Re: Stay Safe East Coast!

  • Thank you!  We evacuated late Wednesday night.   Both sides of our family are three hours inland.  Our in laws took the fur babies and my parents took us in. If things go as predicted, we will have a good 8 ft of water in our house by Saturday.  Praying this hurricane turns more east.

  • We stayed in our town (Daytona beach), my fiancé works for a nursing home so we stayed here. We are all safe, there's a lot of damage closer to the beach. However, /so far it seems that we were lucky and our neighborhood had minor tree damage but little to no damage to the homes. Just currently without power. We should be able to go back to our home tonight!

  • We had a friend drive by our house and they said we looked good.  Looks like the neighbors flooded so we are super lucky.  They said it would be several days without power.  The city water was contaminated so no water either.  Not sure when we will go home... I am so ready to be at my house!  I teach and school is out til at least Wednesday.   So thankful we were so fortunate, but ready to sleep in my own bed.
  • We are traveling out in California right now, but our house in Virginia survived with minimal damage. There's lots of flooding, trees down, and no power. Hopefully at least some of it will be cleaned up when we get home. The pictures we are seeing from here don't look good at all
