Gliders?

Our nursery is almost done - all except for the glider. I wish I could go somewhere to check out options in person, but other than 2 display chairs at our nearest babies r us there's not been many options! So, I'm looking online and wondered if anyone had any suggestions?

Btw - I'm 5ft8 and my boyfriend is 6ft4 so anything with a low back probably won't cut it!

Re: Gliders?

  • I spent a lot on my glider... like I'm embarrassed at how much, but it was the best baby purchase I made.
I bought a Monte Luca glider and ottoman and it's amazing. I still use it every night with my 3 year old.

  • I think we got the Stork Craft Hoop Glider (the picture looks the same, at least). I'm only 5'6" though (DH 6'1"), so I can't speak as well for your height question. I'm short in my family, so I do understand your concern. The glider works well for us, and wasn't super expensive.
  • Weve only had our glider for a month but we both love it. He's 6' and sits comfortably.

  • I have the same one ^ but it was a light green color and didn't go with babygirls room theme so we re-did it! And i'm in love  <3
  • I ordered one recommended on Lucie's List from a furniture store.  It was way more than I wanted to spend, but I'm hopeful it will last many years and be super comfortable and therefore worth it.

  • Thanks guys!! I'm still narrowing down, but this is so helpful. There's just so many choices out there!
  • I love ours. I'm 5'4 and hubby is 6'3 and we both think it's really comfy. https://www.hayneedle.com/product/baby-relax-colby-swivel-glider-dark-taupe.cfm

We went to babies r us and they had about 8 gliders you can sit in and try out. That stinks you only had 2 at your location. :( but you can also special order them in different fabrics. We ordered the "best chairs geneva espresso wood glider" and it is so comfy!

  • We bought a recliner/rocker/swivel chair and I can't say how much I LOVE IT. We bought it from Ashley Furniture, and got a deal because they were partnered with our library for 30% off.... But it's amazing. If you have an Ashley nearby, it's worth checking, but they are usually way expensive-so hope for a deal!
  • I shopped for gliders but ended up buying a lazyboy recliner that also rocks. It's good long term, it's in the family room now for TV watching purposes, I was going to put it in the nursery but now I'm thinking I'll just leave it in the family room and do late night feedings in there instead of nursery...

  • @lesperla looks super comfy! I was looking at the Aden + Anais Serenity Star... have you tested or used it yet? Curious to hear what you think of it.  :)

  • We got the "best chairs Sutton" from babies r us and I couldn't be happier!! I'm 5'10 and my husband is 6'4 and while I'm the one who using it a majority of the time he likes it too. So comfy and I like how it comes up higher
