Re: Randoms - Week of October 24th

  • @AandDM2014 I also have GI problems and every once in a while I get those painful lowdown cramps that lead to diarrhea. As PPs said, doesn't seem to be much to worry about (unless you get them all the time.) I will take a stool softener for a few days if I'm having problems so that I don't strain, but I usually am somewhat thankful for the cramps, because I am so prone to constipation that if I can actually go to the bathroom it's kind of a relief. Lol.
@vssbrm I haven't had anything that I could specifically say "Oh, that was BH" but I have been feeling random pains every once in a while for a few weeks now. They don't last long and have varying degrees of pain associated with them, so I just drink water and kind of ignore.

  • @ultratomato Yes, I basically only wear my ballet flats now. Some days, Wee Boy is sitting really low and I can't bend over, so DH gets to help with any socks. I'm not looking forward to the snow. I have to buy new snow boots because mine have a heel on them and that's just not going to happen this year. I'll probably end up with Uggs or something similar.

  • @Tulips29 Have you ever thought of using leggings?? I know here at work when it gets super cold during these crazy Chicago winters most of us wear leggings under our dresses to keep warm ;) may not be what your looking for, but just an idea.  Never tried it with a skirt, but getting me into a dress is a project in and of itself.

I did also but some tights this weekend at target, I think they were sweater tights, and they went over and above my tummy (might be because im short though) so those may be worth a shot.

  • @ADRIANAC1982 Yea, I do wear leggings when it gets really cold here in NY as well, but I figured for now I'd like to wear dresses with tights. I usually wear HUE opaque ones but the ones I have at home just don't fit me anymore. I just love maternity stuff that goes over the belly and doesn't cut into it.

@Griffin5413 those might be the ones I saw online, just have to see if my motherhood store has them so I don't have to order online. I am very picky with my hose, so want to make sure they are comfy and fit the belly well.

@ADRIANAC1982 Lucie's List (lucieslist.com) was a huge help to me when I was starting to research baby products. I highly recommend starting there! I was also gifted the book "Baby Bargains" which was a life saver. It sorts out which products are worth spending more on (i.e., for safety and other important features) and which ones are a waste of cash. The authors are big on safety, so you can be sure they are not recommending junk that is going to break or put your baby at risk. Other than that, I relied on reviews posted on amazon and babiesrus.com.

  • @ADRIANAC1982 Good point about the Black Friday deals! I hadn't even thought of that yet. I'm hoping we can re-use most of DS's gear for my new little guy, but it might be a good time to check everything out in case we need to buy any new big-ticket items. Honestly, I had so much fun researching baby gear. I'm a researcher, not an impulse-buyer, so I really got into it!

Also, Babies R Us does a price match guarantee, even with their own website and Amazon, so if that is your go-to store that can help save money. This way you get the perks of items bought off the registry. Babies r us you get 10% cash back so even if you're buying it yourself still have it on a registry first.

  • The wedding I was buying a dress for a few weeks ago was this weekend, I was SO glad I ordered a size up in the bridesmaid dress. When I tried it on a month ago, there was space in the tummy. When I put it on yesterday, it fit perfectly. In fact, by the time I ate dinner, it was a little too tight (I feel like my tummy is two sizes bigger in the evening. Don't know if anybody else experiences that or just me!) Luckily, I don't ever have to wear it again, so if I am never able to fit in the dress after today, it won't matter.

@BWhitta I also had those sharp pains once in a while, most likely just growth/RLP stuff going on. My doc recommended drinking a TON of water and laying down for a few minutes, that will usually ease the pain as sometimes it's caused by dehydration.
@capps42613 Oof, that's a lot! Well done though! I need to get some cards and keep up on gifts I receive so it's not a mess all at once...
