Trying to Get Pregnant

Coming off Birth Control...what was your experience like?

Hopefully it's ok, I felt like this wouldn't fit in any of the other normal threads, but wanted to ask everyone. I know all experiences are different, but curious about what others went through.

I am getting my Mirena IUD out in 24 hours (tomorrow at 2:00pm) and it will be the first time in 12 years that I will not be on birth control. I am preparing myself for the potential long period I have read about, but also recognize that might not happen. My friend jokingly said she would get me a tub of ice cream, tissues and box of tampons to prepare for the emotional onslaught that will likely follow.

Since most of you are TTC on here, I am just curious what your experience was like coming off birth control and what type you were on before.

Thanks for any responses!

mylove071407 : Never asked for the congratulations. Also, I noted every experience is different. But googling is not super helpful. Let's face it, people ask questions on here that could be googled as well. We come here for a community of experiences, not to just google for answers.
  • @lulu1180 By god we've done it again! You are wonderful and in the future you may cosign me to any post you make to a drive by.

You already asked this question back in September (a little over a month ago). And from glancing at replies, it looks like those who replied, shared their experience as well. So the reason for this post is...??

For those saying to google: what's the point of the questions section on the WTO thread? What is the point of a discussion forum?

How about you just google it. I am not asking what happens when I get off bc, I was asking what other's experiences were. Which is what this board is literally all about...everyone's experiences in the TTC process. So if you all took the advice of googling, no one would be on this board...

Did I say TTC was sunshine and roses? Nope, obviously. I have seen that this board is far from sunshine and roses...clearly.

@SaphireSweetie88: I mentioned before, the other thread was different and asked when people decided to come off. But it's kind of a moot point now.

Lost cause at this point. Just go about your day everyone :)
  • It wasn't the fact that you asked the question, it's that you didn't ask it in the appropriate place on the board.  Or that you didn't use the search function. And after you've been on this board for a few weeks and seen the way we flame drive-bys you should really know better.

And for the record, a lot of time when I ask a question in the WTO or TWW thread I will also see what I can find on google but it's also nice to get it straight from the horse's mouth so to speak.
