I wanted to post for everyone that this movie, while very good, has some serious triggers in it. Just be aware of that because it hit me like a ton of bricks. It has tones of infant loss, failed IVF, pregnancy, and childbirth.

Good movie but I probably would have waited until I'm through with this phase of my life if I had known.

Really? I bought the book yesterday to help with my "benched" two week wait. Maybe I put it on the shelf this month - I was in the mall today and I swear 80% were pushing a stroller and it had to get out of there!

I probably would have been ok if I had gone in knowing about it. There were a few parts that made me cringe and one very sad part about loss. It's good though, and very engrossing. It would be great for the TWW if you can handle that stuff!

They are both TW for sure (book and movie), but I found the movie to be much worse. They directly refer to IVF in it. My sister went with me and said even she felt uncomfortable for me, and wondered how it made me feel!

Good to know... My friend wanted to go see this the other week and I turned her down (we were busy, it wasn't like I just didn't want to go), but she's a pretty new friend and doesn't know what we're going through, and I've been on a bit of a hair trigger lately. Probably best I couldn't make it that night...

This was a good idea to post. I saw it without having read the book and without having any idea that it dealt with failed IVF, I started crying in the theater. It hit me really hard too.

I'm just seeing this now and I wish I'd seen it sooner.

We went to see the movie on Tuesday and it really affected my husband and I. I definitely cried in the theater and when we got home we were both in a weird mood and my husband just went straight to bed.

I texted my husband something along the lines of "oh great. This movie is about a woman who spirals into a depression and addiction following her failed IVF. She may or may not be killing people." His response was: "Leave. Get up and walk out. Do it now. Now. Nowwwwwww" I responded with "it's ok, I'm not falling apart. Plus I need to know if she did kill people. You know, for my future".

So yeah, it's a little tough to take. I didn't even tell him about the loss in the movie. He would have completely expected me to come unglued about that. But I didn't. I guess we are stronger than we think!
