Fluconazole!!?

Has anyone taken fluconazole while pregnant? I didnt know i was pregnant when i was seeing for this vaginal infection. I have called the doctor and they dont answer. We just had a hurricane pass through us and they may not be open for that reason

    @wearetheramos Call a pharmacist. They should know just as well as a doctor and could let you know. Pharmacists often know better about this kind of stuff anyway.

    As early as it was I doubt it did anything to baby. Fluconazole isn't exactly pregnancy safe but really early on most meds have an "all or nothing" effect from what I've read. So baby is probably just fine. Try not to worry about it since what is done is done. You hear all kinds of crazy stories about people going out and partying, doing drugs, taking drugs from their doctor that aren't pregnancy safe and whatever else before finding out their pregnant and baby is born healthy. So while I'd never suggest a pregnant woman knowingly engage in activities known to be dangerous for baby plenty of women have done it and had it all work out OK. So try to take some comfort in that.

    Odds are everything is fine.  You won't actually share what you are eating/drinking/taking with the baby until the placenta implants, which I believe is somewhere in the 7-8 week range.  Until that point, unless you are SO drunk or high that your body is shutting down and killing off healthy cells, or taking a very serious medication that would do the same, you should be fine.
