Re: Weekly Appointments Check-in (10/10-10/16)

  • Did you or will you have an appointment this week? Yep, this morning!

How did it go / what are you looking forward toIt went well. I was a little bummed after my 12 week appt because the ultrasound was so rushed. This one was better! I got to see them moving around!

Raves & rants: Rave: Still on a every 4 week schedule, which is awesome for twins. I'm still about as low risk as I can be for a twin pregnancy.

Rant: I've had my anatomy scan booked since my 12 week appt, but I was told today I have to go see a MFM (maternal fetal medicine) specialist for a level 2 ultrasound, they will apparently call me to book the anatomy scan, but have yet to do that. I'm hoping they have a fairly flexible appointment schedule. As it was I had the anatomy scan booked for 20 +5 (WAYYY later than most of you), but I would prefer to not have to wait more than a month.

Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? Abdominal! Mostly for heart tones, which is standard at my OB for multiples at every appointment instead of a doppler.

How far along are you? 16 weeks 5 days

Multi or rocking the singleton? Di/Di Twins (separate placenta and amniotic sacs, probably fraternal, if they're the same sex there is a small chance they could be identical.)

Do you know the gender(s) yet? So, the ultrasound tech at my practice was super no nonsense last time. We're talking 5 min ultrasound to get heart tones ONLY. This one was supposed to be the same thing. I casually mentioned that we would like to know the genders if the babies wanted to cooperate. Her eyes lit up and she was on a mission!

I've been suspecting boy/boy. She said that they look boy/boy to her as well, but not to paint the nursery just yet the umbilical cord placement was funny for Baby B, but we're pretty sure that Baby A is a boy!

Have you announced yet? Yep! I was really hoping to wait until 16 or 17 weeks, but I ended up announcing at 14weeks on the dot because my bump was getting hard to camouflage. There is also some construction happen in my office right now, so I had to announce to my bosses earlier because I was constantly relocating due to chemical smells and avoiding drywall dust.

When is your next appointmentI honestly don't know? Not sure when my MFM appointment will end up being. I guess no matter what I have the regular OB appointment on 11/7.

What are you looking forward to at your next appointmentAnatomy scan, confirmation of sexes.

GTNY: fav soda (pop or coke or wtvr u call it!)? I really like Sprecher's Root Beer. Pretty sure it's regional to the midwest.

Did you or will you have an appointment this week? I had an appointment yesterday

How did it go / what are you looking forward to? It went good--I got to schedule the anatomy scan which I am super excited about!

Raves & rants: The doctor did say that I tested positive for Strep B. She didn't see too concerned and said I would just need antibiotics once I go into labor and the baby might need some as well. Has anyone had experience with this?

Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? Nope, I cant wait till my next appointment to find out the sex and get an ultrasound. I haven't had one since my dating ultrasound at 7 weeks!

How far along are you? 16 weeks 3 days

Multi or rocking the singleton? Singleton

Do you know the gender(s) yet? only 4 week left to find out!

Have you announced yet? Yes, we announced early on to my close family and friends. Just announced to work last week!

When is your next appointment? Nov 11th

What are you looking forward to at your next appointment? Anatomy Scan!

GTNY: fav soda (pop or coke or wtvr u call it!)? Diet Coke with Lime

  • Did you or will you have an appointment this week? - The Anatomy Scan was yesterday

How did it go / what are you looking forward to? - It went pretty well. We were able to confirm the genders (see below) and watch the babies squirm around and Baby B kicking poor Baby A in the head constantly. Baby B is measuring about 8 days behind and has a cyst on her brain. They don't seem concerned about the cyst and said that any number of factors could go into her being smaller but they are planning to watch really closely. We have no other risk factors, hearts, etc. looked great yesterday so we opted out of any additional genetic testing/amnio to check her out.

Raves & rants: It was amazing to watch them move around and watch the blood flow through the hearts!

Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? - Abdominal Anatomy Scan! :)

How far along are you? - 19 weeks & 4 days

Multi or rocking the singleton? - Di/Di Fraternal Miracles!

Do you know the gender(s) yet? Baby A is officially a little boy and Baby B is a little girl (who loves to beat up on her brother already!).

Have you announced yet? - Yes, we announced to family and friends very early on. We shared the genders with family and close friends last night and will continue to share as we see people.

When is your next appointment? - We have a growth scan and fetal echocardiograms for the babies on November 1st.

What are you looking forward to at your next appointment? - Hopefully my little girl continues to grow and is just smaller than her brother!

GTNY: fav soda (pop or coke or wtvr u call it!)? - I rarely drank soda (like maybe 3-4 times per year) prior to being pregnant. Now I can't get enough Sprite!

  • Did you or will you have an appointment this week? I had one yesterday. I actually had one last week, too, but it was too early to do the quad screen, so he had me come back. He did another full prenatal check up for some reason, but whatevs.

How did it go / what are you looking forward to? It went great. Heard the heartbeat and got my blood drawn. We were discussing the VBAC vs. R C/S choice and I mentioned that I wasn't sure about a VBAC since DS was 10 lbs. He was like "Um, what? Okay. No VBAC for you, then." So, we scheduled my c/s for 3/17. Eeek!

Raves & rants: I had a smoothie for lunch yesterday and it threw the glucose levels in my urine way off. I wish they would tell you that you shouldn't eat particularly sugary things on the day of your appointment.

Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? Nada

How far along are you? 16+6

Multi or rocking the singleton? Singleton

Do you know the gender(s) yet? Sneak Peek and elective u/s said boy.

    Have you announced yet? Yep.

When is your next appointment? Probably the anatomy scan, which I can schedule when we get the quad screen results back. I can have that between 19 and 20 weeks.

What are you looking forward to at your next appointment? Seeing baby again and hopefully confirming a healthy baby.

GTNY: fav soda (pop or coke or wtvr u call it!)? I'm a huge fan of those Coca Cola Freestyle machines where you can get flavored syrups. My favorite is Cherry Vanilla Caffeine Free Diet Coke.

Did you or will you have an appointment this week? We had one today

How did it go / what are you looking forward to? Great! Pretty basic stuff today, doc put me on baby aspirin as a precaution against pre-e, and I have a lab order to go get poked for the down syndrome screening. They gave me a flu shot and quick u/s, and sent me on my way.

Raves & rants: I'm not feeling the baby move yet, which was unnerving, but I felt better after today. Apparently this baby is sitting more in the center of my uterus, so I just have to wait for him to get a little bigger. He was squirming, wiggling, and giving us a run for our money trying to catch a peek of the gender.

Did you get an ultrasound? TV or Ab? Abdominal ultrasound

How far along are you? 17 weeks today

Multi or rocking the singleton? Just one!

Do you know the gender(s) yet? At the ultrasound today, once he stayed still for a second, it looked very much like a boy.

Have you announced yet? Yes. We announced early to family, and on FB at 12 weeks.

When is your next appointment? Anatomy scan on 10/27, and my next regular appointment is 11/10

What are you looking forward to at your next appointment? Confirming if it is definitely a boy!

GTNY: fav soda (pop or coke or wtvr u call it!)? Diet Dr Pepper.....especially if it is in Polar Pop form!

maybe you have an anterior placenta like me. that means the placenta is in the front of my belly not like back, so the babies got to kick through all that. i am feeling them more this week. more flutters (19 weeks tomorrow)

I wouldn't sweat the pain! I get these at night from time to time if I get up too quickly in the morning. I've heard that it's round ligament pain from uterine stretching and all that fun stuff.
