So, I run fairly hot, and this pregnancy has only made that worse. We keep our house pretty chilly - around 65-68F. Now that it's cooling down outside, we wake up and it's around 61-63 inside. We also sleep with a ceiling fan and two oscillating tower fans on in our bedroom. It occurred to me the other day that...this will probably be a problem when the baby makes her appearance. Does anyone know what temperature the room should be (ish) that your baby is sleeping in? I know every baby is different, so this is probably a tricky question to answer, but it's probably the one thing I'm most worried about right now. Whenever we stay at my BIL's house I wake up covered in sweat, because they keep it so effing warm for their toddler. I know that being extra sweaty after delivery is already a thing, so not looking forward to potentially amplifying that.
Also, semi-related, I've read that having a fan on in the baby's room can help reduce the risk of SIDS? Has anyone had a fan in their baby's room? Ceiling or tower or what?
Thanks ladies!!!!

We actually had a long chat about this last week in the ask a STM mom 10/17 thread - it's still in the first page so it should be easy to find - I would link it here but I'm on mobile and can't.
When we had our first girl we slept in the basement and kept it fairly cool, also slept with a fan on, I just made sure to keep her bundled pretty good in sleep sacks and warm Jammie's, plus I put two receiving blankets over the top of the bassinet to block the wind, it worked fairly well I think. But once she was in her own room we made sure the temperature never fell below 20 celsius(no idea what that is in Fahrenheit sorry)
@mudderbear Looks like 20 C is 68 F, so that's perfect! Thanks for the feedback! I think I got a little too worried about the temperature, because my BIL's house is like 80 F (27 C) degrees. I started to panic that that was what was necessary, haha.

Ya I am definitely too cheap for that shit haha...I'm also way too hot of a person for that. When I was pregnant with my first I kept our house at like 17, my sister visited and had to wear like 9 layers haha
68 degrees sound perfect Yes, a fan is a great idea. Keeps air circulating. I've always put my babies in zip pajamas for bed and then swaddled them. They've always stayed warm, without getting overheated or cold.
Ive always had a fan as well but I did notice when my DS started to get a cough at night the fan irritated it even more so it had to be shut off until he was better.
I was looking this up too the other day. I live in a very very cold climate...I'm talking winters getting colder than freezer and car doors freezing shut. So i was worried about warmth. I found this online and showed it to my sister (she has 3 kids) and she said it's pretty accurate.
