Three things you're looking forward to!

Challenge - so that it's not all the same, get super specific. Like, instead of "halloween candy", perhaps, Reese's pumpkins. Or rather than "Thanksgiving Feasting!" maybe it's "the way the soft flakes of freshly grated nutmeg float down over my mashed yams." Sure you're happy to meet your baby, but how awesome will it be that first time you hear the comically loud ketchup-bottle squirt sound effect of a giant newborn poop?

Re: Three Things Thursday 10/20
1. I can't wait for Thanksgiving. I think we're going to try to do it just between the two of us and maybe buy a cooked turkey and I'll make dressing. I really want at some of that dressing, asap.
2. I saw a sign for "Tom's hot fries" today that said "BURSTING WITH FLAVOR!" That's what I expect my first trip to Jimmy John's is going to be like. I know some of y'all roll your eyes at avoiding the lunch meat, but I've been holding out, and I can't wait to get at an Italian Night Club.
3. You said be specific so this is specific: I love baby feet. I can't wait to get ahold of this one's pink little newborn piggies. I'm gonna kiss them silly. I think about this often.
I'm still thinking of my three.
2. I'm so excited to be able to run again within the next few months. It's my stress relief and I have missed it so bad. I just added to my rundisney sneaker collection Monday and now I am ready to start my training back up!
3. I can't wait to see what color hair DD has. I have medium brown hair and DH has almost black, with a red beard (strange I know). Yet DS was born with bright red hair that has turned into a super light blonde. I LOVE it! So we have no idea what DD's will be and we're super excited to find out.
2. The election. I'm a political junkie, so this whole election shit-show has been endlessly fascinating to me. Every election year I run home after work and watch the news incessantly to see them proclaim the winner for each state as the polls close. I know... I'm a nerd.
1. Chiropracter appointment on Tuesday. I've never been before so it's all new. This woman has been praised by my birth class instructor, our doula, and other students in our birth class so I'm hoping she lives up to the hype.
2. The chocolate covered banana slices in my freezer. Trying to hold out until after dinner dessert, but they'll probably end up as lunch dessert.
3. Since I should probably throw in something baby related...Our first family hike with bubba. May take a while for the weather to warm up and me to feel up to it, but I get teary when I picture little bubba snuggled up in his carrier on my chest walking through somewhere pretty with FI and our first baby (the dog).
2. I'm excited for Thanksgiving. My BF and I are hosting about 14 people to avoid having to travel to multiple locations. It's a potluck so I won't be responsible for too much that late into the pregnancy. I absolutely love the warmth of a house on Thanksgiving day, after cooking all morning/afternoon. All of the smells are amazing, the meal is my favorite and then just relaxing and spending time with my family is the best. I can't wait!
3. I can't wait to see my BF with the baby, I think about it constantly. I'm so excited to see him become a father and think he will be amazing in his new role. I know he will be so supportive during the birth, and then seeing him meet our baby for the first time will be something I'll never forget (on top of me meeting this LO as well, obviously). I'm so looking forward to this experience of becoming a family.

2. Until this election is over, I'm sick of seeing both Hillary's and Trump's faces all over the tv and my Facebook feed.
3. Until baby girl is past that "fragile" stage where I always feel like I'm going to break them (aka when she's able to hold her head up by herself).
2. Spending the day visiting my poppy tomorrow.
3. Being ablee to enjoy the apples my mom picked from the apple orchards today. I love golden delicious and pink lady.
1. DH and I have planned two big date nights next month (football game and concert). Sort of a last hurrah as a twosome. I can't wait for that together time and the awesome memories we are sure to make.
2.To see my brother as an uncle finally and all the things he will teach her. He loves kids and has an amazing sense of humor. Plus he's been wanting to officially be an uncle forever.
3. To feel like my body is my own again. I feel like I've been taken over by an alien or something and I can't wait to sit/stand without assistance, be able to breathe again, and have a semi-normal digestive system.
2. My dad's stuffing at Thanksgiving. It is amazing and I can't get enough of it.
3. Finding out what Squish's personality will be. I think that's what I'm looking forward to the most. DH and I are both smart a$$es so should be interesting if our child is one, too.

2. To get a lot accomplished this weekend! Finally have a whole weekend that we can just start knocking things off our list! Going to DEEP clean the to-be nursery so that my mom can come and paint it in the next week or two, then we can get it all set up!!
3. See what creature will look like!! I wish my tummy was see-through so I could just watch it!
2. I'm looking forward to the pot roast I'm going to make for dinner tomorrow night. I love how it makes the house smell so good while it cooks all afternoon. It just reminds me of lazy, fall afternoons
3. I'm excited to figure out new routines that will work for our new little family. I'm looking forward to seeing how our life will be different in the best way possible!
DD- 11/2016
1. Baby shower number two this weekend! I was lucky enough for a few local friends to want to throw one.
2. DH has promised to cook all of Thanksgiving dinner and it includes a smoked turkey - yummmmm.
3. This may seem weird but I'm really looking forward to my mom coming after the baby is born. DH's parents are coming as soon as he's born. I'm not thrilled about it BUT they'll be gone by the time he goes back to work so I'm thankful for that. My mom is coming when DH goes back to work for a week and I'm really looking forward to it. Other than DH I feel like she is the person I most want to share the experience of a new baby with.
2. A plate of food covered in gravy. I'm not a gravy person - don't even usually have it on anything. But right now, I want a plate of thanksgiving just smothered in salty savory gravy.
3. Fitting into my normal clothes again. I'm just sick of maternity pants. I'm sick of elastic. I'm sick of bumbling around like a drunken egg. I want jeans and corduroys that button and zip! While I'm at it, I want to bend over without my food falling out and I want to lay on my back and I want to hold more than a thimble's worth of pee at one time and I want to hula hooooooooooop
2. Sleeping on my back. With the ability to just, like, roll over and get out of bed.
3. Since it'll probably just be me and DH doing thanksgiving by ourselves, we can make our favorite parts of the meal and skip the rest. Knowing us that will be stuffing and pie and it will be awesome.
1. I am looking forward to only having to work 18 more days for the year. I had to use the rest of my vacation before I started leave, so I have worked 4-day weeks since the second to last week of September until 11/17, which is my last physical day at work (took 11/18 off, as well as the week of Thanksgiving... my leave actually begins 11/28). However, I do work all of next week due to stuff that needs to be completed by end of October for work.
2. With the dresser put together, the crib arriving tomorrow, the mattress that arrived today, our glider ordered... I feel like we have actually done something with the babies room, and look forward to spend November decorating!
3. Along with what some others have said... getting back into really working out. At the moment, I can only do home video workouts barefoot since my feet are too swollen to wear any sort of athletic shoe I own (running, ones I wear for classes, etc). It's such a bummber. I can't go to the gym and I can't even get on our treadmill unless I really want to walk in something like flip flops. My home workouts are great, and will work for now, but I miss the gym and classes the most.
I could go on about some more baby related things, but can leave them for another post!
TTC Since: November 2015

These are my favorite! I'm looking forward to
1) Drinking a few crisp, flavorful, cold, full-bodied beers after LO is here and we've settled into a routine. Especially on one of those unexpectedly pleasant winter days that I can sit on the deck (with the baby monitor now) and close my eyes and feel the sun soak in my skin and have the content feeling of surviving the first few weeks.
2) Taking a drive this weekend to attempt to capture the breathtaking beauty that is happening all around me. I wish I could freeze this time of year - it slips by so quickly!
3) DH meeting LO. He's the emotional one of us and those tears of excitement are going to be so sweet and worth it. I also day dream about what LO's voice will be like someday.
DS: 12/20/16
EDD: 11/29/18
2) to see SO with our baby girl. He's a great dad to my DSD but I love watching him with our nephews and it will be so special seeing him with our babe.
3) using stairs and not loosing my breath or getting light headed.
Bonus- yesterday was the first time that I truly craved an alcoholic beverage. Not to shabby for 208 days into pregnancy. I'm definitely looking forward to a beer!
1. Baby shower this weekend! It's Halloween themed and everyone has been telling me how excited they are to dress up and celebrate Ashton. Also looking forward to the loot, ain't gonna lie.
2. Maternity photos next week! It will be in a botanical garden when all the leaves are changing, and I can't wait. Getting my hair styled and makeup done!
3. Ashton's baby grunts and sighs. When I was waiting at my OB today, there was a brand new baby boy in the waiting room...he sounded like a little piglet! It melted my heart.
4. I'm looking forward to exercising again. It's been hard with the BP stuff and I really miss it. Good thing our new place has a gym and pool!
5. Christmas. I love Christmas and I can't wait to snuggle with DH, my son, and furson in the Christmas tree glow.
6. I'm not sure if I will make it this far before Ashton is born, but for now I'm looking forward to our baby moon in Asheville at Thanksgiving. We booked Thanksgiving dinner at the Biltmore, a room at a downtown B&B, and a couple's massage! Really hoping we can go.
2. Seeing Dh hold L the first time. I cannot wait. Anytime we are around Littles lately his face lights up. I can't wait to see his face light up with L.
3. My mom died hen I was 23. My Dad has been waiting forever to be a grandpa. I cannot wait to see him with L. He's great with step mom's grandkids but he's just so excited to have his own. That makes my heart happy!
4. Baby hands and baby feet. I can't wait!
2. My kids are SO excited about Parker. Like, every day they talk about him and to him. They tell him how much they love him constantly and can't wait for him to be born. I know I'm gonna sob hysterically when they come in to the hospital room and meet him but I just can't wait for that moment!! I still remember when DD met DS at the hospital- it was one of the most precious things I have ever witnessed.
3. To have my body back. Being taken over by a baby for nine months is something I really really don't enjoy. I am looking forward to trading in the pregnancy for a outside baby. I want to breathe, sleep in whatever position I want to, eat without heartburn, and get arm cramps from holding a newborn for hours instead of back and hip pain from being pregnant.
1. I'm looking forward to when breast feeding gets easy, after those first few weeks/months of struggle the reward of just being able to nourish my LO without it being so darn hard is such a great feeling. I miss it a little bit since my DS was done at 15 months and he's just 2 weeks shy of 2 years old.
2. As others have said, seeing my DS meet his little sister for the first time. His two friends at childcare became big brothers within the last few months and he's always talking about their little siblings. I can't wait to see his face when he meets "his baby".
3. @temmetime my DH is also the emotional one and when he saw our son for the first time his face was priceless- something I will never forget. I can't wait to see that face again when he meets our DD.
4. Those first few hours after the rush of birth is over (my labor was 31+ hours) when all is calm and DH and I just get to hold our newest little one and relish in being new parents all over again.
5. The flour-less chocolate torte with peanut butter sauce I make for Thanksgiving.
2. To the end of this back pain, which I am really hoping goes away when LO arrives. And also, sleeping on my back again.
3. The holidays! I love Thanksgiving and Christmas and seeing my goofy nieces.
1. Cold, dark evenings in front of the woodstove with DH, DD, and Sir Grubs (my dog). We usually hook our mp3 player up to the speakers and listen to music while we watch the fire. And this year we'll have a baby to snuggle! So pumped!
2. Looking forward to hiking again once DD is born. I have been off track in the 3rd trimester because I get out of breath easily, and these steep hills require a lot of careful balancing, which I have none of right now. Thankfully, I do most of my hiking in the winter so hopefully I'll be recovered enough by January to hit some of the trails again. There is nothing more fun than a cold morning hike and then coming back home to a hot cup of tea, a grilled cheese sandwich, and a warm bowl of soup. And on that note . . .
3. Soup season! I love making soup in winter, especially for lunch.
2. Checking stuff off my to-do list this weekend, like getting a bag, nursing bra, packing said bag for hospital. Feeling like I'm ready.
3. Getting a Christmas tree. We always get a tree around December 1st, and I was all sad/worried about how we were going to get a tree, considering babies will be born 2 days before. DH said he'll go get one, and then we'll decorate. I'm sad that for the first time in 10 years we won't be going together to get our tree, but happy that it'll still happen.
2. No longer being diabetic. Gestational diabetes SUCKS, but there is most likely an end in sight. Grateful that I don't have type 1 or 2.
3. Our first fur-baby feeling better. Before I got the call about the attempted break-in I got a call from the vet that our pup has Cushings disease from long term steroid use (to stop her allergies). The positive spin to it is she most likely will be fine once we stop the steroids. And if we can get the eff out of the south before spring, we may not have to treat her with meds for allergies.
1. I'm excited to take our first family photo with all 7(!!!) of my children... the number of completion (not why we had 7, but totally complete all the same). It's going to be sweet, and I want our photographer friend to come take it!!! I might go nuts pinning ideas for posing us. I think it would be cool to have a post birth home birth session!
2. New born baby noises... they don't last long and I delight in them greatly for the time that they last and then are replaced by heart warming coos... both are about the most beautiful sound on earth. And fade away one day to never be heard again... while I am thankful and even joyful that this season is nearly over for me I also know that I will grieve it.
3. Taking a bath with my new baby. I don't bother buying baby tubs any more and regularly indulge in a mama/baby bath up until they can sit up for themselves in a tub or sink... it pretty much rocks for us both and is an excuse to tell the rest of our busy house that they need to stay out and give me peace. The same goes for breastfeeding... I use it as an excuse to find solice when i need/want it even though I could care less whose around when I nurse. "Um, I need to go feed the baby (on the bed, in the dark... while I nap)!" Best ever!
Due December 27th with baby #7
ETA: my three things, which the bump are.
1. The renovation to our sunroom is almost complete. It will be great to get it completely sorted furniture wise, etc. before DS3's arrival.
2. My parents are keeping DS1 and DS2 next weekend, and it'll be great to get some alone time with DH as well as check off a few boxes on our to do list.
3. Settling down to our new normal as a family of 5, with 3 boys 4 and under. Let the wild rumpus start. I'm equal parts excited and terrified at this point.
