Were any of you prescribed baby aspirin as part of your transfer protocol? I had my last appointment at my RE yesterday and the doctor who did my ultrasound (who wasn't my main doctor since he was out of town) told me I can stop taking baby aspirin now that I'm 8 weeks. It just makes me nervous. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but just knowing that it is a miscarriage prevention medication I'm afraid to stop taking it! I thought I would wait until I see the OB on Friday just to get a second opinion, but maybe I'm being crazy!
Just wondering if any of you also had baby aspirin as part of your protocol and if so, when did you stop taking it?

Hey there @wifeinraleigh28! I was prescribed baby aspirin for all of my transfers. I'm trying to remember when exactly I stopped taking it... It was definitely 8 weeks or before. I know I was super scared to stop all of my meds, but if you've been having your blood drawn, your doc knows what's up and that your body is doing the right thing.

@AandDM2014 I haven't had any blood work since my 2nd beta on 9/28! Is that weird? They never did any at my ultrasounds. Now I'm definitely thinking I want to wait until I see the OB to be sure my blood work all looks good! But it is comforting to know that you stopped taking it at either 8 weeks or before...

Hmm. How curious. I guess every RE is different, but mine drew blood every week to adjust my estrace and PIO. Maybe it's different because I have a hormone disorder that made it challenging to get pregnant. But yes, I definitely was no longer taking it at 8 weeks.

Wow, my OB told me to keep taking it because it helps prevent the mini blood clots. Basically she's of the mindset that it can't hurt and could help, so just keep going. Maybe my next appointment I'll bring it up and see if they still think I should continue.

I was taken off baby aspirin right around 8 weeks. Like @AandDM2014 I was getting weekly blood work to adjust my meds until my RE released me at 10 weeks.

I never took baby aspirin @wifeinraleigh28. No one does in Scandinavia. Neither did I get any bloodwork done. A positive test is a positive (Although I took two bloodwork as I wanted to know my numbers after I had a bleeding scare) I was just on progesterone and estrogen until week 10. Got an email to stop at exactly week 10 with again no bloodwork. We get mostly considered a 'normal' pregnancy ones we get a positive test here in Scandinavia.
I would say, if you worry, wait on what your main doctor says, as I feel like you trust him/her more. And (s)he has followed you from the start.
@wifeinraleigh28 - I was on baby asprin until around 8 weeks but then my perenatal dr put me back on it around week 14. She said it couldn't hurt and it helps if they are worried about blood pressure issues.

I am on baby aspirin and prenatals for the remainder of my pregnancy. My RE had me stop all hormones at 11 weeks and my OB had me stop all other supplements at 15 weeks. I'm healthy, but I suppose staying on baby aspirin is a precaution because of my age. Maybe for your age and health they don't think it's necessary at all. Let us know what your OB says.
I was on baby aspirin b/c of celiacs disease, just as a precaution to help prevent miscarriage it is my RE's standard protocol (along with lovenox) for us IVF celiacs ladies. He had me stop taking it at around 10-12 weeks. I had a bleeding issue around 19 weeks and my OB kind of wished I had still been on it. Based on my experience, next pregnancy I will coordinate with my OB and RE to see when I should stop taking it.

3/22/16 - Sono Saline ultrasound cyst to be aspirated on 4/1/16 if not cleared up by 3/29 US - It cleared on its own Retrieval 3/4/16 - 26 eggs retrieved, 23 mature, 20 fertilized, 14 embryos currently frozen Starting IVF Stims on +/- Feb 22, 2016 HSG scheduled for 1-26-16 - All clear "beautiful uterus" (though inverted)
Switched clinics and now prepping for IVF in February / March
Thank you for all your input ladies! I'm going to continue taking it at least through the remainder of the week, and I will ask at my OB appointment on Friday if she believes I should still be on it or not. I have a feeling she's going to say to follow my RE's recommendation, but I guess it can't hurt to ask. Maybe I'll feel better once I'm confirmed with blood work that everything is okay!

Just wanted to update that I met with a midwife at my OB last week and she said I should definitely stay on the baby aspirin, at least until I meet with the MFM doctor. I had a hunch that I should stay on it and I'm glad I did. I have an autoimmune disorder, and while I've never had any clotting risks or anything, I've been told that baby aspirin will likely be used as a precaution when I get pregnant. Sometimes you need to follow your instincts!
