High needs babies

So of my 5 children 4 of them were high needs babies. In other words they seemed to be fussier, more sensitive to sounds, liked to eat around the clock, and had to be held constantly. So I decided to do some googling and found something to lift my spirits and give me some reassurance. Maybe this could be of use to some of you other moms who don't have an "easy" baby.

Re: High needs babies

  • Very interesting! I know sometimes I just need a good cry.

  • This is really interesting. I've never really heard much about this theory before. When they say trauma, like a death in the family, that means if the mother experiences it while pregnant, it can affect the baby? That's really never something I thought about.
  • My first was a high needs baby, and I went through a rough period the last month of my pregnancy . I always thought my sadness and crying affected her and caused some anxiety in her. She is now 8 and is a very sensitive person so I feel like this theory holds true for her. I held her all the time and I wouldn't say it reduced her crying but she knows I'm always there for her. It definitely helped create trust.
