How far along are you: 20 weeks! Can't believe I am half way there!
How big is baby: The size of a paper airplane, a banana
Upcoming appointments this week: I have one next Tuesday for my anatomy scan. Really looking forward to checking up on my SCH to see if it has resolved and seeing how the little gal is doing in there!!
Any new symptoms or changes: I have been feeling her move all this week, while sitting at my desk or laying down for the evening! Last night was so much that I couldn't fall asleep.
Rants/Raves: I have noticed I have been kinda moody lately, and I try to recognize it before I take it out on anyone...I just seem annoyed with DH and feel kinda bad about it. On a happy note - we bought the crib, rug, and curtains for the nursery this past weekend. We have a junk day in our neighborhood twice a year and it is this Saturday - and I am prepared to clear out everything that needs to go! Can't wait for it to get outta my house and make room for things for the babe.
GTKY: most embarrassing moment? There are so many it is hard to think of one. I had a little too much wine at my work christmas party several years ago - DH and my boss probably thought I was crazy!
How big is baby: mango, gameboy, hedgehog, tomato, hot dog, pair of sunglasses (6 inches and 8.5 oz)
Upcoming appointments this week: tomorrow regular appt with OB
Any new symptoms or changes: Started getting RLP, hunger
Rants/Raves: Rant: DH & I were asked to be god parents to our nephew (his sister's boy). Well he is getting baptized under the Catholic faith. I am not Catholic...so therfore, I'd be Christian witness...that's not the issue. Because DH & I aren't recognized as married by the Catholic faith (we were married in a casino....by a DJ who is legally able to marry), we're running into roadblocks with all the paperwork we need to fill out. So, long story short....I think we're going to have to be married by the Catholic priests....as long as I don't have to convert. Why does this have to be so difficult? I tried to talk to DH about our baby's baptism and he's ADAMANT upon doing it Catholic....even though he doesn't agree with the faith. The issue is we're very limited with who we can choose as god parents, and that is what makes me mad....because I want to pick who I want whether they are Catholic or not. NO judgement on the Catholic faith, I just think it's full of WAY too many rules that haven't been changed since inception. Sigh.....We will figure it out.
GTKY: most embarrassing moment? I have many because I'm that clumsy and that ditsy sometimes....but I guess one of the ones that always comes back to me is when I was watching a Minnesota Vikings game, and blurted out "Is Minnesota a State?" In all fairness, most teams are in cities, so I was confused at that moment. My dad still brings this up.
How big is baby: A banana, endive, or paper airplane.
Upcoming appointments this week: Anatomy scan is tomorrow! While I am thrilled to see our baby girl again, I am SO nervous and am kind of kicking myself in the butt for opting out of the genetic testing in the first tri. I'm hoping and praying things will go well tomorrow.
Any new symptoms or changes: The hunger is crazy. I feel like I should enter into a competitive eating contest or something. I had no idea it's physically possible to be this hungry all the time! Also I've felt her moving consistently the past 4 nights when I'm laying down in bed which is probably the best thing ever.
Rants/Raves: My mom and MIL told me the date they picked for my shower! We're looking at January 7th. I feel like it's wayyyy to early to be talking about this lol
GTKY: most embarrassing moment? How do I even pick one? I think I embarrass myself on the reg
How big is baby: an endive ( not sure what that is)
Upcoming appointments: Tomorrow is the anatomy scan!
Any new symptoms or changes: heartburn is very regular, my bump is noticeable and baby has been kicking regularly, I've started to chart it
Rants/Raves: This is kind of both, because of my growing body, I've had to buy clothing the next size up even underwear, spending that kind of money is not the greatest, but I do love shopping and I like the things I bought myself.
GTKY: most embarrassing moment: I don't know if this is most embarrassing, but I certainly think it's funny. Back when I was in college, down the hall from where my friend lived, there was a dorm with some cute guys. One day when I was leaving after visiting my friend, I was walking down the hall towards the elevator and I heard it beeping as it was going up each floor. So, I started making the beeping noise along with the elevator. Of course when it opened, one of those cute guys was on it and gave me this funny look as I was caught beeping.
Any new symptoms or changes: Crazy hunger has set in, I pretty much eat 2 dinners every night now haha
Rants/Raves: I moved a certain way yesterday and mid-sentence my boss stopped and said "holy cow you are totally showing now" haha I normally wear pretty loose fitting clothing so the bump has been pretty well hidden so far but I guess it is really becoming noticeable now!
GTKY: most embarrassing moment? Oh boy it would be very difficult to nail down the moment that was the MOST embarrassing but the ones that come to mind recently involve my inability to remember how you pronounce "pasty" (a folded pastry case with a savoury filling, typically of seasoned meat and vegetables) versus "pastie" (a decorative covering for the nipple worn by a stripper). This has made for some very very embarrassing conversations at tailgate and office lunches!
Upcoming appointments this week: had one today...will post in the appointment thread
Any new symptoms or changes: belly is growing
Rants/Raves: we can DTD again!!
GTKY: most embarrassing moment? So this is pretty embarrassing and hopefully I won't be judged...but WAY back when I went to visit my boyfriend at the time (now ex, obviously) and I brought along an, um, adult toy...I carried my luggage on so when it went through the x-ray machine they asked whose it was...they then began to go through it and pulled out the toy that had somehow managed to come on. The guy quickly put it back, gave me my bag, and sent me along my way.

I am SO SICK of people always feeding me their negative crap about having a baby/children. You see I am excited, yet all you want to say is how expensive they are, how much they cry, that I'll never get any more sleep... Do you think I didn't know any of this before I got pregnant? I'm not an idiot. I CHOSE to get pregnant, I chose to become a parent, I knew all of this going in... why are you trying to kill my excitement. How about you tell me for one second how great your child is, how its worth is no matter what, how you love your child more than anything. UGH so fed up with negative nancys and downer Dougs. Let me be happy!
@lindsey2017 Congrats on halfway and getting the nursery started! @mecoats I hear you on the Catholic thing, I grew up Catholic, but don't practice and was married at the courthouse, really not sure what we want to do regarding religion and our babies! @jadkins17 Lightning crotch suckssssss @EALasagna45 Good luck tomorrow at your anatomy scan! I opted out of genetic tests, too so I feel your pain about the uncertainty. @disneybaby84 Were you able to find any cute Disney maternity stuff? @SienaC pasty is such a weird word. No judgement for pronouncing it wrong. Its my understanding that the term is actuall regional? @ngcsugirl1112 You poor thing, I would have DIED if that happened to me at the airport! @MoreLove4 Why do people need to comment about HOW HUGE we are... especially at or before the halfway point! How far along are you: 18 weeks
How big is baby: Artichokes or sweet potatoes
Upcoming appointments this week: Nope, on an every 4 week schedule. Next appointment 11/7 (anatomy scan).
Any new symptoms or changes: Back pain, not sleeping very well, constipation... but I feel them moving more, which is pretty awesome. Both babies are still on my right side, so it can be hard to tell which baby is kicking/moving.
Rants/Raves: I'm having a lot of drama at work. All of my managers are men and I feel like they keep oscillating between treating me like I'm made of glass because of the pregnancy and treating me like crap. They keep teasing me and I'm in no mood right now (I don't want boys commenting on my belly size, or the amount of food I'm eating, or how I have a slight waddle going on).
GTKY: most embarrassing moment? Oh man, there are so many.. Hmm... I'm going to have to pick my best friend's wedding. I was so busy planning everything with her that I TOTALLY FORGOT TO WRITE A SPEECH! I drank too much and didn't eat enough and ended up incoherently babbling about how she is the sister I never have and I love her... I still occasionally wake up in a cold sweat thinking about that.
@direwolfmini found lots of cute disney maternity on Etsy! Will be sporting it on bump day soon enough! thanks for asking! Sorry about the men at work, that sounds rough!
rants: there's this girl on my night class that brings the professor a coffee each night... Then it's basically a lecture with just her talking and no one else gets a chance...
rave: my boys got dolls this week and it's so cute seeing them play with babies nicely
no new symptoms
most embarrassing moment:
i was camping and we had a make shift toilet where we swung our legs over a log and go. It wasn't far from the road but we put a box in the road to imply to our fellow campers that the toilet was occupied. Well strangers did not know about the box... So a handsome man came up to our camp site searching for directions while I was dropping a #2 and HE SAW IT FALL I was 13. Traumatizing
@ihateusernames* Oh. My. God! Hopefully you have had time to recover. That is a really good story to tell and yes, truly embarrassing! Lucky for you, this is a safe space where this can be shared!
I just thought of a good embarrassing moment, actually two of them. In HS, my BF at the time and I were watching tv in my basement (right below my parent's bedroom). I kept hearing weird noises, so I ran upstairs to make sure everything was ok, my parents were getting busy. I walked in on them.
Fast forward a few years, I'm dating DH, we're at his mom and stepdad's house. I run downstairs (loud as a herd of elephants I imagine), stepdad was on the computer rubbing one out. I walked in on him getting cozy with "Jill". To this day I don't know if he saw me, I like to pretend he didn't, but I turned around and flew upstairs like a bat out of hell. There is no way he didn't hear me.
Saw my doctor today, he told me the ultrasound was putting me at 22 weeks with a due date of 2/21/17. I'm still a March mom though. Who knows maybe I'll still have baby March 1.

I am 19 weeks today!
Baby is the size of a zucchini
No appointments this week, had our gender scan last week. Baby boy was 9 ounces!
No new symptoms really - more frequent lightening crotch... that is the weirdest name ever!
Rave: almost half way through this pregnancy, I can't believe its going so quickly and the holidays coming up will make it go by even faster!
No embarrassing moments that I can think of right now, although I'm sure that has been some.
