IF Check-in Week of 10/24

edited October 2016 in June 2017 Moms
How is everyone feeling this week now that we're getting deeper into first tri? Personally, I've been feeling pretty awful. I'm always nauseous even when I'm hungry. Finding something I can actually eat is a constant battle now. Also, naps have become my best friend!

@Cythe We are thinking of you this week and praying for better news for you on Wednesday... sending you as much internet love as possible!

To be added to the check-in, here are a few questions for you to answer:

1. What is your EDD?
2. How long did it take you to get your BFP?
3. What is your diagnosis?
4. What is your treatment/history?

Re: IF Check-in Week of 10/24

  • QOTW:  Oh yes give me all the stretchy pants!  I can't even fit in some of my jeans anymore - apparently my butt expanded or something.  I'm waiting until my u/s before I dig out the maternity clothes, but right now I am mostly wearing leggings.

@kdanjou I prefer leggings even when I'm not pregnant, haha. But yes... now I don't ever want to take them off! When is your ultrasound?

  • QOTW: I'm still fitting in my normal clothes! I felt a little bloated this weekend but nothing too bad, and I don't have much today.

  • QOTW:  OK so I'm kind of fitting into my regular clothing, but damn my PJs feel so damn good at the end of the day.  I've been bloated forever now thanks to my FET cycle meds so I guess I'm just used to the muffin top me at this point.  Blah.  Just feel so gross.
  • QOTW: What are you ladies wearing these days? Are you still able to wear your regular clothes or are you like me and only wearing extra big/stretchy things now?

I'm surprisingly still in my regular clothes at 8 weeks.  With DD by 8 weeks I was in at least a bellyband because of all the bloat.

  • I am so bloated. I am only 8 weeks and this pregnancy is kicking my butt. I can't complain though, my last pregnancy ended in a partial molar miscarriage. So this one I am enjoying every bit of it even the morning sickness. I am still nervous for every appointment I go to. I wish I could walk around with a monitor all day long :)

I look like I am at least 4 months pregnant and vegtables make me sick lol.

  • I'm still in my regular clothes but I'm plus size so I assume it might be a while before I have to buy maternity clothes. I'm hoping I can wear my regular work pants all winter then switch to skirts/dresses in the spring.

@wifeinraleigh28 My first u/s is on nov 2.  If that goes well I'll let myself believe it's real.  However, I did bust out the bellyband the other day so I could wear some jeans.

  • I'm still wearing my regular work clothes with no problem.  My jeans aren't really fitting that well, right now, though.  But, if we're being honest, they were a little snug before I got KU!  I am excited that I will be biggest in the warmer months because I can get dresses to wear (which I will hopefully be able to wear post-baby also) instead of pants.

  • Well, I had a scan yesterday with my doc, she said she'd do it today for us on her crappy equipment if we wanted to. H and I agreed that if it was bad news wed want it to come from her and not a stranger.

So, we went and after a stupidly long wait we saw that the sac remained pretty much unchanged, however there was a small section (probably 1/4 the size of the overall sac) that wasn't there last week and she said she MIGHT have seen a fetal pole, but she couldn't be sure.

I pressured her a little more on what is causing the striations in the sac and she said "debris" which pretty much means they don't know.

We all agreed that we are not doing anything until we are sure, we've gone through too much and spent too much money to not be 100% sure and right now no one knows what is going on. Dr. P finally said "I'm beginning to learn with you that nothing is normal or easy"... yeah, you're telling me.

So I go back on Wednesday to the MFM to see what the fancy equipment says. Either way, as of today Dr. P said she wouldn't schedule me for any kind of interventions until I've had "a few more ultrasounds".

So, Tl;Dr is that I have no answers and probably won't for a few weeks.

  • I'm sorry to see this update @Cythe.  How frustrating and stressful to be in the wait and see camp.
  • I'm feeling pretty good.  Not a lot of symptoms, which worries me at the same time.
Definitely wearing stretchy pants and dresses.  Wearing scrubs at work have never felt so good!  I think I've just gained weight from over eating and have a little bit of bloat.  I'm ready to "show" so I don't have to suck in my belly for a few months.

  • @Cythe I'm so sorry you're in this limbo. I would do exactly what you're doing. We want to be absolutely sure before doing anything and it sounds like they just don't know right now. I hope that means we might see good news from you in another ultrasound or 2! Do you have frozen embryos for future children/cycles?

We have 2 more frozen embryos out of 2 total IVF cycles. If I had a few more banked I could accept a loss easier but right now all that's running through my head is what if all of my embryos are abnormal? $30,000 for nothing but heartbreak would break me.

Thank you all for the love and support and sorry for AWing all over this thread :)

  • @Cythe The odds are in your favor that at least 1 of your embryos is normal. I don't know how old you are but that is true even if you are over 35. I'll be praying that you have success, either with this current pregnancy or the next one. And no need to apologize for your posts one bit. We are here for you!

  • I am exhausted! I look forward to my LO's nap each day so I can just crash. Normally I'd workout and get stuff done around the house but I'm just so tired. It takes all of my energy to do simple things like put away laundry. Also my LO is crawling everywhere so it's tiring just keeping up with her! Nausea has gotten a little better but it's still there. I am hoping it doesn't linger as long as my last pregnancy (17 weeks).
  • I am so sick this time, too. It's crazy. I'm pretty much only wearing leggings and dresses now. I'm so bloated it's insane. Baby #3 doesn't mess around!

  • Hi....new here!!!  EDD 6/18/17.  After 2 recurrent miscarriages last year, we had 5 "unsuccessful" rounds of clomid (I ovulated a ton of follies but no BFPs) we did a "throw away" month of letrazole awaiting my pre-auth for injectables. Well...BAM!  BFP!!!  All of my tests from the RE yeilded no results. There is no reason for my losses and am otherwise healthy. I'm also taking crinone suppositories now which I think are helping. Had a streak of blood on the applicator this morning. It trying my hardest not to freak. Tomorrow we will go to see the heartbeat (fingers crossed!!!)

As for what I'm wearing these days, I just told DH my scrub pants are getting a little snug
  • Welcome @kmd0501! Those suppositories can definitely cause irritation so I wouldn't worry about a little blood. FX for your ultrasound tomorrow!!

  • I can still wear my regular clothes but they are not that comfortable.  I can't bend over very much and have to do a gangster pregnancy lean when sitting.  I am definitely stretching out faster than I did with my first.  The maternity pants are supposed to be delivered tomorrow and I am ready for them.

  • Is anyone else thinking they may need to go ahead and get bigger bras?  I'm only in my 6th week, but my boobs have gotten massive!  DH keeps saying it looks like I got a boob job.  Does anyone have any suggestions on bras during pregnancy?  I typically shop at Victoria Secret, but I don't want to spend $50+ on a bra I may only wear a month or two.

  • @mrlight I bought a couple new bras last week because my boobs have gotten bigger. Definitely don't go to Victoria's Secret, as they don't really have good bras for maternity, at least not for bigger sizes. I'm a 34DD normally and now I'm measuring 34DDD/36DD. I'm sure I'll continue to grow too lol. I bought a couple maternity/nursing bras from Target and they were only $23 a piece, and so comfortable! No wire either, which is more comfortable when you're pregnant.
