Cat napper tips

my Lo is 5 weeks old and a cat napper.. Only way I can get him to sleep an hour or so is on my chest or he wakes up any tips? He gets so over tired and then screams this is my second baby and my first would nap for hours anywhere he hates the swing car seat etc hell sometimes sleep in stroller but not a long period of time I  just bought a knock off moby wrap to try once he liked it today hated it

    I have no tips but my guy is 11 weeks and naps like this. He sleeps great at night but refuses to nap anywhere but on someone during the day. We've tried using the bedtime routine for nap time and he's up again within 15 mins. We hit a witching hour at 530 every night but I think it's just that he reaches a peak of overtiredness. I hope someone has some better tips.

    @john5111 and @jennyleigh16 we're in the same boat when we're at home during the day. She goes out once I put her in the stroller and go outside though, and she stays out for hours as long as she's outside (even if the stroller is parked). Once she comes back into the apt she wakes up and goes back to her catnapping self.
    Not a solution of you have things that you need to do at home, i'm just trying to figure out an answer too!

    Yep. Dealing with this over here too! She was doing great until last week. I never had a problem with her naps but there was some shift this past week. Night time is still consistent though with long stretches of sleep. She is 10 weeks old. The only way I can get her to sleep now is to let her cry a little. She is so exhausted it only takes 2-5 minutes and she is out. She will cry even if I hold her, unfortunately.  The moment I put her in the swaddle she freaks out. I just hold her while she screams and then set her down. But her naps are still not that great in length. Right now I'm just glad she is even sleeping.

    Same here. When she's super fussy during the day she will fall asleep in the lillebaby but usually doesn't like the ring sling or k'tan then. Maybe try something with more structure?

    In the same boat! My baby just naps in my arms and the minute I move or try to put her down she wakes up. I try to leave her to see if she falls asleep and nada. She naps in her stroller but we are visiting the grandparents and I don't have the one that fully reclines, which she prefers over the car seat clickin. I'm at my wits end! She gets overtired and cranky with such short naps, but conks out at night for two good 6 hour stretches, so there's that...

    So...I LOVE the zen swaddle. DS took a nap at ~1200. It's 3:40 and he's still asleep in his mamaroo in the family room with the TV on, laundry going, the lawn being mowed...this hasn't happened since like week 4. I think I'm going to marry the Zen Swaddle. 

    It also extended his night stretches by 1-2 hours each (basically getting rid of at least one of his wakings).

    Anyone feel like baby goes down better with other people? My baby won't go down for me to save my life but as soon as I hand her off to dad or grandpa she's out >:-|. It basically means that if I'm home alone all day I've got a non-napped, overtired baby on my hands. Wondering if it's just me?

    I had the same situation with my baby girl. Not sure if this will help you but I noticed I was drinking a lot of tea (6-7 cups) and that was affecting her. It would take me 3 hours to put her to sleep qand she would nap for 10mins. I was in tears. I stopped tea completely for 3 days and saw the difference. Now I drink tea only 2 times and she is napping fine. Check ur diet

    My LO is 13 weeks and has just started taking longer naps in the morning over the past 2 weeks. He sleeps great at night so I can't complain too much but it is very difficult to get anything done with a cat napper. I also use a Moby, usually he will fall asleep in it. It has really made a huge difference but some days my body aches from baby wearing so much.
