Halloween is a favorite in this house and I started decorating weeks ago. Little by little - skeletons and spiders webs are moving in HA! If you dress up, what will you be? Are you incorporating your June Bug in your costume?

I probably won't be dressing up aside from wearing a pumpkin shirt. My kids are going to be scarecrows, my mom makes their costumes and they are always so cute and awesome!!

We have a community parade and costume contest every year. I'm totally bitter about not winning last year with our Pac Mac, Pac Woman, and two tiny ghosts costumes. We spent a month making them and they were awesome! We used wood for the insides...it was very labor intensive!
This year we are smores as a family with DH and I being the graham crackers, DS1 is the chocolate bar and DS2 is the marshmallow. Then DS1 is still deciding what he wants to be for school - so far he has said a Ninja Turtle, the Hulk, or a Lollipop...

That all sounds so exciting. My DS has taken full control of his motor skills so putting any decorations up will only result in 'the dog ate my homework' and me fishing around in his mouth to see what he found. Still, I'm trying super hard to get halloween off so we can go to grandma's and take all those cute little halloweeny pictures XD
He's probably gonna be a wolf; still not sure though!
My work is having a big awards luncheon and we will all get dressed up for it. My team is going as characters from Batman. So far we have Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Batman, Harley Quinn. Two of us left to decide. I said we should go as Joker and Riddler
Last December we went to Disney World which included a day at Universal so I could spend way too much money at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I bought enough Gryffindor team gear to wear as my costume this year... so I will pretty much be dressed as though I'm at a Quidditch game!
***BFP & Child Warning***
Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014 IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs IVF ER (July 2016) = 7 PGS normal embryos FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17 FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
We have an annual Halloween party at our best friends. Last year my DH sand I were "mombie and zombie". Basically zombie parents, which was fitting as DS was a terrible sleeper.
This is year we're going to be ninjas. Simple and easy...also comfy.
Question, DS is 18 months, very social and has an above average vocabulary for his age...take him trick or treating? Or at 18 months does that still look like we're using our child for candy? Which, of course, we are.
DD has the perfect Pebbles Flintstone hair and everyone calls her Pebbles, so we'll be going as the Flintstones. My mom is helping me make Fred, Wilma, and Pebbles outfits and our pup will be Dino.
@devow27 - Totally take him trick or treating. We'll be taking DD and she'll be 14 months. I think people like to see the little kids and nobody minds giving them/you candy. I'd rather give candy to a costumed toddler than a teenager who doesn't even wear a costume and just comes for the candy. We were never allowed to do that as teens.
We haven't decided 100% yet. But we may do Pooh (my little guy), Christopher Robin (husband), and piglet (me).
I've debated revealing to my family with a costume highlighting this new baby but I'm not sure yet. Some days I want to juse show up with a massive bump or new baby.
I probably won't dress up but DD wil be a little pink pig since she's a chunker and I think I've convinced DH to dress up as a farmer. If anything, I'd be the cow since I'm still the milk machine for my little piggy.
My boys 4 and 3 are OBSESSED with garbage men/trucks... so my two boys, my husband and I are all being garbage men and we are turning my stroller into the truck. My youngest who will sit in the stroller for the most part she is going as oscar the grouch to fit in with the theme. I'm super excited, Halloween is my fave!
I think DS is going to be a puppy and I might dress up as a cat. At least do ears and a tail. I really want DD to be a cat with me but she wants to be a princess so I'm hoping I can at least get her to be a kitty with me for at least one little event.
DD is obsessed with the Disney Princesses so I took her to find one to wear, but NOOOoOoO she wanted "Mickey" Then I saw her in the Mickey costume and I died a little bit
I needed this thread to begin to think about halloween. Last year's, DS was Scooby-Doo Doors and I was Catwoman. I have no idea about this year. We are displaced bc our home flooded in the August south Louisiana flood so no decorating for us. I enjoyed decorating last year as it was our first year in our home.
So many adorable costumes and great ideas here! I'm usually pretty lame about dressing up to hand out candy. Every year I say I'll get more creative, but it never seems to happen. I do dress up my poor cat every year. He doesn't love it, but he puts up with it pretty well and I get fun pictures out of it.
My son is going to be a pterodactyl fossil (skeleton) and my daughter is going as Belle. They both have trunk or treat at their schools so I need to come up with a theme/costume for me and the car.
DS (2.5y) is going to be one of the triplets from Brave. He looks JUST like them (has curly red hair and bright blue eyes) and when he sees them come on screen he yells "that's me!". Haha - we couldn't resist. DD (10 months) is going to be a ladybug since that is our nickname for her.
This year my twin boys are going to be Peter Pan and Captain Hook... they picked it, so I'm rolling with it!
I'll be wearing a FARE Teal Pumpkin Project (re: food allergies) to support inclusion of kids with food allergies in the fun festivities of Halloween!!
I'm dressing as Jessica Jones for work since it won't be a very intrusive costume.
6yo is going as a ninja. 4yo will be a firefighter for the 2nd year in a row. 22mo will be a skeleton if I can find the box of hand-me-downs I stashed.
I am most excited about decorating our house this year. I usually don't get around to much beyond carving pumpkins but this year I convinced my husband to rig a Stranger Things setup. He's played around with programming lights before so I want Christmas lights spelling out R-U-N and the clash blasting inside the house. If we can figure out a motion sensor path lighting up to the door that be sweet. I don't know if any of our neighbors will get it but I don't care.
I won't be dressing up. My 11 mo old DS will be a tucan. He hates his costume though. We will only be taking him to grandparents homes and two neighbors. His daycare is holding a Halloween party and she has asked that the kids come in their costumes. He is having terrible separation anxiety and cries a lot when he is there so I don't think it will be fair to him to go in his costume as well.
We love Halloween over here and will do a family costume. This year DS will be a lion, my husband another animal TBD, and I will have a safari costume. This was last year as Monsters Inc.
This will be my second ever Halloween to celebrate. I'm not sure what I'll be going as yet. We only know that DD is going to be a frog. We're going to be doing our church's trunk or treat, so I don't know. I did a cat last year, maybe I'll be a deer this time around. Or a fairy? Maybe I'll just dress up as the nice lady handing out candy.
