Wondering if there is anyone else there who has been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum. I am having problems keeping any foods or drinks down. My nuasua gets so bad that it will wake me up at night. I continue to get dehydrated to needing IVs. This is my first baby.

Hang in there! It sounds like you're moving in the right direction, with getting the ER doc to address your concerns and getting in to see your OB soon. I don't have any advice other than to def see your OB ASAP and follow her advice. (She'll prob give you these anyway but:) Ask her for specific recommendations about water amounts, foods to attempt, and techniques to try. Write down everything she says so you can refer to it later and not rely on your brain (which is super preoccupied with your stomach at the moment). Hang in there and do your best! Keep us posted on your progress and we hope you feel better quick!
" I have a couple of questions. How far along is she? How severe is her HG? I would tell her being proactive about getting treatment is the most important thing. Such as going in for IV fluids and asking for lactated ringer bags with vitamins put into them. They're referred to as "banana bags" sometimes. Since she's probably not getting much nutrition those bags will help her and the baby. Also suggest using anti-nausea meds. Because at this point, a drug free pregnancy isn't realistic, the number one priority is to help mama keep nutrients down for the baby so neither mama or baby becomes malnourished. If she finds a safe food that she can keep down, eat it. Even if it's fast food. Any food is better than nothing. There's so much more I can address but I think that's a good starting point. I'm part of a great HG support group so whenever she's ready to join. I'll be more than happy to add her. Tell her she's not alone and I'm more than happy."
I hope that is helpful at the least!
Good luck- I'm so sorry you're suffering and I hope you get some relief soon.
