Spit up

I feel like I am drowning in spit up. My poor little guy is constantly wet and I always have at least one spit up mark on me. I've talked to the pediatrician about it a couple times, but he's gaining weight and he does have good days where he doesn't spit up as much, so she isn't concerned. I've been told that all babies spit up and he will grow out of it, but geez it is so much!

Yes! All babies spit up. My poor son constantly smells like spit up and I change his clothes a million times a day. Just part of it. Unless they are like projectile spitting up there is really nothing you can do but keep cleaning them up over and over..but enfamil does make a formula for spit up. It did help my son but unfortunately we had to go with soy so now he's spitting up all the time again.. your

Have you tried switching formula? My son rarely spits up with his formula. I assume you already keep him upright after feeding so might be worth a shot to try a different formula. I hope you find a solution to help! No mom wants more laundry to do lol.

We went through a few bad weeks of spit up and my pediatricians recommended giving up dairy (if you are breastfeeding). I hate giving up cheese, but I do believe it has helped!

I don't formula feed, but I do have a friend that is struggling with her son constantly spitting up. She switched to Enfamil Gentlease and her son is doing much better on it.

My pediatrician said DD is just a happy spitter. I must wash 40 bibs a week, have a burp cloth stashed in every room and hold her upright after every feeding. Happy for who (minus that last one)?

Also keep a bib on during the day to catch the smaller burps. Easier to change than a whole outfit. We have to start using bibs cause of the drool plus the spit up.

I think I'm going to try the gentle release. I did just buy formula, of course. I do sit him up to feed him and afterwards. Thank you guys!

Good luck, oh and have you tried probiotics? That reduced Preston's spit up and reflux by a ton.

Eta if interested:. We use a brand called Klaire Labs. It's a powder just for infants. Very easy to mix in a bottle. Gotta keep it in the fridge though.

The enfamil we used was enfamil spit up. That's what it was called and it was a cereal based formula so he would sleep for hours after a feeding.. oh and also you should try zantac liquid form. You can get a script or

Over the counter. My boy is 3 months weighs 11 pounds he's gets 2ml twice daily. It helps. He will still spit up but hopefully not as much. If his breath smells like sour milk acid reflux could def. Be playing a roll in the spitting up.. and idk why my replies keep cutting off in the middle?? Lol srry.

You can call the nurse and ask over the phone. They tend to be more helpful in my opinion. Most peds will recommend probiotics and may recommend a brand but seeing as they get handouts I stayed away from the one she recommended. Not so great reviews.

Yep, dealing with that here too. I have a bib on DD all day. I found the pacifier helps with her reflux, so I clip it to her bib. I was getting sick of constantly picking up dropped binkys.

All my babies have been happy spitter uppers, I tried changing her formula multiple times and it hasn't helped. I will try the probiotics but I have two boys and do at least 2 loads of laundry a day so I just thrown in burp cloths and bibs everyday. Luckily my laundry room is upstairs!

We switched Lily's formula from the enfamil newborn to the enfamil A.R. around one month because she would spit up every meal. It's made with rice starch so that it sits heavier in her stomach. We switched and didn't mention it to the pediatrician until her 2 month appt and she said as long as it helped it's fine. Now she never spits up and has been sleeping all night for 2 weeks and when we switched she was sleeping longer. She still eats just as much but will take a nice long nap.

I bought some tomorrow and will use it to make the next pitcher. We will see. He sleeps great at night, but longer naps would work for me. Right now he naps about 40-55 minutes.

We had this issue too. Natalie was spitting up after every feeding multiple times. It would come out the nose and everything. We switched to similac spit up and her spitting up is minimal unless we move her a lot. We switched a lot trying to get he lined out. We never asked the pedi. I just did it.
