Month/Cycle: 1 / 1 (starting over since my appointment with the new doctor)
CD: 2
WAYDTGKU: Taking prenatals and will be using OPKs starting CD 10 per doctor's instructions. Was going to take Provera if AF didn't show on her own.
R/R: Rant: AF is kicking my butt right now and cramps are sucking as well as making me want to eat every junk food in sight - not very productive to my weight loss goals. Rave: I feel a lot more confident in our TTC journey since meeting with this new doctor.
CS/Q: Do you take OPKs in the morning with your 1st urine of the day (like with a HPT) or do you just make sure that it's around the same time every day? My doctor said specifically with my 2nd urine of the day. It just seemed weird that it wouldn't be the first. I tried doing some google searches / other searches and didn't find anything conclusive.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? Yes there are a few things that I still won't tell my parents. One thing is that I dated a 24 year old truck driver when I was around 16. This guy was so sleezy but at the time I thought it was awsome that someone was interested in me who wasn't a horny teen boy haha.
Me:28 | DH: 28 Married: 07-2014 TTC #1: Since November 2015 Restarted TTC "count" Oct. 2016 due to previous issues. ***TW*** BFP: 11/4/2016 *TW*
WAYDTGKU: for now pnv. Traveling this weekend so I will start temping Monday.
R/R: Its Friday!! And DH actually has a weekend off. I'm pretty sure just the 3rd one this year. We are going to visit his family. Should be a good time!
CS/Q: is it ok to start temping on cd6? I will be in a weird schedule and drinking this weekend so figured it wouldn't be worth it.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? So many things!!! My parents are very conservative and I am not! However, there isn't much I wouldn't tell my MIL. We are very close and very much alike so she knows most of my stories.
WAYDTGKU: The usual, thinking about starting Mucinex? Is that helpful if you hardly ever notice CM and always need preseed?
R/R: We got our results yesterday! DH's SA was *absolutely normal* and way above the thresholds mentioned!! Wooohooo!! As for me, my hormone's FSH/LH/testosterone were fine she said, but I do have Hashimoto's so I'm starting synthroid tomorrow. I don't know how much that has to do with TTC, but I was worried more if I do get KU. The urologist is great, but we don't have to go back for a while, if ever, so he suggested a new ob/gyn for me and to start my testing there. He said already having been at this 9 months and with my age, I should look into trying IUI soon. Blech. For some reason, I actually feel relieved that it is probably my problem.
CS/Q: Not right now, late for work, just had to update with the results!
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? I'm sure there's a lot I don't tell my parents, and my sex life is at the top of that list. Mom is verrrrryyyyy judgey. We aren't even telling them we are TTC!
Happy Friday, everyone! I can't respond until after work, but I can load the page and then read offline!
Highly monitored internet and no cell service in the office, so I'm postin' and ghostin' while I'm workin'
WAYDTGKU: PNV, temping and charting in FF, that's all right now
R/R: I think today is the first day this week I'm not running late for work...and it's Friday..
CS/Q: None today, although I will say that I'm a bit of a perfectionist and my half empty chart is making my eye twitch a little..
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? I can't think of one major thing I never told them, I wasn't very rebellious when I was younger, and am still not. There are a few minor things they would disapprove of but nothing I was ever afraid for them to know.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done?
I am trying to think of something but I cant. I had one of those weird relationships with my parents where they knew what I did and they were ok with it as long as I was smart and safe- they knew when drank or smoked, they knew I had sex, but since I was a pretty good kid and didn't do anything too bad, they didn't really intervene.
WAYDTGKU: Charting, temping (going to start but I couldn't the past 8 days since CD 1 because I was fighting a really nasty cold and it was hard to be consistent), opks, bding, and preseed.
R/R: It's October so a bunch of thriller/scary movies have been playing on cable lately. DH won't watch them with me but he's working nights right now so I get the tv all to myself.
CS/Q: none today
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? Got my nipples pierced.
@SaphireSweetie88 read the instructions with your opks. I'm not sure which you're using, but they can vary. Mine specifically say not to use fmu but other than that it doesn't matter. Some specify using smu, some want fmu. It totally depends on the test.
@GlitterFish I'm glad the SA results came back normal!! It's nice to check at least that off of the list.
Month/Cycle: 12/10
CD: 17
WAYDTGKU: tea, opks, checking cm, vitamins, temping.
R/R: it's Friday, so woohoo for that! This cold is running it's course and now I've developed an ear infection, so that's fun.
CS/Q: No.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done?
Ahaha, yes. A lot. Mostly because we moved around a lot when I was in high school so my friends were living about three hours away. I frequently took long trips down to visit them during the summer after junior year (once I got a license), and as far as I'm concerned what my mother doesn't know about the summer before I started college won't hurt her. I emerged unscathed!
@SaphireSweetie88 you might want to try testing a few times a day if you are trying to catch a surge. Some people may not always get a positive OPK depending on when and how often they are testing and how quick their surge may be
Month/Cycle: 9/9
CD: 2
WAYDTGKU: waiting for AF to leave
R/R: nothing really just happy it's Friday and time for the weekend!
CS/Q: none
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? I like this question! I don't know that there is anything they don't know though, I get tremendous guilt and can't hide anything
WAYDTGKU: PNV, CoQ10, Mucinex, BBT, green tea, HIO, preseed, OPKs
R/R: Rant- My usually wonderful DH reallyyyyyy pissed me off yesterday. Provided, I was already in a terrible mood, but still. I really wanted to HIO when I got home late from work but I was so mad still that I couldnt even bring myself to do it. Today is another day though. Maybe we will get a BD session in tonight. Rave- Its the Friday before our week long fall break and the end of the grading period! So we shall be having a "brunch party" in my classroom today.
CS/Q: Nope
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? Like @GlitterFish said, probably my sex life. It is not because my parents are super judgey (they were hippies in their youth) but its just weird to me. And I had a brief period of super scandalous behavior that I don't want to reminisce on with anyone, much less mom haha Like @mrs35I am very close with my MIL. She knows most everything about me.
@GeorgiaWife6912 Yay CH!! @SaphireSweetie88 I'm confused about whether to use FMU or not too. The only time I've turned an OPK was with FMU. However, I'm learning that I'm someone who has a short surge and has to test multiple times per day after a 4 hour hold... so I guess for me it's sort of moot. @GlitterFish I'm giving Mucinex a try this cycle. I rarely notice CM and we have to use Preseed. FX it makes a difference! Also I'm glad the SA results came back normal! @zwink1 ouch! Sorry about the ear infection
Month/Cycle: 3/3

WAYDTGKU: Waiting for AF to finish up, Temping, Green Tea
R/R: Happy Friday!
CS/Q: nope!
GTKY: They definitely don't know that we are TTC. Also, my dad still doesn't know about the tattoo on my foot (3 years later) -- but I think that's more a product of him being oblivious and me not pointing it out.
Me: 32 H: 32 Married: October 2009 TTC#1: August 2016
@SaphireSweetie88 The urine just needs to be concentrated, aka a four-hour hold. FMU is usually the most concentrated you'll have all day, but it also may not contain the hormone depending on when it's released. I read that LH is typically released mid-morning, so most women get their first +OPK in the afternoon after a four-hour hold. But the surge is different for everyone, so I recommend getting some Wondfos and testing morning, afternoon, and evening until you figure out your pattern. The CBAD test is a little different; it's measuring estrogen AND LH, so it wants only FMU every day. Estrogen is typically released while you sleep, so it will show up in your FMU the best. Then because of the nature of the test, they only want you testing once in the morning for consistency. However, I supplement with Wondfos and take those in the afternoon/evening, and have gotten a positive in the afternoon after a high estrogen reading in the morning with the CBAD. Am I thoroughly confusing enough? TL;DR get the cheapies and test at least morning/evening, and afternoon if you can.
@mrs35 Yeah, you can start on CD6. I think FF needs six pre-O temps to determine O. I typically start temping after my period is over because I temp vaginally and don't like to do it with a tampon in.
Month/Cycle: 4/4 post-myomectomy
CD: 1
WAYDTGKU: Meds and IUI is next
R/R: H comes home today! I'm so excited because I've been taking care of the dogs by myself all week and I'm exhausted. Oh, and I miss him, yada yada yada. I can't walk the dogs together (they're dog reactive and strong so I can lose control easily) so I'm basically walking dogs for 2 hours every day. Rant: One dog woke me up at 4:30 this morning, moaning. It was unusual, so I thought "He probably has to poop." I know how terrible it is to have to go and not be able to, so I'm sensitive to his needs and got up to let him out. Turns out he was just thirsty. THIRSTY. I put a bowl of water in the bathroom for this very thing, but NOOOOO he has to drink out of the bowls in the kitchen. So I'm le tired.
CS/Q: I will probably have a ton of questions for all the Clomid/Ovidrel/IUI/progesterone peeps once this gets started.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? They know about a lot because I'm 36, it's done, but I probably won't tell them about my many sexual exploits from my 20s. And OK, early 30s. Basically until I met my husband. My mom would be clutching her pearls for the rest of her life, Miss Only-Slept-With-One-Man-In-Her-Whole-Life.
Me: late 30s | H: early 30s TTC #1 since April 2015 RE Dx: Fibroids, surgery Jan 2016 IUI #1 and #2, Nov/Dec 2016, BFN IVF March 2017: ER - 5R/3M/3F, 1 PGS normal Polyp removed May 2017 FET May 2017 - BFP! Baby boy born 2/2/18
@eggplantface thanks! I am also going to have to temp vaginally which is why I haven't done it the past few days. I am a horrible sleeper, DH works weird shifts, and I'm a mouth breather so I'm not going to even attempt trying to orally temp. This is my first cycle temping so I might have more questions as I go!
@SaphireSweetie88 I use Wondfos and test in the afternoon typically, with a 2-3 hour hold. Also everything @eggplantface said for other brands and strategies.
@mrs35 Definitely. Many women don't temp until the end of AF so starting CD6 works just fine.
@GlitterFish I'm glad the appointment went well and you have a plan! Sorry to hear you have Hashimoto's, though. Just an FYI, it may take you a little time to get your thyroid back to normal on medication, and you may need to try different doses. But it's also very possible your thyroid was 100% the TTC issue and you'll soon be PG What kind of doctor are you seeing for your thyroid? I strongly recommend seeing an endocrinologist (not a PCP and not an RE) so that you can get to the right dose of medication quickly and safely. It took me a long time to get my thyroid issues resolved and it would have been so much better if I'd just seen a good endocrinologist sooner.
@krisnicole23 That is one of the great things about October! I have a love-hate relationship with thriller movies... I like the ones with good plots but I'm also a total wuss and need DH to watch them with me...
@eggplantface and @TheMrs Sorry for CD1 I hope you both have a relaxing weekend ahead.

R/R: Weekendddddd! I'm just eagerly waiting to O at this point -- I have all the EWCM and my ovulation pain has started twinging.
CS/Q:
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? I secretly dated a guy off and on in high school, which I never told my parents about. But at this point it's not like I'm keeping it secret -- it's just like what's the point of bringing it up?
@SaphireSweetie88@JulesDP I agree with @adirat I use wondfos with a 2-3 hour hold and when I think O is close I'll test morning, mid day and night. All of my positives have been at night so FMU isn't always key but everyone is different! You may want to try more initially until you get a better sense of what testing strategies work best for you!
@eggplantface sorry about CD1. All the happy hours... @GlitterFish so happy to hear your H had good results. Also really happy you liked the urologist. Doctors can really make or break these experiences so much.
Also checking in on. @purplg8r and @magnolia131 hope you ladies are safe, sure if you have limited power it is not being used to bump but hope you're doing well

Month/Cycle: 2/2
CD: 19
WAYDTGKU: all the things
R/R: The usual... my cm/cp isn't cooperating with being consistent enough to move to tww... I should have started temping this cycle. I had ewcm on Monday, but since it's been creamy instead of drying up. Bah. In good news, I'm having dinner with our neighbors tonight (we moved in at the end of May and we've been trying to get together all summer) so that will be fun!
CS/Q: I know you're normal until you're not, but if I'm having creamy cm post suspected ovulation, is there any other way to know I've ovulated? I'm guessing not - in that case I'll stay here in WTO until AF shows up which should be the 17th.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? We did end up telling my ILs afterwards, but we didn't tell them for a while that we hitchhiked during our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We figured that fell into the "let's tell them once it's done and we're home safe" category. They also don't know we're TTC.
@RunRestRepeat Sadly there's no way to confirm O in this instance... that said, I know some ladies on here get creamy CM after O so at the very least you can think you have probably ovulated.
@shstephenson Ugh, one of the most annoying things about TTC is trying to get in the mood to BD when you're pissed or whatever. Sometimes I can't do it either.
WAYDTGKU: BD at least EOD (for real this time), ClearBlue Fertility Monitor, checking CM and CP, PNV (plus Vitamin D, Magnesium, fish oil and a probiotic), RRL and green tea
R/R: Ugh, I'm back here after only a week away - AF (or what I'm 99% sure is AF, but the 1% BSC of me is like "But what IF it's implantation bleeding???") showed up almost a week early. On the one hand, if I'm not KU, I'd love to move on to the next cycle ASAP, but on the other hand, I feel like I wasn't emotionally prepared and I'm just so bummed out. Nonetheless, trying to focus on the positives: hopefully the CBFM will work this month and I'll know when I O. Plus, getting AF early means I definitely shouldn't O when I'm on a trip sans husband at the end of the month.
CS/Q: Talk me down: there's no way that implantation bleeding would go on for three days (even if it's SLIGHTLY lighter than my period usually is and I have cramps in my front instead of my usual back), right? I feel like I'm ignoring every sign that this is just a weird AF and only focusing on the ones that could be positive, but I know that's just the BSC.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? No, I was such a nerd as a teenager! Also, re: TTC: my mom is staying with us at Christmas. I was complaining about TTC stuff to her the other day and the following conversation ensued: Mom: I think you'll get pregnant at Christmas! Me: Well, not with you in the house! Mom: Oh, I sleep through everything these days. Me:...........No.
TTC #1: 4/16 BFP #1: 5/16 MMC at 8 weeks: 6/16 BFP #2: 10/16 Sweet baby boy arrived 7/7/17!
R/R: We have hired a new person, that I am trying to train... but dude for whatever reason doesn't understand that you actually have to stick around when you're training..... he will get up and be like, well I'm gonna go see what so and so is doing now... and I'm just like.... ok? WTF?
CS/Q: I had an extremely vivid dream that I was pregnant last night. One where I woke up and legit thought I was for a second... Maybe that's a good sign.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? There's more than one thing, but the biggest thing would probably have to be sneaking off to visit my bf at his college in another state 3 times without telling them. They still do not know til this day, and I was always super secretive about it. Like, wouldn't answer my cell phone because I didn't want the towers to ping my location because I was still on my parent's cell phone bill at the time.... I also did not use any ATM machine, my debit card, or anything.... LOL thinking back on that now, that was SUPER dangerous.

R/R: This is always my rant but I'm so effing tired today. Caught my DHs cold and all I want to do is sleeeeeeppppp
Rave: Preceonception consult with a new MFM. I'm a T1 diabetic so I'm excited to meet the new dr that I'll (hopefully) be seeing a lot of in the future. I think I'm also going to ask for bloodwork and discuss low progesterone and shorten LP. DH and I met with another MFM almost 6 years ago when we first talked about TTGP so it's not completely new to me but I'm excited nonetheless.
CS/Q: Nada.
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? Oh man, so much. I used to be close to my mom so she knows a lot about my youth but now I don't even want to tell her when/if I'm ever KU.
@leilac I did the same thing when I started spotting early last month. For me, it turned out to be early AF. Then again, I'm still working out my cycles after stopping bc. I've never been more frustrated with my body!
WAYDTGKU: Temping, OPKs in case I gear up to O again... but mostly waiting on AF at this point
R/R: I am back in WTO after the Advanced setting of FF took away my crosshairs. I was optimistic that it would just be a slow rising cycle, but feeling pretty confident that I didn't actually ovulate on CD 21.... or at all yet I am a little overwhelmed by everything I have to do for school and my internship this month and just in general having a really bad start to my day. I haven't seen DH since Tuesday and when I get home from work tonight at midnight he will probably already be asleep. Luckily, tomorrow we have a wedding to go to so I know that will be a fun experience and I'm hoping it will lift my mood!
CS/Q: If I did ovulate on CD 21, is it possible that I just have low progesterone levels that don't support a BBT spike? Or any other reason you can think of that BBT wouldn't increase?
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? ****TW loss***** I had a CP the summer after high school. I was really nervous to tell my parents I was pregnant at 18 so I was going to put it off anyway, then about 4 days after getting 2 + tests I just got AF like normal. I was pretty upset about it, even though it was NOT the right time for me or with the right person, but I felt like I couldn't tell them. They hated my boyfriend and I just thought they would be very disappointed and angry. I've been very careful with birth control from that point until I stopped 2 months ago. Its hard to explain but in my mind I was going to be a mom when I saw those tests, and I had always known I wanted that eventually so I let myself get excited and when it didn't turn out to be the case I knew I had to wait a long time until I would be ready to make the deliberate decision to try. In some ways it feels like I've been waiting since that moment for my life to be in order for TTC, and it took 8 years to get here. Its strange though, that I have that secret from them, because it feels like a really pivotal moment in my life.

@leilac Sorry for CD1 (though I admit I have my FX for you just in case...)
@Polarbear517 Hugs. I'm sorry that CP was so tough for you with you no one to talk to. I get why you didn't want to say anything, though. Also, for what it's worth, I disagree with FF. I think you ovulated CD21. It's true your temps aren't a smoking gun here (could be low progesterone as you say -- have you had that before?). But aligned with CM and OPKs, CD21 seems real to me. Your 5dpo dip could be an estrogen surge since your temp went back up today.
R/R: Not sure if I should really count sex last night. My leg cramped up right at the end and I couldn't stay on any longer. DH definitely finished as soon as I bailed. I'm hoping we're good but who knows! Neither of us could quit laughing for a good 30 minutes afterwards. Plus this was at like 1:30/2 AM after we got back to my parents house from working. Today's my last day on this job (thank God!) he will have to come back out here (2.5 hours from where we live) next week some to completely finish but we are so close. And I'm going to hit 60 hours this week. I'm exhausted. But tonight I have to get DS back home for soccer then clean the house since we have people staying over Saturday night after the football game.

and after a lot of discussion we determined it wasn’t the right fit for us and
he turned it down. Not exactly dramatic or “bad-girl”, but I’ll never tell them
how close we came and that we decided not to.
@swimsister No need to be sorry, and thanks for the advice! In positive news, DH just sent me a text with an amazon link to the Mabis saying "is this the thermometer you want?" It should be here Sunday - hopefully that will help me figure out what is really going on!

GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done?
Everything was pretty much all out in the open mostly due to my niece opening her big mouth. Needles to say we don't talk much these days.
@eggplantface Your story about my dog is my life except I only have one. I can't imagine walking two of her... nightmare. That's why I usually resort to playing frisbee with her in the yard... that counts, right? And also you quoted one of my favorite youtube videos that no one EVER knows what I'm quoting!!! "This is the earth. It is ROUNNDD" Lol

CS/Q: nope
GTKY: This: One July 4th when I was home from college for the summer, two of my gfs and I drove up to the city for a bbq, ended up at a hotel party, our DD was drinking so I had to drive us home. After a bit, we had to pull over at a sketchy gas station for the girls to pee. They decided to run up a hill to pee on a tree (?), which was actually, as I looked on with horror from below, a LAMP POST that was spotlighting their hineys.... Anyway, after they got back in the car and we were driving through the worst part of the city, one of the girls started talking incessantly about being sick. So I pulled over in an alley for her to be sick behind a dumpster (I know, we're classy like that). After a minute there was a spotlight on us and a voice saying "put your hands up and return immediately to your vehicle". PANIC!! The cops asked for all our IDs and what we were doing there (apparently it was a common spot for drug dealers... nice). I made up some story about how we had bbq'ed but really needed a big strong man there (I know, the shame...) because clearly we didn't do it right and our friend had gotten food poisoning. Somehow he believed this. But just to be sure, he looked right at me and goes, "have any of you been drinking?" I was completely caught off guard by the direct question and felt myself about to lose it so turned to my friend who looked straight at him and goes, "absolutely not, Officer." It's still one of our favorite quotes if ever we're caught out on something! Anyway, I probably won't tell my parents about that night anytime soon.

CD: 13

CS/Q: none today
GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? Got my nipples pierced.

IT'S A BOY!
@GeorgiaWife6912 Yayyyy!
@krisnicole23 That is one of the great things about October! I have a love-hate relationship with thriller movies... I like the ones with good plots but I'm also a total wuss and need DH to watch them with me...

I was complaining about TTC stuff to her the other day and the following conversation ensued:

GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done? There's more than one thing, but the biggest thing would probably have to be sneaking off to visit my bf at his college in another state 3 times without telling them. They still do not know til this day, and I was always super secretive about it. Like, wouldn't answer my cell phone because I didn't want the towers to ping my location because I was still on my parent's cell phone bill at the time.... I also did not use any ATM machine, my debit card, or anything.... LOL thinking back on that now, that was SUPER dangerous.

Today's my last day on this job (thank God!) he will have to come back out here (2.5 hours from where we live) next week some to completely finish but we are so close. GTKY: Is there one thing you still won't tell your parents you have done?
DH and I live about 4 hours away from my parents. I know my parents would like for us to live closer. Recently DH interviewed for a job much much closer to them, was offered the job and after a lot of discussion we determined it wasn’t the right fit for us and he turned it down. Not exactly dramatic or “bad-girl”, but I’ll never tell them how close we came and that we decided not to.

R/R: Today is Monday #5. I am so over this week. H still doesn't know if he will be able to go with me to my appointments next week because of work. My job has been insane this week. I'm so ready for the long weekend since Monday is a holiday for us.
CS/Q: nope
GTKY: Probably my sex life before I got married. I had some fun. Heck, H was supposed to be a one night stand. Longest one night stand of my life. It'll be 10 years since our hook up first date on the 16th. Also, my parents probably know I drink, but we don't talk about it and I don't do it in front of them. Oh, and if my dad asks, when H and I were living together before we got married, we had separate bedrooms. Yep.
Edit: typing the full word is hard sometimes...

@LoggiesMamma
Aren't you the one who insulted a bunch of our regulars in the PCOS thread and never apologized? Are you planning to apologize or just come in here and pretend that your "removal for TOU violation" never happened?
