C sections

any mamas who have had c sections before or are well read in care for post sections:

have any of you used a belly support wrap after?
I was recommended the belly bandit by someone who just had one. She said she has friends who have used other kinds but found they didn't stay up.
I'm wondering if you used one what brand did you use and how did you find it?

Otherwise I'm looking at 80-110 for a belly bandit.

Re: C sections

  • I never used one with my previous c-sections, so you don't NEED one. You can ask your dr if the hospital can provide you with one, then it'll be covered by insurance.

I have the pregnancy belly bandit which is nice and can be used afterwards with an ice/ heat pack but will not cover the whole belly, so I can't speak to the effectiveness of the belly bandit post partum

  • I just asked my PT about a post-partum binder and she said to get a PT consult while in the hospital and they'd fit me for one. I just want one for recovery, but I think with a c-section it'd be super helpful and almost medically necessary.

  • I didn't have anything but I did definitely use things (like windowsills, arm rests, etc) to get up for the first bit.   I am assuming this is what it would help with.

  • Just search for abdominal binder on Amazon. You can find super cheap ones for around $13. I have no idea what the quality is like on the cheap ones, but that's what reviews are for!

  • I just got one off of zulily for $40! (Yes I am back after a million months away. Only because I'm at my moms, soon I go back to the middle of no where with no internet. Hope you have all had a great pregnancy!)
