How many months am I?

I'm 23 weeks as of today and just recently found out the sex of my child. I go by the weeks but usually when someone ask Mr how many months I just say the week instead. Can someone help me out please.

Google is your friend. There are due date calculators that can help you.

Aww, I was so excited because I hoped this was a legit post! I get so confused because there is conflicting data on Google about months to weeks. FTM flag showing! I was hoping for a general consensus whether it was 4 weeks = 1 month (leading to 10 months of pregnancy) or if on the same date each month you change months (leading to 9 months and a couple days pregnant). I'be spent too much time searching Google and never found a consensus. I just picked changing months on the same date each month. Is that what y'all do?

While this is is definitely something that could be googled or dropped in the randoms thread, I actually think it's a valid question.
Many people find confusion in figuring out the "months" since pregnancy is measured in weeks and not our typical calendar month that we are used to.

I agree that it's not necessarily a stupid question @Spicyweiner although personally I don't care at all. It's just not something I think about, I know lots of people want to know that. But seriously- Google. Or randoms or something. Just made me roll my eyes this morning.

4 weeks in a month. Take your number in weeks and ÷ 4.
I mean, math was always my toughest subject so I don't know, I may be wrong.

ETA: This is one of those questions where being the child of Indian parents gets you slapped in the face.

There isn't 4 weeks in a calendar month. It's 4 and a half.

I found this thread quite entertaining... last week a lady in the grocery store asked how far I was so I just took my 24 weeks and divided by 4 weeks for the month. I know that's not really accurate but it was the easiest fastest way without saying 24 weeks, I told her about 6 months. Technically I'm not, but according to that chart from @WinchesterGirl I could go with 6 months. Either way I think as long as I am close enough, who cares what I tell strangers. It's not like they really need to know anyway.

I hadn't realized the poster was a newbie but this is a question that my mom is always asking me and I don't know what to say. I tell her weeks, but she always tries to translate it to months!

Well ya, there's never exactly 4 weeks in a month.....obviously. We all know that at this age. ..but OP could get an easy estimate that way.

It's 4.3 weeks per month so divide your weeks by 4.3 to get your months. OP, you're a little over 5 months at 23 weeks. You'll be 6 months at 26 weeks.

ETA: @AfKash that kind of estimating (4w/mo) is exactly what messes people up! Because then you end up with 10 months and everyone is confused.

It's confusing too because there's quite a spread between, for instance, starting the 6th month of pregnancy and having completed 6 full months of pregnancy. I feel like there's wiggle room in the semantics and calculations depending on how someone is counting, which is why doctors et al use weeks instead of months

OR you could say my lmp is x date (mine was the 11th) and I change how many months I am on that x date. I'll be 6 months on the 11th of November.

I can't do this is in my head lol... I'm super good at math, but only if I have all the tools, calculators, fingers, toes haha
