pretty typical Monday so far.

    CS/Q: No thanks!

GTKY: Do you have more friends that are guys, girls, or an even mix of both? When I was younger it was definitely more guys than girls, but at this point I feel like it has kind of evened out. However, I think that is likely a result of my guy friends being in long term relationships/getting married.

    Timing:-3, -2, -1, +1

Testing: Not until AF is late if my will power is strong enough. Too many BFN disappointments in the past, that I generally don't get the urge to test unless I  have gone down the rabbit hole with symptoms

R/R:Rave-I had such a great weekend  with my BFF and her family visiting  me. Her 2 year old kept calling my H and I "the kids" which was making us laugh. It was really encouraging to see my H playing so well with the 2 year old. It reassured me that he will be great with our babies once I get KFTU! My BFF also has PCOS and she gave me a bunch of her herbs and oils that she got from her herbologist and she got KU without medical intervention this time. So onto the oils! If anyone is interested in what they are, I can share some of the links she sent.

CS/Q: Nothing really.  5 temps above my cover line, but weird that I have had majorly sore boobs since I O's. Typically I get soreness exactly 6 days before AF. Not sure whats going on in my body.

GTKY: Do you have more friends that are guys, girls, or an even mix of both? I always was friends with more boys. I couldn't  take the girl drama and emotions! As I have gotten older and girls matured, I have a really good close group of girls that I love, but definitely relate to boys when out having fun on the town.  Good thing my H is confident in our relationship and  he has never questioned me or doubted me.

@KhRun17 I can completely relate to the H baby'd by MIL. He has no idea how to do chores and doesn't notice  mess or dirty unless I specifically say...clean your pee off the toilet before guests come. I have also found a system that works. If I write things I need done down on our white board in the kitchen, he will do it, but if I write it down on a piece of paper, it doesn't ever get done.
@ColoradoHiker Sorry for CD 1. Be  nice to yourself today
@AngelaPlus3 So sorry for your struggles.
@lund I switched to natural deodorant a few years ago because to be  honest, I never needed deodorant until I got off BCP!  However, I only use natural, and I have found that I only need to use it during certain parts of my cycle. Definitely during AF...  FU body, as if I am not already broken, you make  me stink too..

CS/Q: let me just leave this here:

GTKY: I have more female friends. We do have some couple friends and male friends from college, but I'm a girl's girl for sure.
