Sober Date Night Ideas

So hubby and I love going out to eat, and our date nights usually consist of dinner and then grabbing a drink at a lounge or catching some live music. Dinner sounds great to my preggo self, but I'm trying to think of what else we can do. Going to a bar or lounge sober just doesn't appeal to me. We rarely get time away, so going to a movie also doesn't sound great since we would just sit there and not talk.

What has everyone else been doing for date nights while drinking is off the table?

  • We love walks and scenic drives. DH communicates best on those long drives where we are sitting side by side. We did a few community service things together, and that was a lot more fun than it sounds. For an evening date, dinners, concerts, movie night at home. Good luck!

  • I still do happy hour with hubby I just don't drink lol but we actually do a lot of different things. We go to plays, movies, museums, music lounges, concerts, sports games, etc. I'm usually the one who does all the planning. He's pretty horrible at setting up date nights.

We don't drink at our house either, pregnant or not. We aren't good at date nights..and love going to movies so I'm probably not much help. But it's fun for us to go grocery shopping together, shopping together, walk around the fun outdoor retail centers and go out for ice cream or just for dessert. None of things happen unless we do a date because DH works crazy hours and we've got two young boys!
  • I have never been a "cocktail" type of person- before pregnancy I would usually have a glass of wine out at dinner. But since we still manage to go out to eat pretty frequently now, I have been ordering some "mocktails" every so often and have been enjoying them! At least then if DH is having something to drink I still get something in a fancy glass to sip on.
  • Thanks for the good ideas everyone. Seems like shifting to day dates instead of night aometimes would be a good idea too. We did a haunted house, so that was a cool festive thing to do and was somethig different. We will probably drive around to see Christmas lights at night when it's time too, and I've been looking into those paint date night things.
  • Bowling, theater and concerts, TBH we're walking around baby stores on Saturday afternoons alot recently LOL.
I definitely get mocktails, either from places like PF Chang's that has a menu of them or I get club soda with na bitters and lime. Also when it was warmer virgin mojitos were my jam.

  • We like to pack up a picnic and up and go walk around outside somewhere pretty, usually to the mountains somewhere.

  • During my last pregnancy, my husband and I played board games quite a bit. Not like Monopoly and Clue, but some interesting, more obscure ones. Target actually has a good selection. It was really fun.

  • We plan to go to Fright Night here in Fl
We have a 1yo together and 4yo from a previous marriage
    Tough to get a sitter
So if we get out once every 8-10 weeks that's amazing
  • DH and I did a zombie bar crawl on Saturday night. We dressed up and did crazy zombie makeup. It was a ton of fun even though I couldn't drink. It was fun seeing everyone's costumes! I even danced lol
