MTHFR gene mutation and pregnant

Hi all! Recently, I found out that I am positive for the MTHFR gene mutation. I know that it means I will struggle with infertility (no shock here lol), and that I have a higher risk of miscarriage (both early and late). I was wondering if there are any ladies who are currently pregnant or have been pregnant that also has the MTHFR gene mutation? I am trying to learn a little bit more about it. I want to know my chances of being pregnant with a healthy and safe pregnancy.

Hi! I am homozygous for the MTHFR c677t mutation. First off and most importantly, you need to know if you are heterozygous (1 copy), homozygous (2 copies), or 1 of each (I think it's called compound). If you are heterozygous, My RE (and I believe this is pretty standard), they will recommend methyl folate instead of folic acid and that's about it (maybe also baby aspirin) Research speculates that at least 50% of the population is heterozygous and there's really no need to worry/have much medical intervention.

Homozygous is different, the standard is usually at minimum methyl folate in conjunction with blood thinner injections. I have to take blood thinner injections the whole pregnancy and 6 weeks after I deliver.

Compound (1 copy of each) I don't know much about.

Also, it's my understanding that being homozygous doesn't cause too many issues in regards to getting pregnant-it's staying pregnant (so often this is looked at when women have reoccurrent loss) and preventing a baby with neural tubal defects etc...Also, to prevent mommy from clotting and/or having a worn placenta. My RE didn't even start me on blood thinners until after I was clinically confirmed as pregnant.

Lastly, what copy do you have? I have c677t .

Thank for answering! At the current moment, I only know I'm postive- I'm not exactly sure if I'm Heterogeneous, homogeneous or compound. I also don't know the specific type. Just was told I'm positive and to start baby asprin. She said if I get a postive beta result I will need lovanex.
Im going to find out more on friday when I go to the doctor, I only spoke to the PA on the phone for a few minutes. My head was spinning from hearing the results so I didn't think to ask too many questions.

I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it. I have have 3 miscarriages, we have been assuming they were bad embryos but now learning this, I'm wondering if it wasn't bad embryos at all.

Were you considered to be a high high risk pregnancy due to potential to clot and miscarry? Or were they not too concerned since you were n the lovanex?

I'm so sorry you have had 3 miscarriages. I think regardless of heterozygous vs. homozygous it would make sense to have you on lovenux. I didn't know you already had miscarriages before diagnosis so that's definitely a game changer. I had never been pregnant and I assumed you were in the same boat.

I am not considered high risk as far as I'm aware, but I had never been pregnant. I do get scans monthly though and after 32 weeks I'm getting seen every 2 weeks for some testing.
