Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Friday! Anatomy scan and midwife visit! We also take possession of our new home that day. Wednesday is my 30th birthday, this will be a great birthday gift.
Any new symptoms or changes? Movements are finally feeling more like kicks and less like flutters.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nope! Still pukey, exhausted and have a ton of zits... But I am on cloud 9 with everything that's happening this week!
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? I am one of those weirdos who loves candy corn. And crunchie bars (my fellow Canadians you know what I'm talking about)
@shaunaT25 Happy early birthday!!! That's so exciting about the house!!!
How far along are you? 18 weeks + 1 day
How big is baby? Artichoke, 5.5"
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Monday, have a standard check up. Anatomy scan isn't until Nov 4
Any new symptoms or changes? Not really, just growing bigger.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Not really. A bit frustrated I have to wait till nov 4 for my next scan, but just trying to be patient. Starting prenatal yoga this
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? I'd have to say for me it's Reece's peanut butter cups. Yum!!! Although, like you @shaunat25 my husband is OBSESSED with candy corn.
Lol, we are so bad at starting this on time! confession: I thought about starting it early Saturday, but decided I was too lazy and would wait for someone else to do it. Baha.
How far along are you? 22 weeks today!!'
How big is baby? About a foot long! Ovia Nalgene water bottle or GuineaPig. Baby has a 10% chance of survival if born this week!? How crazy is that.
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Next Appt: October 31st.
Any new symptoms or changes? My hips are spreading like crazyyyy already this time around. Maybe because they did it once already? Been wearing a support belt that helps a little, but I can still feel my hips popping in and out of place when I walk.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am stuck feeling half like this pregnancy is flying by crazy quick. And half like it's dragging on and will never come to an end. I'm already feeling "done" with being pregnant and ready to meet this baby and get life started as a family of four! Hoping as the holidays get closer things pick up speed with all the busyness of the season.
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? lame here--don't celebrate halloween. But: I love all candy. So favorite Halloween candy? The candy on sale the day after Halloween
@ShaunaT25 Early Happy Birthday!! Congrats on the house and yay for your as scan coming this week too! So much to celebrate
@npaulie Hurrah for prenatal yoga! Hope you love it! They have lots of postnatal yoga in my area where you can bring baby and do your practice together! I think that would be so sweet for after!
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Anatomy scan on Halloween
Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling baby move at least once a day now
Rants/Raves/Questions? 1 - Going to Colorado next weekend to see my parents. Really excited to go see some mountains!! 2 - All the spotting I was having for the last few weeks is due to the fact that I have a partial placenta previa. It doesn't completely cover the cervix, but it does cover part of it. Should resolve on its own before delivery, but for now I can't do anything more strenuous than walking and yoga and on complete pelvic rest. Hoping there's some improvement by my anatomy scan.
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? Definitely Reese's. But I've also tried the new Butterfinger peanut butter cups and those are addictive!
How big is baby? The Bump says a banana, What to Expect says a mango, and BabySizer says a pint of root beer. But everywhere says about 6.5 inches long.
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Nothing until the 2nd.
Any new symptoms or changes? Starting to feel some stretching and growing pains but feeling pretty good for the most part.
Rants/Raves/Questions? We started a baby registry this weekend. It was overwhelming and exciting!
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? I love Snickers...but that's not really specific to Halloween or fall. I love candy corn too.
@kjd291 I'm feeling the same way...sometimes I feel like it's flying by and sometimes I feel like it's dragging. Either way, just excited to meet this baby!
@npaulie I'd love to hear how you like prenatal yoga! It sounds like fun!
@ShaunaT25 Wow..you have a big week this week! Happy early birthday!
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Our anatomy scan is Thursday 10/20!!!! We are very excited!
Any new symptoms or changes? Hip/back pain
Rants/Raves/Questions? It's been a really rough week for me. It seriously feels like someone is trying to rip my legs off! Sleeping is a nightmare since I'm "supposed" to be sleeping on my sides, but the pain in my hips makes that very difficult. Yesterday the worst RLP I've had so far started. I was up half the night and have spent my day today in horrible pain. I can't stand or walk without it being unbearable. Here's to hoping next week is better!
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? I don't eat sugar so no candy for me.
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Week after next. Can't wait for the AS, but also super excited that I have a full 14 days without having blood drawn.
Any new symptoms or changes? I got pimples! Also leg cramps for days. Super lame.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Interested in where everyone's doing registries, I think we're going with Amazon.
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? Yes. Candy corn, Twix, Snickers, Paydays, Butterfingers, Reeses, chocolates... made some gluten free chocolate chip pumpkin spice muffins that went over really well this weekend.
Lol, we are so bad at starting this on time! Totally cool with me! I forget about computers/internet on the weekendafter being in front of them all week long.
How far along are you? 20 weeks!
How big is baby? Banana
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Wednesday! Cannot wait
Any new symptoms or changes? I am normally a back sleeper and realize that I'm supposed to switch to sides for the second half, but I've been practicing for the last month or so and have serious pain in hips/ribs sleeping on sides. Baby Cutter must be using my lungs as a pillow because it feels like he's pinching them like crazy sometimes! Other than that, my energy levels are great and I feel awesome! So far, this is a lot easier than I thought it would be.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: People and their lack of common sense about nutrition seriously tick me off! Especially, when it impacts their children's health. Rave: We are embarking on my most favorite half of the year! Chilly air. Cozying up. Lots of stuff to do. Lots of reasons to celebrate and get together. The best! Question: Is anyone else having their placenta encapsulated?
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? I'm not really a fan of halloween candy or candy in general. I love me some fruit snacks or gummies, though, which are kinda the same thing!
@ShaunaT25 Happy early 30th!! I turn 30 soon, too, and am totally excited about it! I hope your birthday week is amazing! @RunBooRun Enjoy Colorado! It's of my favorite places.
@Bradleerick I'm not planning to, although just about every doula around here offers placenta encapsulation/smoothies/etc. I'm curious about it - are there studies on it? What's behind your decision to?
How big is baby? Big enough to be felt around and sometimes slightly higher than my belly button area!! ❤️
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment?
No scheduled appt but I may have to go in sometime this week due to concerns about vag pain/pressure. I think it's just due to my cerclage but wanted to make sure. Otherwise I have a MFM appt 10/31 and regular OB appt 11/3!
Any new symptoms or changes? Same sickness still going on and also the above mentioned vaginal pain and pressure when walking too much.
Rants/Raves/Questions? So happy to ne at my halfway mark! 19 weeks to go (repeat scheduled C section!)
@sunshine507- I'm sure there are studies on it, but I haven't dug too deep. I'm making the decision to do it based on my experience being around lots of my friends and family postpartum and the fact that mammals, in general, typically eat their placentas after giving birth. After experiencing the first trimester (which wasn't super terrible for me), it reinforced how large of a role the placenta plays in pregnancy. Before baby relied on it, baby relied totally on me and it was draining in many ways! It's not crazy expensive, the capsules can be taken as needed, the only negative side effect from what I've read is the jitters (like you get from too much caffeine), and if it helps me have a transition through postpartum like the placenta assisted in transitioning me into pregnancy, I'll be totally grateful.
If there's anyone here against it though, I'd like to hear why!
@npaulie Thank You! *update* I ended up in the ER and had to see my Midwife today. I have something called red degeneration which causes excruciating pain. The ER doc kind of made me feel like I was over exaggerating ligament paint, but when I saw my Midwife today, the ultrasound confirmed the fibroid. I urge you all to trust your bodies ladies!!! Baby is completely fine and unaffected!
So glad to hear that everything is okay @dizzymom ! Yeah, my thoughts are I'd always prefer to err on the side of caution when I'm unsure. Glad the midwife was able to see what was going on! Is there anything they can do for it?

Not a whole lot. They gave me an anti inflammatory shot, which is a temporary fix. I have to wait it out 2-4 weeks! I have an appointment for a level 2 ultrasound with the high risk doctor to check on it. Just to make sure it doesn't cause any further problems since it is on my uterus. I'm just happy the baby is safe in there!
Sorry gals, we were so busy yesterday that I completely missed this.
How far along are you? 20 weeks, 2 days
How big is baby? banana, apparently he's 11oz.
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Tomorrow I have a regular check up. We had the anatomy scan on Friday and it was great.
Any new symptoms or changes? My back is killing me. I dug out the ol' pregnancy pillow and it seemed to make it worse. DH hates that thing with a passion so it's not worth it and I'm trashing it.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Ultrasound went really well and baby looked healthy, good amount of fluid and all that. We found out we're having a boy! The lady took some awesome pictures, like when he curled his fingers and she just got it so it looks like he's doing a "rock on" gesture, for example. Why, oh, why, didn't she give us that one to take home? We got a bunch of grainy pictures of his feet and a blurry image of his face. Ugh. AND my cervix is super low so now I'm on "vaginal rest."
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? Snickers, for sure.
Sorry to fall off been super busy. How far along are you? 20 weeks half way
How big is baby? A banana or axolotl
Upcoming appointments this week? If not, when is your next appointment? Finally getting in for my anatomy scan on Wednesday. Going over a month without an appt sucks. But found an awesome new doctors office in our new town.
Any new symptoms or changes? RLP is the worst and is driving me crazy.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Offer was accepted on the third house we tried to buy. We close on the 16th of November yay!!!! Just in time to move in the snow in Tahoe lol. But super excited to one be out of my mom house and two not have to rent a house again.
GTKY: Favorite Halloween Candy? Have to second with all the ladies I love Reece's. Especially the white choclate ones.
