Halloween!

Doing anything? (I plan on passing out candy while watching football.)  What are you dressing up as?

Re: Halloween!

  • I'm not a fan of Halloween so I'll probably be watching football and doing candy while my kids (12 and 9) go trick or treating down the street.
  • Loading the player...
  • Baby H is making his appearance on the 26th! So my plan is to put him in a cute Halloween outfit, we may have a couple visits (like my parents etc) and DH will give out candy!
  • @kristah2 So close!!!! :D Can't wait for pictures!
  • DD will trick or treat with her day care class then I will take her to her Dads office for trick or treating there. In the evening we will hand out candy. DD will be dressed as Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony. I have a black tshirt with a pumpkin on the tummy.
  • The hubs and I will take turns going out with the kids and handing out candy. We just moved into a neighborhood so we actually have to be home to pass candy out. When we lived on a main street we had ZERO kids. Time to stock up on the candy. Too bad I can't eat any of it! (Thanks gestational diabetes).
  • Trick-or-treating with my toddler, then switching with my husband and handing out candy.
I have a Halloween T-shirt I hope still fits by then.
  • If I'm still pregnant (I'd love to be!) we'll meet up with some friends and take our kids trick or treating. I am toying with the idea of attaching baby arms to my belly, but it'll be cold and I'll probably need to wear a jacket, so I may just settle for a butterfly mask.
DD is going to be Rainbow Dash (my little pony) and I was planning to make us matching unicorn crowns, but my creative fire burned out and now I'm just gonna be happy to take her tot'ing!

  • Taking DS to some toddler-friendly trick-or-treating events around town Saturday-Monday, then coming home to probably pass out candy at our house for a bit ... probably not sleeping since my c-sec is scheduled for the next day and I'll be too wound up and anxious! DS is going to be a puppy, but neither DH nor I are dressing up.
  • Will dress up for work and then maybe wear my costume at night passing out candy, but if not then at least the dog will be dressed up. Also doing a fun run this Thursday with a Halloween theme, I think I will wear my skeleton baby tshirt for that since I need to find a time to wear it
  • @kvruns are you actually running?! More power to you Mama! I'm a slow walker at best at this point in my pregnancy. You go! :)
  • @rspalding001 yep I'm still running, just a 5K at a time and like 2x a week (because it has just been too hot after work to run outside so I only run on weekends, I do elliptical or walk the other days). Usually have to take 1-2 walk breaks, depending on if I start feeling some discomfort. I actually feel better running now than I did during the 2nd tri, it is kind of weird.

There was a Halloween race I really wanted to sign up for a month or two ago but I figured I wouldn't want to run it, let alone maybe even walk, that close to my due date. Of course now it is this coming Saturday and I would have been fine to do it. Oh well.
  • @kvruns Ugh I was just thinking I was going to tell my trainer I'm done until after baby comes but now I feel like I should just keep doing it. If you can run a 5k I feel like I can weight train three times a week. I can't believe you're still running, weights and lunges are hard as hell at this point! I'm definitely impressed.

@MrsMaryK2016  well I'm doing no weights stuff, squats and lunges sound super hard to me, I can't breathe when I bend down to tie my shoes haha so that sounds like torture.  I have a friend who ran way more than I am, so I feel like a slacker, but then I had a stress fracture in my foot at the same time I got pregnant so I had taken off almost 5 months from any running or impact exercise and didn't start back up until about 12 weeks in so I am just happy with what I am able to do.

we all do the best we can with the cards we are dealt. I say if you are ready for a break from weight training then take it, no shame at all!

It's like we are wearing permanent weight vests! I'm still in the gym doing modified crossfit twice a week, but had to give up most cardio and my beloved rower a week ago -- my hips and psoas were way too tight and I was starting to worry it would affect birth. Getting out of bed to go to the gym is a struggle (like, actually getting out of the bed), but I figure I've made it this far, might as well go til the end. Counting the days til I'm running again though! I had to stop in the second tri, it didn't feel great and I slowed to the point it was jmentally frustrating. You can do it!
  • We do family costumes.  This year we are doing Alice in Wonderland.  My 4 year old will be Alice.  My 2 year old will be the White Rabbit.  My H will be the Mad Hatter.  And I will be the Queen of Hearts.

It's funny you say that since I just texted my trainer telling her I'm done lol

    Rest up lady!
  • I refuse to believe I will still be pregnant on Halloween........

  • Having friends over for movies and pizza--I just want to be able to wear my costume (Rosemary, from Rosemary's Baby. My partner is going as the devil)
  • We are staying in and giving out candy. I will most likely just wear my Ladybug onesie and call it. For our dear friends baby shower we did the Bob Ross and Happy Tree thing, it was such a fun shower with everyone dressed up. This is what I posted on IG... yes there is a happy squirrel.

  • 37 weeks! My 3 year old is so far refusing to dress up ha ha ha Aghhhhh! Toddler mom problems. Hopefully I can convince her before the trick or treating begins.

Same here! She picked out a costume, was super amped and then rejected it on Friday for her school's trunk or treat and opted for a cousin hand me down instead. Now we get to play negotiations again this afternoon!

    Good luck!

I won't be dressing up, but will be mastering my sciatica inspired zombie walk/crawl through the neighborhood. Perhaps I will get pity chocolate?
