Re: Weight In / Fitness Check Week of 10/3

  • Goal Weight and Current Weight? GW: 200   CW: 216

How are you feeling this week? I'm okay. I'm a little bummed I didn't lose as much weight as I wanted this week but hey I'll take the 2 pounds over nothing.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? Try to eat fruit at least once a day

Any challenges you're facing this week? Myself and my will power (or lack of it seems)

How did you do with your goals last week? I did okay. I gave into a couple temptations :/

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? Caffeine. I am addicted and I have managed to limit myself to EITHER one soda OR one coffee A DAY! The next step will be trying to go every other day.

  • Goal Weight and Current Weight? I would like to be in the 130s, right now im in the 160s (havent really weighed myself, but thats where I have been hovering)

How are you feeling this week? better, minus my body playing tricks on me.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? Work out on my new treadmill when it gets here tomorrow!

Any challenges you're facing this week? Going on vacation on Friday until Monday! much food will be consumed.

How did you do with your goals last week? Didnt . . . This week I will run on Tuesday and Wednesday.

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? I am a carb freak, but even worse is that my workplace has snacks and I have the worst time not eating them.  Im also a stress eater, and with my body not doing what its supposed to, ive been eating.  **TW loss mentioned** when I had my loss I ate everything for far too long **End TW**.  I just need to start to figure out how to eat the food I bring to work with me through the whole day, and not just all at once.

Where are you going on vacation? Sorry to hear about your loss (Hugs). I am bad when it comes to snacking too. I try to bring snacks with me to work. I try to bring a small bag of goldfish, pretzels or veggie sticks.

  • @SaphireSweetie88  I am going to Kansas to visit my sister who is a senior at KState.  I have never been, and I was afraid that if i got KU around now (which im not yet) I might not be able to make it out to her graduation, so I planned a trip to see her now. I have never been to see her, so Im super pumped about going out there!  And work snacks are the worst!  The only good thing about Mondays at my work is that the snacks aren't delivered until Tuesday!

  • 1- Goal weight 110. Current weight 130.
2- TW I'm feeling frustrated. I am super petite and each of my losses has added on some weight. We had in depth testing done and are waiting for the results. Something is up.
3- Make it to the gym most days.. I had to take time off after my last loss.
4-I shouldn't have too many challenges this week- work seems to keep me on track.
5- I didn't have goals last week other than to eat healthy since I was unable to exercise.
6- A big obstacle for me is wine and beer. A girls gotta live.
  • @littlebug2010

Yes work snacks are the worst but so tempting haha. I'm glad you're able to be there for your sister. Have fun!

  • Goal Weight and Current Weight?
    GW 135 CW 151

How are you feeling this week?

Not feeling motivated for the gym this week but I'm gonna go anyway. Haven't really craved much which is awesome and helping me stick to my diet

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?

Work out atleast 4 days this week, would like to start adding in more weight training too instead of just spin classes but I feel self conscious because I'm heavier then I usually was working out

Any challenges you're facing this week?

not particularly. DH has been on board also which is great. We are going to vegas in 2 weeks so looking nice is some clothes and a bathing suit is also a great motivator

How did you do with your goals last week?

awesome I was able to eat healthy even with attending a wedding. DH and I usually go out once a week on the weekends to eat but we haven't been doing that anymore to cut out temptations and have been doing other things for a date night instead

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey?

I love carbs and have been trying to work down to one starch a day so the struggle is real!
  • Goal Weight and Current Weight? CW 190ish. Don't have a goal weight atm. Just working on being healthier.

How are you feeling this week? Well it's Monday. I'm actually having a good Monday. I go for my pregnancy test on Wednesday.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? Drink more water and eat less sugar.

Any challenges you're facing this week? The ice cream I bought yesterday at the grocery.....sigh. It's been a while since I've bought ice cream though.

How did you do with your goals last week?

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? Sugar and eating out. Being single it's so much easier to just stop and grab fast food on the way home vs actually cooking dinner. I've been doing better the last couple of weeks and am making an effort to eat in more. Now if only I could accomplish this on the weekends, ugh.
  • @beachbunnyxo123 - Congrats on sticking to eating healthy even while attending a wedding.

@beckij34 - Trying to cut out sugar is one of the hard parts for me too. It seems like almost everything has a lot of sugar in it.

  • Goal Weight and Current Weight? I have about 60ish lbs that I'd like to lose overall - about 7 lbs down so far, 2 weeks in

How are you feeling this week?

Good, but our house has all the sickness.  I've been nauseous since last Wednesday, and feeling crappy today.  Really don't want to miss the gym tonight but I may have to

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?

    Gym gym and more gym

Any challenges you're facing this week?

Need to get rid of the sickness soo I can get to the gym

How did you do with your goals last week?  Fabulous!  Very proud of myself.

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey?
    Pop (soda)

@beachbunnyxo123 I totally hear you about wanting to try new things - I'm heavier than I've ever been and am building up endurance so I'm scared to try a class for fear I'll just drop!

    @beckij34 FX for you!

@SaphireSweetie88 2 lbs is awesome!  Just think that's 2 lbs you'll never see again

  • Goal Weight and Current Weight? My overall goal weight loss is 70lbs but my short term goal is 10lbs. I am down 2 lbs!

How are you feeling this week? Hopeful that I'll do better!

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? I'm going to try (again) to exercise 3x this week.

Any challenges you're facing this week? I'm kind of stressed about getting work done and hopefully applying to some jobs, and stress tends to make me eat more

How did you do with your goals last week? only exercised once, so... not so great

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? Sweet snacks/desserts... I have the largest sweet tooth!

  • Goal Weight and Current Weight? 138.6 goal is 120 (unless I'm pregnant)

How are you feeling this week? Good... moving on to week 4 of half marathon training!

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? Continue training, try to not eat emotionally

Any challenges you're facing this week? A big exam, it's period week which means I'm extra hungry and extra emotional(unless I'm KU!!!!)

How did you do with your goals last week? Great!

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? Emotional eating.. totally guilty. I've been laying low on this thread in particular because I've made to get back on track and it feels great

  • I'm going to jump right in and I hope y'all don't mind!  I was on a really great streak of running, where I finally got back up to 5 miles without dying and then I just stopped.  I haven't gone again in over a week.  So here's to accountability.

Goal Weight and Current Weight? I threw out my scale when we moved last month.  But based on my pants I'll say CW is 145 (heaviest I've ever been), GW around 125, but I'll take 130

How are you feeling this week? Meh.  It's pre AF so I'm insanely bloated this week, which is just frustrating.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week?  Run today, Thursday, Saturday at a min.

Any challenges you're facing this week?  My commute sucks.  It's new too.  I'm out of the house by 6am (I wake up at 4:45am so there is no room for me to run pre-work).  I'm generally not home until 5:30-6.  I used to be out around 6:30 and home by 4, so this is a lot for me.  Finding the motivation to run directly after work, or after 50 min commute home, sucks.

How did you do with your goals last week? I didn't run at all last week, which was dumb.

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? Anything sweet.  I need to eat sweets. All. The. Time.
  • Goal Weight and Current Weight? Short term is about 16 pounds away and long term is about 56 away

How are you feeling this week? Not motivated. We have a big festival this week so there is delicious carnival food everywhere!

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? Get my steps in and limit myself to one carnival meal

Any challenges you're facing this week? Lack of motivation

How did you do with your goals last week? Last week was week one of getting back on track. It didn't go as well as it could have but it was progress.

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? Sweet tea

  • @Berg it sounds like we are similar in our goals (running & dropping about 20 lbs)... don't let one off week get you down! It happens to all of us! Plus moving and a new commute are definitely a huge change in routine!
  • Thanks so much for the support @nelbetron!
  • @Nelbetron yes! @berg all the running is very impressive!!! I agree don't let one week get you down sounds like you worked really hard and should be proud! I'm inspired I wish I could run that far!
  • @manillabar @bswishe4 - Good idea to break down your goal into smaller segments. It makes it more attainable.

@Nelbetron - Good luck with the half marathon.

@berg - Good luck getting back into running.

  • Goal Weight and Current Weight? GW: 155 CW: 185

How are you feeling this week? Feeling pretty good, a bit tired

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? Continue going to Masters swim, incorporate more greens into my daily meals.

Any challenges you're facing this week? Nothing in particular, just my usual nemesis, sugar.

How did you do with your goals last week? Not awesome.

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? Definitely sugar. I have such an insane sweet tooth it's dumb.
  • Hello all!  I hope it's ok that I join this board.  I'm back to the Bump after a 3 year silence after the loss of my DD. I just started TTC and I'm attempting the 7.5% weight goal with fertility.  So here we go!

Goal Weight and Current Weight?  Goal = 212lbs     Current = 226lbs  (this is day 1 of my weight loss)

How are you feeling this week? This week I'm feeling excited since it's week 1 of our TTC journey.  It's all still butterflies and rainbows for the most part.

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? My goals for this week are:

    (a) drink 150oz of water per day

    (b) make healthier eating choices (meal prep here I come)

    (c) get back to the gym with DH this week at least twice/start yoga with DH

Any challenges you're facing this week? The biggest challenge I'm facing this week is time.   DH just started a new job, we just got married a month ago, we moved into our new home (in a different city) 4 days ago, and my job is asking for  a lot of overtime.  So hopefully we will learn the delicate art of juggling and time management!

How did you do with your goals last week? This is week 1 for us and with moving last week... it wasn't pretty.  Lots of pizza, beer, and snacks.

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? The hardest thing for me to cut out is probably sugar.  I try to lessen my processed sugars while getting healthy and it's terribly difficult.  Sweets are no problem, it's the breads and such that get me!

Goal Weight and Current Weight? UGW: ~150 lbs

How are you feeling this week? Super motivated, for once

Fitness and Nutrition Goals for the week? Same as last week!

Any challenges you're facing this week? It's been a crappy start to my week so far. A car ran off the road in front of my house on Monday. I hit a deer yesterday morning and missed work (during an already-short week in terms of hours, so this paycheck will suck). I forgot to re-write my essay for Comp class, but I'm trying not to dwell on it because I got an A originally and don't actually need to do my re-write. My mother's full-body scan is tomorrow to see if she has cancer anywhere else other than the spot on her head. This whole month is just so hectic.

How did you do with your goals last week? Decent. Not spectacular, but decent. Any progress is progress, right? I didn't weigh myself last week, but over the past two weeks I've lost 2 pounds, which doesn't mean much because I should really be able to lose a lot more a week if I focus more time and energy on getting healthier, but I haven't been...

GTKY: What is the hardest thing for you to avoid / cut out while on your fitness journey? Sugar-drinks. When I'm on campus, I tend to go for iced coffee out of the vending machine because they always seem to be out of water (and I never remember to bring my own), and everything else they have is either soda or sports drinks.

The problem is, I eat lunch around 12:30 when there's a break at work, so I feel like I'm starving by the time he comes home.  So I've been snacking... in fact, I've just a slice of texas toast, and almost a bag full of muddy buddies and I need another way lol. Any suggestions? I guess I could also just eat without him but that's usually our together time.  Although if I keep eating like this, I may have to give that up lol

  • @SaphireSweetie88, @RVAmom315, @Redpuma119 thank you! I'm glad I posted this, you guys are good, haha... I'll need to add some stuff to my grocery list for the coming week- nuts, yogurt, popcorn, some salad, and more fruit. I tried  tangerine but it wasn't enough. The protein, though is a great thought because it should keep me full longer. hopefully I didn't lose all my progress this week but I'll be happy if I don't go over my starting weight lol

  • @manillabar I don't know if you like avocado but that's a great snack as well.  One of my favorite snacks is a string cheese, almonds and raspberries or blackberries.  I don't know what it is but the tastes together are amazing.  I get raw unsalted natural almonds and reduced fat string cheese

  • @manillabar my advice to you is to eat when you are hungry, even if that means having your dinner at an earlier time and to save room in your daily intake for some fruit, a salad, a reasonable dessert or treat that you can enjoy while your husband has dinner. People don't realize how just snacking instead of having a good source of protein plus some greens can add calories on.

My my husband and I like to exercise after work and we're usually both hungry. That means we snack, adding at least 200 calories only to burn off about 300. If we would just have a meal and exercise later we would be at a greater calorie deficit than adding in those extra 200. Sure you may go to bed not completely stuffed, but you adjust.

I also recommend keeping anacks to protein hits. A handful of almonds, a cheese stick, Greek yogurt, rolled up lunch meat, half an avacado, etc. good carbs, fats and protein will help you to feel satisfied and will keep you from grabbing the chips.
