Re: Bumpie of the Week 10.05 - swhiddon33
What is your first name? Sarah
When is your due date? 12/5 officially
What part of the world are you from (be as vague/specific as you want)? Way out in the country, near-ish to ATL, GA
What number baby/pregnancy is this for you? 1/1
What is your occupation or dream occupation? To be a writer. Novels, ideally, but earning a living for any form of writing is the dream.
Does your/will your nursery have a theme or color combination? Not totally a theme. Just general things we like. For ex: DH bought a vintage F1 car decal for the wall. The colors are blue, sand, chocolate, and grey.
Have you bought anything for baby yet? A crib and tons of clothes. And a ton of food - ok maybe that was for me
If you have bought things, what is your favorite thing that you have gotten so far? We randomly bought a "bear costume." Lol it's really a hooded onesie with ears but when worn the baby really looks like a teddy bear. He will need to be bigger than newborn size before it will fit though.
What is your favorite part of pregnancy so far? Knowing that our son is a complete and perfect blend of DH and I and a physical representation of our love. Cheesy, but true.
Do you have a favorite maternity/baby brand? Not yet! Everything is so new and I haven't tested enough to have a favorite.
One thing you will splurge on this pregnancy? I just bought the Blanqi support tank. Fingers crossed.
What are your top pregnancy related priorities? Keep. Baby. In. For. As. Long. As. Possible. Everything else? Just details.
What is your favorite book? Wow that's hard. I'm a diehard HP fan. I would have to choose that series as the ultimate favorite but I do have a ton ton ton on the list.
What is your favorite tv show? Of all time? Sex and the City. Currently broadcasting? The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones.
What is your favorite movie? The Labyrinth
What is your favorite band/singer? It's so hard to pick a single favorite. Amos Lee, Sigur Ros, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, Zac Brown Band, yeah this list could go on forever.
Anything else you would like us to know? I have a TERRIBLE foul mouth. This kid is gonna know way too many colorful words.
I also feel like I've been swearing way more since being pregnant, we'll see how that goes once baby gets here...
:: hides under the table ::
To be honest, Bowie in the Labyrinth was what I thought the ultimate man was when I was in kindergarten. That's when I first saw it. I very specifically remember watching it and just thinking... man one day I will find a guy like that for sure.
Also, DS slept in a fuzzy bear costume/onesie during the winter for the first year. And once he started walking it was hilarious seeing him walk around in it. Like a little ewok. I'm actually thinking we need to get another one for this winter because he won't keep a blanket on.
@kbduke I will say this. While I'm all for dropping F bombs and the like, I do NOT use derogatory language that seeks to hurt others, and to me, that lesson for the youngin's is the most important one.
@ea301 may I politely suggest you change this unfortunate factoid about yourself, post haste?
@slartybartfast we'd be pals, I just know it.
@Mamax2 you too m'darlin'.
My friend got me a Slytherin taggy blanket for the baby!! My bachelorette party was HP theme. It was awesome.
TTC since 6/13
Diagnosed w/ PCOS 4/9/15 - R/E recommended lifestyle change
BFP 4/10/16 - DS born 12/16/2016
SURPRISE! BFP 3/8/18
@swhiddon33- nice to "meet you!" I also have the worst potty mouth. My DD and DS have already dropped some creative language that I've inadvertinly taught them. My DH just looks at me- like- really phoebecar- really?!?!?
they are old enough now to know not to repeat mommy but I did say "crap" the other day which I know is not a curse word- I'm working on curbing my language and the next thing I know my 5yo is running around the house yelling "crap" to everything. So on second thought, maybe they don't know not to repeat me. Umm, back to the drawing board!!
And I am also constantly trying to reign in my bad words
I am bad at cursing the funniest thing is that my DH is like oh you cannot listen to certain music around Baby Bells. It is ironic because he listens to death metal which talks about raping corpses and stuff. His response? Oh well they are growling so much that you can't understand them anyway. Which is true. But still. Kids are going to be exposed to music so I don't see that sheltering them will be helpful?
@abriannaO HP themed bachelorette party? I must know what that is like!! Who did the stripper dress up like? I'm not sure I want to know
