UO Thursday

Re: UO Thursday

  • I hate when I talk about our sleep issues and people tell me to just give him formula or cereal to make him sleep better.  First of all, you don't know what issues we are having and second, I am not gonna give my son "solids" before he ready just in the hopes he sleeps longer.  That's not how it works people.  Sure it may work for babies who eat full meals every 4 hours at night and are actually waking up hungry but I just told you that he's waking once per hour and isn't hungry!  People are dumb.

YAAAAS! Even DH- "give her a bottle" or "this would be easier if she had formula". Well, she doesn't. And it's important to BF on those bad nights when the baby is hungry to increase your supply to keep up with their needs.

    So frustrating.

  • This is more of a FFFC but I want to kick DH in the face right now. I have been up with Savannah all night long but of course she is awake and raring to go for the day. Guess who's up with her and who's still in bed?

Being a mom is (hopefully) going to change how I talk to people. Think about it, we all do it. We ask someone how something is going, they tell us the issues they're having, and then we start suggesting solutions as if they haven't given this issue more thought than anyone else on the planet. I really hope I catch myself if I do this to people bc the same stuff you're talking about is driving me nuts!

Don't ask me if she is sleeping through the night, or how much she weighs, or if I can give her a bottle so I can be away from her for an evening, etc just to follow up with advice. We're doing fine, i couldn't ask for a better baby, but yeah we're not scoring A+ in every category, she is her own little person and so am I. We do us : )

Nicely put! I hope I'm never one of the people I hate! :)

I am currently acing this mom thing- I dropped her off with my parents and am getting a spa mani & pedi. Last night was our worst night EVER (including the night after she was born) and I decided to treat myself. Thank god for my parents living nearby!
