How big is baby? zucchini. i'm not sure what zucchini's they are measuring.
Symptoms/Appointments/Happenings this week? no big changes in symptoms, just worsening pelvic instability. no appointments this week, unless you count taking DD2 to the pulmonologist for her follow up, and my weekly chiro visit. last week's adjustment didn't hold very long so hopefully we will have better results this week.
R/R/Q? everything and everyone is irritating me, and DH and I got into a fight yesterday over the garage door. we have a three car garage with two doors. the large one broke a few weeks ago, and MIL took it upon herself to replace the unit, which is fine because she parks there (yeah don't get me started on that). but she told DH that his remote couldn't be programmed because it is too old and gave him a new one that had both doors programed in it. except the one she gave him is the same model as he and I both have. so I tell him I would like him to help me program my remote so I can open both doors, and he just kept arguing with me that it wouldn't work because his mother told him it wouldn't work. well, MIL is wrong about 90% of the time when it comes to how electronics or machines work and I would at least like to try! but he gets so adamant that she is right, and I can't climb the ladder to do the program button, so I finally push the issue and make him do it and he launches into this tirade about how I can't be told what to do, that I am not trusting, etc etc etc. nonetheless, I made him climb the ladder and i was able to program the remote. then of course he tries to make me feel bad for being right. why can't he just understand that i am correct 100% of the time??? it would make things soooo much easier!
GTKY: what's the biggest "splurge" you've made for baby (or for you as a mom) so far, or plan on making? we haven't had to splurge much yet since most of what we are using is repurposed, but we did buy a small refrigerator/freezer for the garage which was under the guise that i will need the space for breastmilk storage since our kitchen freezer won't be able to accommodate the space to freeze all the baggies flat and our deep freezer doesn't have a good flat area either. and i plan on buying a new diaper bag even though i already have two, so i guess that is a splurge (i really want one with backpack straps so i'm planning on getting a jujube BFF). the only other big item i think will be a new video monitor since neither the angel care movement/sound or the Motorola video one we have fully function anymore.
How far along are you? 30 weeks. 75% percent cooked!
How big is baby? Platypus, Zucchini (better win an award at the fair), Bicycle helmet, Brie en Brioche
Symptoms/Appointments/Happenings this week? Symptoms are not ridiculous, I'm pretty sure I'm nesting though. Definitely a lot of pelvic pressure and pain. Appointment on Thursday to discuss birth wishes and get a hospital tour, followed by a regular OB appointment in the same building.
R/R/Q? Rave: DH and I got woken up at 6:00 this morning because our power went out for no explicable reason (no bad weather or even a breeze) but our battery backups on the appliances were screeching and stressing the dogs. Anyway we got up with them, but later after the power came back on, we had a glorious 3 hour nap. We both must have needed it pretty desperately. It feels good to have a lazy Sunday.
GTKY: What's the biggest "splurge" you've made for baby (or for you as a mom) so far, or plan on making?
That remains to be seen. We have mostly hand-me downs at this point, and I'm sort of reaching my limit there with that. I love deals and buying used when I can, but I do want him to have some new things. Especially since we hope there will be more children to pass the gear onto. I still have a shower a week from today so we will see what we need after that. We have discussed giving Eaton our bedroom furniture and getting ourselves some new things since ours were hand me downs as well. It would be neat to give Eaton that furniture because it was my FIL's, then my husband's/ours, and then now it will go to his son. If we do that sooner rather than later, that would definitely be our biggest splurge.
Symptoms are basically the same. No appointments this week, my monthly appointment is next week and then I'll be going every 2 weeks!! Things happening this week...we get our yearly family pictures taken this Thursday, so I'm excited about that since we always get a few good family pictures and some really nice ones of the boys every year
R/R/Q?
Nothing this week
GTKY: what's the biggest "splurge" you've made for baby (or for you as a mom) so far, or plan on making?
Our biggest splurge that we haven't bought yet will be our video monitor. Other than that our biggest splurge so far hasn't been for the baby but getting both boys into the same room and buying all new furniture for their room...so not directly for the baby but definitely towards getting ready for her lol.
How big is baby? Zucchini (she definitely feels as long as a good sized one most of the time!)
Symptoms/Appointments/Happenings this week? 30 week appointment tomorrow; starting to get swelling in my feet/hands if I've been overdoing it. Otherwise nothing new. Had to reschedule our maternity pictures from yesterday to the 29th due to the crappy weather.
R/R/Q? Rant: why is it so hard to find pants for my baby? Just PANTS. Everywhere I look it's either complete outfits or onesies. DH and I went to two different malls and Target today looking for 0-3 month pants for our Bean because we don't have many small things for her (lots of 3-6 month and 6-9 month, but only a few things in smaller sizes, which is what she'll need first). I did pick up a two pack of newborn pants at Target (not planning on buying too many newborn things because I'm sure she won't be wearing them long if I have a lot of clothing in newborn size) but I may just have to resort to ordering things online. As a piggyback to that rant, here is my second: why did I even bother making registries? I've already had one baby shower, my second one is at the end of the month, and out of two registries (both containing 30+ items each), there was a grand total of FOUR things purchased from both registries. Yes, people are getting her nice gifts (and I am very appreciative of that, don't get me wrong), but I'm going to have to go out and buy the things that I really need (for example, highchair, baby monitor, bottles, etc.) that I had on the registry that no one is buying! Ending rant now... I'm not really having the best day.
GTKY: what's the biggest "splurge" you've made for baby (or for you as a mom) so far, or plan on making? It will probably be the baby monitor, highchair, etc...
Symptoms/Appointments/Happenings this week? Had my first of two baby showers today. Swelling in my feet when I overdo it

GTKY: what's the biggest "splurge" you've made for baby (or for you as a mom) so far, or plan on making? Probably whatever we still need after the next shower is done.
@squiddy224. You are totally right on the baby pants thing, I completely forgot how rare they are to find just by themselves. I remember going through the same scavenger hunts for baby pants 4 years ago! I better start hunting now...
I'm a Friday girl so technically I'm lurking on your day here. But I just wanted to mention to @squiddy224@zubenescamali that Kohls has pants that they sell separately. Every time I've been in there they've been on sale for $4 or $5 each.
How big is baby? butternut squash, which I ate tonight.....
Symptoms/Appointments/Happenings this week? Diagnosed with GD this past week, so I have my appointment with a diabetic educator on Tuesday.
R/R/Q? I made butternut squash patties, pork chops with apples, and some side frozen veggies tonight. So delish.
GTKY: what's the biggest "splurge" you've made for baby (or for you as a mom) so far, or plan on making? I haven't bought this kid a thing. :P I have kept everything from DD #1, so I am not sure if I really need to buy anything else.
