I had an ultrasound on Monday. The RN called me today and said at my 24 week appointment I have to go in for another ultrasound. The baby's bladder wasn't full enough. They said not to worry but I am. Wondering if this has happened to anybody?
I had the opposite problem -- baby's bladder was TOO full and they thought that could mean it wasn't draining properly or there could have been a blockage. I was worried sick and googled frantically but all was fine at the follow up ultrasound. It's easier said than done, but try not to worry if they told you not to!
The baby had probably just peed, and as a result they just didn't get a good clear picture of it -- or that's what I would assume! Hopefully they get a better shot next time and can put your mind at ease. ETA: Also, I assume your 24-week appointment is still a few weeks away, since you just
had this ultrasound? If they were really concerned about something,
they would have you come back in sooner than your next scheduled appt! The fact that it can wait until you're there again should help you feel better too.
