Depression and pregnancy

During an awareness event in my community recently, I learned about the link between pregnancy and depression. I knew that postpartum depression was common, but not pre-natal depression. The Washington post had a nice article on it today, so I thought I'd share with this community in case it's useful to any of you:

Thanks for sharing! With my first pregnancy I went through a really bad depression when the second trimester hit and I had no support. I tried to talk to my OB about it and he didn't show me any support either so it was a very very dark time in my life.. there's so much talk about postpartum depression but I never heard much about prenatal depression either.

  • I too went through a prenatal depression in my second trimester with my first. I really didn't realize how common it is.
