Oh yay! that's me! Sorry I'm so late to this game this week!
What is your first name? Carrie

When is your due date? December 16th but the OB is inducing me on 12/2 due to pre-e and hypertension in my last 2 pregnancies.
What part of the world are you from (be as vague/specific as you want)? I live in Alabama.
What number baby/pregnancy is this for you? pregnancy #5, but baby #3. I had one loss before I had my first child and then one loss last summer. Both were emotionally brutal.
What is your occupation or dream occupation? I would love to be a full time party planner! I love to do stuff like that for my kids birthday parties and really theme it out. I love to theme out any party really. But since I just discovered my love for it a few years ago I didn't pursue it instead I work in politics which is also uhhmmmm fun.... yeah at this time of year fun is what I'd call it.
Does your/will your nursery have a theme or color combination? Since we are Team Green we don't have a theme or color combination. I absoutley love my DD's and DS's bedding so we'll reuse that once we figure out what this LO is. My DH is taking the entire month of December off (lots of unused vacation time over the years) and will be home to paint the baby's room whatever color we need. LO will be sleeping in our room for the first few months anyway!
Have you bought anything for baby yet? We just bought a mattress for our crib, car seat, baby bath-tub, bottles, and new video monitor for this baby. Luckily we kept most of everything from my DD and DS so we have tons of clothes and essentials but needed some new stuff since the car seat had expired and our crib mattresses have been in the attic and I was unsure about reusing them.
If you have bought things, what is your favorite thing that you have gotten so far? My MIL bought me a new diaper bag which I love, I know it doesn't technically fall into the category of things I've purchased, but I LOVE this diaper bag. It looks like something I would carry after the baby doesn't need it anymore!
What is your favorite part of pregnancy so far? Since this my last baby, I find that I really love feeling him/her move and I love just being pregnant in general. This one has been harder than the others due to my GD diagnosis and some things have been a bit more challenging to work around but I'm really trying to enjoy it as much as I can.
Do you have a favorite maternity/baby brand? I don't really have a favorite- but I tend to wear a bunch of Old Navy and Gap maternity clothes. I also have some Motherhood Maternity but I find that they can be more expensive than the other 2 if you don't get the clothes on sale. I love Pea in the Pod but don't wear much of their clothing.
One thing you will splurge on this pregnancy? A video monitor. We didn't have it with my DD and DS but I was adamant about having one this time around. the baby's room is upstairs and I think for my own peace of mind a video monitor is a must. I'm also toying around with getting an Owlet monitor (also for peace of mind). Has anyone used one? Thoughts?
What are your top pregnancy related priorities? A successful delivery and healthy child (no matter how the delivery method). I'd also really like to get rid of the diabetes part of the GD. I miss all things sweet, donughts are in the forefront!
What is your favorite book? Picking one is so hard! I love all of the Harry Potter series, I'm on a big YA kick lately too so I've read most of the major trilogies and even some that are more low key. I also tend to read a bunch of books by the late Vince Flynn who writes DC, political, CIA types of books.
What is your favorite tv show? My favorite TV show is Outlander. It's the one show my DH and I watch consistently together and I'm not going to lie, Sam Heughan is not an unattractive man. I also watch Bones, Designated Survivor and Ancient Aliens for funsies.
What is your favorite movie? I'm not a huge movie watcher but I love Top Gun (an oldie but a goodie), Harry Potter movies (except for the last one- I was completely annoyed by the ending), The Holiday and The Goonies.
What is your favorite band/singer? I'm so boring, y'all I listen to a lot of talk radio, news and college sports in the car on the way to work. Otherwise, I'm listening to what my kids want to listen to which is not anything popular. But when I do get to listen to the radio and it's not the news or college football talk, I really like to listen to Sirius XM's 80's and 90's channels. It's throwback and I love it!
Anything else you would like us to know? I'm so glad to have found this group, even though I joined so late due to the fact that I was irrationally scared that joining and confirming pregnancy would end up like my last one but I'm glad I made the decision to join. I've learned so much from everyone, even though this is my 3rd baby. I love all of the different topics that members cover and I love that people are pretty nice about things and put up with my stupid questions!
I feel the same as you with the pregnancy, it's our last and 3rd baby. While this pregnancy is much harder than the other 2, I'm trying to enjoy it because the chances of it happening again are less than 1%.
I've never used an Owlet, but my paranoia is creeping up and I feel like I need one to have a little peace of mind.
We watch ancient aliens once in a while, and the guys hair always gets me. He is talking and I'm just staring at his hair!
@yellingbanana- I swear that's the only reason I watch it- that guy's hair is large enough to intercept any "alien communication!" haha.
I just find the whole process of the show interesting to see why other people believe that ancient aliens have come to Earth.
I know it so deviates from my real life and I think that's why I watch it in part because I don't have to think or really concentrate to watch the show. It's absolutely my guilty pleasure show. Should I have even admitted that?!?!
