I'm not sure there's interest, or enough regulars that are affected, but would anyone like to be part of a High Risk check in? We could discuss Dr's appointments, how we're feeling, stress, how we're staying sane, gtky. Any suggestions would be great too.
So if you want to participate and are interested please respond, and let me know if weekly or every other week is better in your opinion.
Re: High Risk Pregnancy Check In?
Second I probably was exposed to zika before getting pregnant, and we waited the advised 8 weeks, but it seems the new recommendation is 6 months. I am at higher risk for late term fetal death as a combination of both. It's weighing incredibly heavy on me. I'm also not feeling movement yet like I did with my other kids, and it's just increasing my anxiety.
Like @amandadhyg I'm trying to stay positive. I tell myself that right now, there's no reason to think this isn't a healthy happy pregnancy.
@amandadhyg and @Taylor72 welcome and I'm glad we can all be here for each other!
Former uterine rupture and placental abruption during pre-term labor Mama here.
Ultra high risk so they will be delivery the baby in early March if they can get me that far, all will depend on the lining of my uterus (ultrasound every monday starting at 32 weeks to check on baby and the thickness of the lining of the uterus and manual checking - ugh, not excited about that...) ... Hoping to get me to March 14th!
Throw in stupid thyroid disease... and I am just a ball of pregnancy fun!

@LyssaChap and @dam0ne4 welcome!
It's a VERY small chance but they take no chances. BUT now my SSA antibody is negative so maternal fetal dr says no need for fetal echo monitoring. My rheumatologist said that bc I had this antibody last year (along with positive ANA....FYI this is auto immune stuff) that they do need to do fetal monitoring....so...I feel stuck at this moment. The hospital I got he SSA antibody test at has a new test they use this year so rheum says they should test again and keep eye on baby.
I actually know a couple people with same antibody and each has 2 kids that are fine (though one did get neonatal lupus for a few months which is 20% chance, they checked heart and it was fine & the neonatal up us went away ).
I asked my Dr why all the monitorong for 2% & reasoning is "you either have it or you don't"
I'm in a group where several have had baby with heartblock and pacemaker. some didn't even know they had antibody so they weren'the monitored.
So I'm not too worried, dr said I'll just get a bunch of sonos
Hx of pre-eclampsia
Hx of emergency early c-section for borderline hellp
Anterior placenta, fingers crossed it moves
Anemia (Hx and current)
Some background....At my first OB appointment, my blood pressure was 130/99. They immediately had me lay on my side and ran for the Dr. He came in so calm, told me to sit up, introduced himself, we talked a good 5 minutes and he took it again. It went way down. Once I explained my anxiety background he wasn't too concerned with my high reading because it went back down and I just get "excited" easily. However, he asked that I buy a wrist cuff and keep track twice a day. I have been doing that for the last 10 weeks. Prior to the last 3 weeks, my blood pressure has been super good. 110/55 117/60 etc. I know that bottom number seems low, but in pregnancy what is considered "normal" changes. My first trimester readings were lower than average but non-concerning. In the middle of pregnancy, your numbers are supposed to go even lower (like the last 7 weeks have been). Well for the last 3 weeks, my blood pressure has gone up to numbers like 128/75, 132/ 88, even 136/99. At my last appointment my reading was 140/100!! Again, he wasn't too terribly concerned because it never stays high like that. BUT since my daily resting readings have consistently been higher, I have to go back in one week. If they stay elevated or get worse I have to go on blood pressure medication. My readings aren't too terrible, but he said since I do not have a history of high blood pressure that it is pregnancy induced. If it isn't taken care of now, then in the third trimester, I will hit critical levels and potentially harm myself and baby. I'm a horrible at googling and freak myself out so I'm trying NOT to do that this time. Does anyone have any information on pros and cons (obviously I will go on it, I'd rather the risk factor than the for sure factor of not being on it)?
