  • Good morning ladies!!

Had a freak out last night.  Went to bed around 9pm, and woke up around midnight with my pajamas bottoms soaked! I immediately got up to make sure it wasnt blood, but even then more liquid gushed out!

My DH is outta town so I called my mother in law whose a nurse and she said to call the Dr....Doc said it could have been the baby kicked my bladder it made me pee myself! But just to be careful and rest so hoping this doesnt happen again or I will probably go to the ER just to make sure especially when I dont have an appointment for 2 weeks

  • @ADRIANAC1982 Wow, that's crazy. I would have definitely been freaked out myself. I'm actually kind of shocked they didn't have you come in to make sure it wasn't amniotic fluid.
  • @ADRIANAC1982 I agree with @BornReady about them not checking for amniotic fluid. My best guess would be that your house is haunted and a ghost did it.

@BornReady and @AandDM2014 I agree! Im still iffy about it today even though it has stopped.

My mother in law is a nurse and she was telling me to go as well, and for her to say it I was shocked.  Im closer to my hospital now that I am at work anyhow so if it happens again ill go.  Or if it happens over the weekend I wont call ill go.

+ im going to rest all weekend just in case to be safe.  I was super bloated yesterday so maybe I had retained a ton of water n the baby was near the bladder, who knows I just hope it doesnt happen again

@dragonfaerie Thank you! It was scary especially because its my first pregnancy so I dont know what to expect. I just kept telling the doctor I was sorry for calling but I was afraid

  • @adrianac1982 that sounds so scary
im sorry. I think I read a post where someone's doctor has strips they could test the fluid to see if it was urine or amniotic fluid. I really hope it doesn't happen again!
  • @ADRIANAC1982 Seriously, I would probably have demanded that they bring me in. If it was a membrane rupture it won't likely happen again and I imagine there won't be much they can do about it, but I feel like it's something they should have taken more seriously. @ale9687 is correct that it is a pretty simple process to see if it is urine vs. amniotic fluid. When my water broke prematurely with my son I went to the ER and they weren't sure it was urine, despite that I was soaked and felt the pop of the sac. All they needed to do was a quick swab and the results came back within minutes. Sorry you're dealing with this and I hope I'm not sounding like too much of an alarmist! I just feel like our concerns should be taken seriously, especially something that dramatic sounding involving waking soaking wet with unknown fluid.
  • @BornReady NO THANK YOU! I agree I feel kind of dumb for not just going in because now Ill be on pins and needles.  Im just trying to rehydrate and take it easy.

I have heard of the strips I was googling (not the best idea) while I waited for the on-call doctor.

@frustrated and ttc Im not sure how far along you are but I didn't really feel kicks until 20 weeks, my best friend didn't until about 24 and there's someone on the boards who I believe is in her last trimester and was never able to feel much. • @ADRIANAC1982 I'm glad you are feeling well, that sounds scary, keep us posted!

Afm, Doing well, except lower back/sciatica pain is no joke right now! I'm having a hard time sleeping because of it. I did buy a body pillow and I love it but the pain is still bad.
Also on Wednesday my linea nigra made it's appearance, I was using the restroom at work and saw it and It was hilarious, for some reason I had not thought about it. Apparently the old wives tales say that if you are having a girl it runs only up to your belly button and if it's a boy it goes all the way to your ribs. So far it's true for me!

QOTW: I registered at Buybuybaby because I felt like it had more variety, their return policy is supposed to be better that BabiesRus and I like the fact that you can use the 20% coupons from bed bath and beyond, but I'm sure there's pro's and cons to all of them. I've spent countless hours researching products and I think I have almost everything figured out but haven't decided on a baby monitor, for some reason I get overwhelmed when I look up all the options available
