Upcoming appointments this week? I have a Beta draw on Wednesday. If my levels still look good, I will get to schedule my ultrasound.

Any new symptoms or changes? I’m still just craving salsa. I also have sore breasts and haven’t been feeling too well at night. Also, my feet are super cold!

Rants/Raves/Questions?

Rave: I am still just so excited about being on the BMB! I can’t imagine anything making me happier right now!

Rant: I hate when people wish sickness on me. It's like people think that if you’re sick it must mean the pregnancy is going well. I mean, a lot of people have successful pregnancies without any kind of sickness. I would be really happy to not be miserable sick.

Question: Is anyone planning to do an NIPT? Or, have you done an NIPT before?

GTKY: There are a lot of pregnancy books out there! What is everyone reading/plan to read, if anything? I have read “Sippy Cups are not for Chardonnay” by Stefani Wilder-Taylor. I thought it was interesting and funny. There were some chapters I did not agree with like the co-sleeping chapter.

I am reading “Do Chocolate Lovers have Sweeter Babies?” By Jena Pincott. It has been really interesting so far. It’s very science-based. It does get a little long and detailed in the science in some parts, but I feel like I’ve learned a lot. It answers questions I feel like many people wonder about, but can’t find the answer to.

I plan to read “Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy”, “The Baby Bump” by Roney Carley, and “Bringing up Bebe” by Pamela Druckerman.

Upcoming appts? Next monday I see my regular doctor for my first prenatal.
New symptoms or changes? Not really. Still just a little nausea and tiny bit of sore nipples. Fullness/bloating and some cramps in abdomen.
Rants/raves/questions: I had a sleepgasm last night and had terrible uterine cramps afterwards for a few minutes. Now I'm scared that I did something to the baby even though I know it's totally normal to cramp after O.
GTKY: I still have my What to Expect and Mayo Clinic Guide from when I had DD. I will also probably read a book on doulas and one on VBAC since I am considering both.

@mrlight My sister in law just had the Harmony test done a few months ago, she is 29 and her insurance covered it. I am planning on asking my OB about the Harmony test on Thursday and whether my insurance will cover it. But I have read that if your insurance does not cover it the company will settle for about $200.

Upcoming appointments this week? I wish not until the first full week in November as my doctor has a 8 week rule unless something is wrong.

Any new symptoms or changes? Not really, Sore boobs at night and when I first take my bra off, and feeling hungry and have an upset stomach as the same time.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Its killing me waiting for my doctors appointment every little thing makes me scared but I guess that comes with the territory.

GTKY: There are a lot of pregnancy books out there! What is everyone reading/plan to read, if anything? I am currently a full time student (graduating in may) so if I find time to read outside of my textbooks I will but no books in mind yet.

@Mashunya425 Thanks! I was thinking about doing the Harmony test. My insurance won't cover NIPT, so I called Harmony, MaterniT21, Verifi, and Panorama for prices without insurance. They were all between $100 and $200 without insurance except one. It was around $800. I have the price list at home, so I don't remember which one was the expensive one. Do you know if the Harmony test was accurate for your sister in law?

@amberp1528 I just got my Master's in August, and my program required you to be employed full time also, so I know exactly what you are going through! Good luck!!

Upcoming appointments this week? Nope, waiting on my OB to get back to me today to schedule my first appt.

Any new symptoms or changes? My boobs are huge and they hurt like woah. My dreams have been insane. And the bloat is real ovah herrrre. But otherwise I feel really good. I'm hoping the trend continues.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Just got back from a business trip last week. It was a nice distraction during the first week of OMG I'm KU. Now I'm just trying to settle back into my routine.

GTKY: There are a lot of pregnancy books out there! What is everyone reading/plan to read, if anything? Currently reading What to Expect. But I'm intrigued to see what everyone is reading!

Trying to decide whether or not to do the materni21 test. I have 2 boys and would like to know if this is another boy or girl (flame away). I don't know if it'd be better for my mental health to know early or wait.

@berg How is "What to Expect?" (I love that movie! Haha!) When a friend of mine got KU a couple of years ago, she was told by another friend not to read it or it would give her nightmares. So, I haven't purchased it, yet.

Any new symptoms or changes? Nope, still the same. I need 10 hours of sleep to feel rested every night. It's been marvelous going to bed early.

@mirdamae03 I have been trying to sleep more too but I still wake up tried. Since I do not work full time I have a lot of down time that gets the best of me when it comes to tiredness. I almost love getting called into work (I am a Sub) so i can get up a move so I don't feel so sleepy!

Upcoming appointments this week? Not this week, but I have an ultrasound next Monday! It could have been this week but they said I couldn't bring DD by myself so I had to schedule it for when DH could come.

Any new symptoms or changes? Not really. I'm one of those people everyone hates because I never had any symptoms except a growing belly last time and it looks like I'm going the same route this time. (Fingers crossed!)

Rants/Raves/Questions? DH brought me chocolate milk on his way home last night.

Upcoming appointments this week? Had my first OB appointment scheduled for next Monday but had some spotting this weekend so got an appointment today to check on things.

Any new symptoms or changes? Still no morning sickness...not really feeling "pregnant" other than sore boobs.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Had some spotting over the weekend - very light amount wise and dark in color so old blood. Also not getting any heavier and possibly starting to slow down. I'm a first time mom and so I'm concerned. Any of you guys have spotting in previous pregnancies? How did they turn out?

GTKY: There are a lot of pregnancy books out there! What is everyone reading/plan to read, if anything? I have been through what to expect on my kindle and am looking for other suggestions!

Any new symptoms or changes? Headaches like whoa and just feeling “off”. Also had a dream about my teeth falling out, so there is that.

Rants/Raves/Questions? You know what is great for morning sickness? Having your toddler throw up in your car on the way to work.

I wish I could say yes, but I haven’t read anything yet this time. I did read the Mayo Clinic Guide, WTEWYE, and some Ina May Gaskin last go around.

@amberp1528 agreed on the feeling hungry and having an upset stomach at the same time. Sometimes like an hour after I eat.

@mrlight It was accurate it terms of the sex, and no signs of any chromosomal abnormalities. She is 32 weeks now, so no way to tell 100% for sure until she gives birth. Would you be able to share the price list once you have it? It would be so useful! I have no problem paying 100-200$ for the assurance.

Upcoming appointments this week? I went to have a pelvic exam and labs today. I may need to have them redrawn in a few days depending on beta levels.

Rant: My sister, husband, and bff are the only people I've told IRL. My sister is basically ignoring me now and it's the weirdest thing. We were best friends, but she gets so weird any time anything big happens in my life. We have daughters four months apart, so I'm wondering if she's upset that I'm first to become pregnant with a second child. I'll probably never know, but I do know that she didn't even pretend to be happy for me.

Raves: I'm just happy to be here and am excited to get to know everyone!

GTKY: There are a lot of pregnancy books out there! What is everyone reading/plan to read, if anything? None yet. I didn't read any with my first, so I doubt I will with this one.

Any new symptoms or changes? I am CRAVING salads! Which is NOT normal for me! I have had to stay away from red sauce--including pizza

or else i have major heartburn and it makes me feel like i could vomit. I have only thrown up once so far which is a far cry from my first pregnancy!

GTKY: There are a lot of pregnancy books out there! What is everyone reading/plan to read, if anything? A few ladies from here have said to read "Expecting Better" so I ordered that and it is on the way! Jenny McCarthy's Belly Laughs was hilarious when I read it during my last pregnancy. If anyone wants a funny parenting book check out "I heart my little A-holes" by Karen Alpert. She just came out with another one called "I want my Epidural Back" I haven't read all of the second yet, but its pretty funny

Any new symptoms or changes? Not really. Nausea is still pretty constant, and I'm super tired

Just got done at the doc. Didn't see what we were hoping to on ultrasound...but that could just mean the dates were off..found what we think is where baby will be but no heartbeat and it doesn't look like as far along as I should be.. Going back in two weeks for another scan.
