Anyone starting cows milk early? NFT!

Ok, don't flame me for this! I'm just thinking it over!!

Has anyone started cows milk before 12 months? I am having trouble getting DD to drop any BF sessions. I wanted to have her weaned by 12 months but I also want it to be a comfortable transition for both of us. She has never had any formula and I'd like to keep it that way if possible and was considering (in a couple weeks) trying to sub out a feeding for a sippy of cows milk. It would really only be a couple weeks early.

Anyone done this?

I am not flaming. I give DS less than 2 ounces a day or everyother day in his sippy (per the pedi) since hes been on table foods since 8m. Pedi said we could start. I give him scrambled eggs i make it with whole milk also.

Hi there-

We had my daughters 9 month appt last week. According to my ped. the reason not to give cows milk until kids are 1 is that they need the iron that is present in breastmilk or formula until that age. Hwe ok'd us for dairy but was adament about telling me to keep breastfeeding or to give formula in a sippy.
