Re: Moms with Toddlers - 10.3.16
Had another really great week!! I just adore the awesome little person, he is the greatest :-D (dying a little every day going back to work gets closer :-( )
Have you confirmed your plans for your toddler while you're having this LO?
Pretty much. My mom and DH's dad will watch him, with DH popping home for a few hours mid-day each day
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rave - I think DS is just the sweetest, smartest, cutest little guy out there!! I am so in love with him :-D

I'm feeling really conflicted about heading back to work.... I've worked in some shape, form or fashion since I was 12yo; have worked full-time ever since I got out of college 14yrs ago - these last 10mths are the first time I've ever stayed home and it was never intended to be long term. Even so, I am going to miss my little guy (and I'm sure this new LO as well) sooooo much!!
Bonus question: Where did you get married/honeymoon? (If not applicable, where do you hope to?):
We got married on Wedding Island on the San Antonio Riverwalk - it was a small wedding and just perfect for us!! We saved the bulk of our expense for the honeymoon - 10 days at an all-inclusive in Montego Bay, Jamaica and it was Awe-some!!! (Minus the small detail of a hurricane. But even that didn't dampen our spirits.... hello, all-inclusive!)
Sometimes I feel crappy about not being with him Mon-Thurs from 7a-4p. It feels like a lot of time away from him.
I'm also starting to really feel sad that I can't interact with him in the ways I want to. I like to get down on his level and play but I'm uncomfortable and if I lean over, my food falls out. So even when I'm with him, I'm just kind of sitting there while he plays around.

Yea we have a few flexible plans depending on what time I have to go check into L+D. We have neighbors and then my parents are an hour away.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Our nap schedule is all messed up. Some days he takes 2, 2 hour naps. Some days, just 1, 1 hour nap. Some days no naps. Trying to force a schedule just isn't working. So... we're going with the flow for now but I wish it were more regular.

not too bad overall. I had a meltdown on Wednesday trying to take DD to dinner with a friend. The whole way there she kept saying "need go home with daddy, no love mommy". She was crying so much I thought she was gonna pass out. I called DH to come get her and sat in the car and cried. I was late to dinner...then cried explaining why I was late. Other than that I think I've done ok.

If my RCS goes as planned, my mom will bring DD to daycare that day and pick her up. She's gonna stay at my house and take care of DD and my dogs while I'm in the hospital. If I go into labor and have the cs moved up, my mom would take her but idk how it would work since my mom wants to be at the hospital during.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Two year Olds suck. Then say stuff like "mommy you're so beautiful" and you *almost* forget they say they don't love you. Roller coaster of emotions over here.
Anything you want to add/share?:
DH is rubbing my feet...and DD just came over to help.
Bonus question: Where did you get married/honeymoon? (If not applicable, where do you hope to?):
at a place that borders a national park. It's tucson az so think mountains and cactus. We honeymooned in Hawaii (maui).
Have you confirmed your plans for your toddler while you're having this LO? My twin sister will watch the kids.
Rants/Raves/Questions: My heartburn has gotten a lot better now that I'm on medication for it. But now I have shortness of breath. Can't win. Lol

Bonus question: Where did you get married/honeymoon? (If not applicable, where do you hope to?): We were married in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. It was also our honeymoon location.
I think I can officially say I weened DD2. She just turned 14 months and hasn't implied nursing in over a week. This makes me a little excited and sad all at the same time. In the mean time she's much more actively into things then my four year old ever was. She keeps me on my toes and doesn't give me the opportunity to balance much else besides her and the mess she's created. I tend to forget I'm pregnant until LO wakes up and tried to make more room for himself.
Have you confirmed your plans for your toddler while you're having this LO?
No. Just today it's starting to hit me that I've got less then 8 weeks left before we are a family of five. With DD2 DH took off work for the time we were in the hospital and she thankfully came on a Wednesday so he stayed home that weekend. Hoping for the same luck. Three solid days to get my self into a routine before getting left alone is all I can hope for!
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rant: DD2 fell off a stool two weeks ago and fractured her nose. It never seemed to effect her after the second day, but looked awful! Well go figure she comes down with a cold and has been miserable all day. In her over exhausted tantrum earlier she hits her nose and it immediately starts bleeding. I don't think it bled half as much when she broke it! I'm ready for the week to be over.

This is Kevin. He's 6 this year and hates that DH and I keep enlarging his family. He would of been happy with just new human. We're currently keeping DH company while he welds.
Bonus question: Where did you get married/honeymoon? (If not applicable, where do you hope to?):
DH & I are both 28 Together: 12 years Married: 09/24/2011
BFP#1: January '12 - DD1 09/16/2012
Preterm labor 31 weeks. Monitored for Hellp and diagnosed with oligohydramnios July '12
BFP #2: 06/25 - EDD 03/05/15 MMC confirmed 8/1 - D&E 8/4 retained tissue discovered 8/20
BFP #3 11/24 - 12/15 Heartbeat detected - DD2 07/29/15
I have dog guilt instead of mom guilt. Rather than worrying about my relationship with DS changing (there's no way I could love him less for a second and I'm sure he'll feel that), I have guilty feelings toward my baby girl, my first born, my beautiful fox-like mutt. She does get the shaft because there just simply are less walks and runs.
I bought her a new dog bed out of guilt today. I was gonna save it for Christmas but then I was like... no dogs don't care about Christmas. She gets it NOW.
Have you confirmed your plans for your toddler while you're having this LO? My mother in law this weekend during the wedding: "Hey, if you guys want we'll totally watch him." This is as far as we have gotten, and should probably confirm with them. I told DH that if I go into labor at like 8-9am at school we can just leave DS at daycare and go give birth, then he can go pick him up after...I guess I am kind of hoping everything goes as quickly as it did last time.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I didn't think about this until someone posted it in the STM question thread, but I have no idea how I am going to nurse/pump with DS running around. How do people do that?!?! I am kind of nervous.

Bonus question: Where did you get married/honeymoon? DH and I got married at the Voodoo Donut shop in Portland, OR with my mom and dad and bro and his mom in attendance-as well as like, 150 strangers there to buy donuts, lol. Then we stayed there for a few days so that was our honeymoon. I worked for Kimpton hotels as the time and got all of our hotel rooms for $50/night, at a boutique hotel that was about $450/night when we looked at staying there this last year (we ended up staying at the Travelodge that time, lol). it was a great trip!
also to add I just noticed in my picture the cigarette butt. My father in law is a pig and on top of running the house and keeping kids healthy I'm forever cleaning up after him!

On her 4th birthday I brought home another dog. On her 5th birthday DH and I brought home dog 3. On her 7th birthday I got my bfp for dd1. Now she just turned 10 and we are getting another human. She's seen her family go from just the two of us, to us plus another dog, to adding a man, to adding another dog, adding a human, and now adding another human! And DH is the only man haha.
She's totally rolling her eyes at all of these shenanigans!
Meh. My performance has been less than impressive. Nausea and vomiting has ramped up yet again so I'm basically just a depressed bump on a log.
Have you confirmed your plans for your toddler while you're having this LO?
not officially. We should have our RCS date scheduled by my next appointment, so we will make our plans then.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
she has been SO BUSY lately. And a little defiant.. I keep remembering she won't be this age forever and I really do love this age, but man I'm exhausted.
How the hell will I handle TWO?!

Bonus question: Where did you get married/honeymoon? (If not applicable, where do you hope to?):
we got married in CT during one of the biggest blizzards New England had seen in decades. 36"+ of snow and roads were shut down. Only about half of our guest list were able to attend but I wasn't cancelling for anything and, thankfully, I had people who supported my determination.
We honeymooned at Myrtle Beach. Friends of ours have a massive beach house there in a gated community. They rent it out for thousands per week, but gifted it to us for our wedding gift. We had a blast!
Great! He's been really snuggly and fun this week so that has helped!
Have you confirmed your plans for your toddler while you're having this LO?
Depending on the time of day/day of the week we have about 5 options confirmed. If it's during the week our childcare provider said she can just keep him until my parents (3 hours away) can get him. If it's the weekend, one of our friends will take him.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
How am I ever going to love this new LO as much as DS?!?!
Anything you want to add/share?:
DS is officially in his big boy bed! I don't know how we got so lucky but he transitioned with zero issues. It's been five days and each morning when I get into his room he says "Slept in new room!" with a huge smiles. Whew.
Bonus question: Where did you get married/honeymoon? (If not applicable, where do you hope to?):
We got married in my small hometown, and honeymooned in Florida! We got married right out of college so no money for a fun, exotic honeymoon but it was perfect for us!
