I am going to try to make a long story short but here goes... I went in for my regular OB appt Monday the 17th at 32w6d and my BP was 180/100. Within 15 minutes I was taken to L&D, assessed and given a steroid shot for baby. I had 3 transfer options for NICU and we chose the hospital 3 hours away due to it also has maternal specialists not available at the other 2. I was med flighted Monday night, spent the night in L&D at transfer hospital.
On Tuesday morning I was told I would remain inpatient until the baby was born sometime between 34-37 weeks. The thoughts of a potential 4 week hospital stay scared me to death. Because it was now a waiting game I was moved to the high risk OB floor.
On Wednesday morning the doctors made rounds and said my kidney function was worsening it wasn't safe to wait any longer. I was moved back to L&D and induction was started. So much of that day is a blur that all I remember is the epidural, the contractions and begging for a csection. I slowly progressed and they let me rest some overnight.
Our son was born on Thursday morning, 3lbs 7oz and breathing on his own. He stayed in NICU until Tuesday night. He has been promoted to step down unit and now all he needs to do is gain weight and we can go home. I was discharged on Monday and will stay with the baby until he is discharged.
Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry you went through all that, but I'm so happy for your sweet ending! Congratulations to your beautiful family! I hope you're all released home soon.
Congratulations! I hope you are doing okay and that your enzymes, proteins and BP have stabilized. I hope Jeb has a short, uneventful stay as a feeder and grower. Welcome to the crazy world, little man!
Holy goodness! I'm so glad you are both ok! What a crazy whirlwind to go through. This whole baby-having business can be unpredictable. I'm really happy for you and your new family, congratulations.
Well @zubenescamali I am actually doing really well. I was discharged on 2 BP meds and will go to an outpatient clinic next Monday for a recheck. I got a referral for lodging due to Jeb being in NICU so I have a place to live for as long as he's here. I am stocked up on groceries and have redeemed my Amazon completion discount a little earlier than planned but my life could only be better by being at home. But it's coming so I can wait.
@MBS2016, I don't think that would be an issue at all. I say whatever you need for support, find a way to make it happen. Then again, I'm just 1 person on this big board.
Jeb! What a beautiful baby! Congratulations on his arrival- so glad to hear you both are doing well. Best wishes for a smooth recovery and trip home soon!
